I just got my car from service last week and Audi did a software update. The car is a 2024 RS3 with 5200 miles. I probably drove not even 50 miles since last week. Yesterday I had some Apex wheels installed with new neuspeed TPMS sensors and I got an early flashing light this morning regarding the Tires beings different size or something of that nature. I did not have the time to grab my phone and record it or take a picture of the message but the flashing light went away after driving like 5-6 miles and the TPMS started working and reading temp and pressure.

I then came home, washed the car and got a CEL but no messages, just a solid CEL light. I put an old cheap scanner (Actron Poscketscan Plus) that cost me like $60-70 over 15 years ago and here is the message that I am reading:

P2F74 Severity unknown contact service group at 1-800-2287667.

I unplugged the scanner without deleting the code. Re-started the car but the code still there. I then deleted the code and re-started the car and is now gone. Unfortunetely when I googled it now the AI google just floods the response with a ton of miscellaneous and random suggestions but not a solid solid like ie: P0301 (typical misfire). Does anyone had any issues after doing the 8Y dealer reflash? My scnanner booklet doesn't have this code listed.

It's probably a VAG specific code.
Better to scan with VCDS or OBDeleven.

I need to read the papers. A close friend that worked for the dealer chain told me that they had a ton of DSG failures affecting the MQB platform but I don't know if this affected the RS3 or not but several cars with broken transmission on other DSG on the MQB at this dealer. I will post an update tonite on what my software update was. Thanks for inquiring.

Did you find out what this code was? Mine threw that this morning. I changed cat back with mid pipe 3 days ago.

No sir. But was your code specifically this: CEL P2F74 "severity unknown"? My car is very much stock. I only have a K7N filter and some times I alternate with the OEM filter and I have the mid pipes removed but as far as I know this is not something major. All I can say is that it happened the day after I got a TSB (software). I started the car that morning, I was in the garage doing other things when the car was just at idle for a few minutes and all of the sudden I got that code. I erased it and I haven't seen it again but at the same time I haven't put that many miles on the car either, probably less than 750 miles since. I deleted the code with an ancient scanner that is 20 years old now.

What are your plans? are you going to clear it yourself?

Considering it happened two days after i installed aftermarket catback exhaust and mid pipes, im hoping its not a major code. I guess I will have to get obdeleven and scan to see it.

Do you have any drone with after maket midpipe? Hows the sound? Is your exhaust stock or sport exhaust? Mine is too loud with the new catback and midpipe together for my liking. I may just go midpipe only.

I had Uni mid pipes on my Non sport catback exhaust on my 8V RS3 before and it was deep exhaust note but no drone. Now I have the two 8Y RS3s that came from factory with one and only one option(sport exhaust) and I have mid pipes on both and there is no drone but it is also slightly quieter than the 8V RS3 when it had non sport exhaust. Maybe something to do with the OPF filter. Either way: sport or non sport exhaust with mid pipes is perfect for what I like but I have been tempted to get a cat-back but they are pricey. Please post your findings regarding CEL P2F74. Funny thing is that I have a VCDS cable with up to 3 VIN that I never used yet from being lazy. I need to get my ass and plug it in and see if I can find the error. I am not sure if the error will show now that I cleaned it.

I scanned the car with obd11 this morning. It did scan a fault code for engine. However it was not the P2F74. It was P047600. It was for exhaust pressure control valve A. I cleared it and my CEL is gone. Drove about 20 miles and no light so far. It seems my CEL was related to my recent exhaust change. Weird that autozone pulled P2F74 yet obd11 is different. Wonder if P2F74 is not audi specific code but just a general one. I will try to scan again after work.

Good to know and thanks for taking the time to write back and give us the update. What we share is that we both have the test pipes(you have a cat-back though). We both were able to clear the CEL too. Mine popped the day after the TSB and at idle after a cold start. I will remember your OBD 11 code for me in the future to see if if I also have the same code stored on mine.
