I’m looking for a good sunshade for the A5 and figured I’d ask around. Are there any real differences between most of them? Any preferred companies or products?
I’m a bit out of touch since I spent 3 years in Japan driving a beater and didn’t care.
Thank you,
Pat

I’ve been really happy with 50% tint on the windshield. TX state inspectors haven’t noticed and it doesn’t really affect visibility at all. This way I don’t have to carry around a sunshade.

I tinted my windshield as well (70%), and so far no issues in SoCal. That said, the car still gets warm on a hot day.

I bought a B9 specific one from Covercraft and I've been quite pleased with it. It's a great custom fit and the outside is a reflective foil and does a good job of reflecting the heat and keeping the inside of the car cool down here in S. FL. I should really tint the windshield and the sunroof though...It would probably help tremendously!

I concur that the Covercraft sun shade from California Car Cover Company (https://www.calcarcover.com/product/covercraft-premier-car-windshield-sun-shades/5012) is a great choice. I had one that lasted the entire 12 years I had my 2011 S4 and definitely plan to get another for our '23 S5 Sportback. They offer the shade in choice of 3 colors: white, galaxy silver, and chrome camouflage. If you have a heads up display, you can also specify that on the ordering page to ensure your shade has a perfect fit. They used to offer a storage bag option for the folded sunshade which I am not seeing on their website at the moment. I definitely recommend getting the bag to protect the sunshade when it's not in use, so I'd ask them if they still provide that should you decide to order one from them.

Thank you all for the recommendations; I purchased one of these. I didn’t realize they were “custom” made so it’ll be a few weeks, but hey. Not such a problem in SoCal in the winter but it’ll be good to have for the summer.

Another CoverCraft owner here. I opted to go with the white version, looks good with the white exterior of the car.

I also have a fitted Noah fabric Covercraft for a different car than my Audi. Great quality (3 years of daily use in the sun), breathes well in Florida weather, and mine is thick enough to give some protection against dings.
