It is, if I remember right it is on the engine page, basic adaption block 60. Don't take my word for it though

You can do a throttle reset with the key and gas pedal.

I'm pretty sure I've read several times that the electronic throttle body recalibates every time the engine is shut off. It's that weird electronic servo sound you hear after you turn the engine off. Just leave your hood open, turn off the engine, and you can hear it coming from the throttle body.

Otherwise, the "trick" for resetting the throttle body/transmission is:

1 turn ignition to the on position (don't start the engin!)

2 Hold down the gas pedal pressing the button under the pedal for at least 20 seconds.

3 Let foot off pedal and start car. Be sure that you do no turn ignition off because that will void the reset

There's a button under the gas pedal? That's news to me.

The accelerator pedal in the 8K doesn't have a kick-down switch. The kick-down position in the normal accelerator pedal travel range is set by the kick-down adaptation in the J623 ECM, which is to be done if the ECM or the accelerator pedal position sensor is replaced. Which for the 8K, the pedal and sensor are a single catalog item.

The pedal position sensor has a 6-pin plug, which is just 5V, ground, and output signal for the two redundant sensors. The ECM is programmed via the adaptation to define a particular position as "kick down". You can view the kick-down status in the thusly named measuring value. Kick down will cut the A/C compressor as well as invoke a more aggressive engine rpm management.

It appears the 8D (B5) and 8E (B6/B7) had the F8 kick down switch, but only for gas+automatic+RHD? Seems an odd combo. the F8 kick-down switch makes an appearance in the B7 3.0L wiring diagram, but no clue what this "3.0L" engine is.

The EA888 does not have a throttle body adjustment adaptation or basic setting to be invoked. It's self managing, as noted, at each engine off. It would be interesting to know exactly what actions are getting invoked by the 20 second hold and start.

It's probably the driver's brain cortex for happiness being activated. I did this not once but twice and each time I felt happy! That's enough right?
