Hello All,

I am currently looking at a 2016 Audi A4 allroad Premium Plus AWD with 103K miles. I am not very familiar with this motor or platform (my daily is a 2007 GTI FSI BPY manual stg3 APR) so am hoping the experts here can provide some guidance.

What should I be looking for with 103K miles on the power train? Is the cam tensioner still an issue on the 2016? What recommended maintenance should I ask about?

The Carfax does not have good maintenance records so that is somewhat concerning.

TIA

I have a 2013 with 200k miles on it. In the last 25k miles I have replaced the following
Both front cv joints
Both front wheel bearings
at 196k, it was time to replace timing chain, tensioner, guides
AC Shrader valves (relatively inexpensive)

The rest has just been routine maintenance, tires, brakes... the usual stuff.

My '13 has been a spectacular car.

Some of major items,

If it hasn’t had a timing service you’ll want one soon, maybe very soon.

If it’s lived a life of 10k oil changes (or worse) it’s not if but when you will have oil consumption and how bad, 1L per tank can be the reality until an engine out rebuild.

P0299 underboost, not uncommon for the wastegate to be loose and leaking, Audi would recommend turbo replacement.

Beyond 100k pCV, injectors and hpfp can become suspect, also a good time to do a carbon cleaning.

Steering rack, main water pumps have had enough issues for Audi to extend the warranty

Control arms a wheel bearings are common “maintenance items”
