B9.5 RS5 Test Drive

Got and extended inspection/test drive this weekend, couple things made me think it might be tuned but not sure so I figured I’d ask here.
- Went into RS mode and idle rpms increase from about 750 to 1000, is this confirm on stock tune?
- In RS mode went to manual mode and in 2nd gear noticed the trans didn’t auto shift at redline, just bounced off redline til I shifted up to 3
Just wondering if these are consistent with stock tune. 2021 RS5

Is this a comp, or a base? The idle increasing is normal, the auto-upshift defeat is normal on a comp, it is not normal on a base.

My 2nd to 3rd gear shifts in Manual mode sometimes hit the rev limiter, even after trying to shift with the paddles. I almost always have to double "click" the paddle.

My 2024 base will auto upshift from 1st to 2nd but will hit the limiter from 2nd and above in Manual S mode (display says m1s, m2s, etc in red letters). Not sure if the comp lets you hit the limiter in 1st, though.

I’ve noticed if I don’t hit the paddle during the 1st to 2nd gear shift, then it’ll ignore the first upshift input I give it and bounce me off the limiter in 2nd until I hit the paddle again. Maybe it’s thinking that my first press is me trying to shift from 1st to 2nd but that I was just too slow about it haha

Normal behavior. Audi Sport models (RS and R8) don't auto upshift.

Yep, thanks for all the confirmations. A couple test drives and even the CPO test drive is bounceing off the 2-3 rev limiter.
Reason I thought is was tune related that is that I saw on the 034 tune specs (or possibly anther tuner) that their tune deleted the auto shift. They must have been talking about the 1-2 auto-upshift.
I like the idea rather than the autoupshift if the manual shift response time is good enough to execute the shift before the bounce.

Honestly the sport shift is so good I drive that 95% of the time. Drive maybe 4%, and manual maybe 1%.

Agree with this, and I get better times NOT using Manual mode. Sometimes its fun to be in Manual and make more noise on the downshifts.
