Thought everyone should know. I hope they bring the next generation RS7 too.

Read this earlier and laughed at the "not coming to the us" part. Would be par for the course. We shall see. If the C8 is dead in 2024 as hinted, I am dubious of any RS performance variant coming to life.

maybe it is a system similar to what Mercedes put in the Gt63. that system has a tiny battery that doesn't last very long and adds a lot of weight for an extra burst of performance that runs out quickly

Meh, it's a heavy pig as it is. If they're gonna replace it with a V6 or even worse with a 4 cylinder like AMG did, it will be even worse.

If this is the last V8TT I'm never selling.

I have a feeling they will release the RS6/7 with competition packages in a year or two with more power like the GT AMG 4. I know I'm keeping my RS7 for a long time if it's the last V8.. I can't live without this engine

My feeling exactly.

If they had not brought the current RS6 over and the future Hybrid was the first RS6 to grace our shores, I wouldn’t be least bit interested even though I’ve waited for the RS6 Avant to come to the U.S. since 2005. My 2022 is at port in San Diego waiting for a truck.

This is confusing. I thought that previous reports stated that Audi would not be developing any new ICE platforms and that all new RS models going forward would be EVs.

The new CEO Oliver Blume from Porsche is taking over the VW group and he isn't as aggressive as current CEO for pushing electric so it gives Audi more room. That's my thought

The next generation regular A6es (C9) will still have combustion engines since the ban of 2035 is still far away. The A6 etron will be sold alongside with it. They may not develop all new engines but they could take the existing V6 from the RS4 and slap some hybrid power on it. Even Ferrari is downsizing their V8s to V6, so it's hard to believe that Audi would keep the V8 for another generation.

I read that To mean that Audi would not develop new ice engines. Since the 4.0 motor has already been developed to higher specs by Porsche and Lamborghini it would require minimal effort for Audi to release a performance variant of the RS6/7

Well this might not mean much but the next generation Bmw M5 will have an hybrid V8 4.4L so i could see the same done with the RS6. This thing would probably weight 2250kg!

Well there's always hope but with the Euro 7 emission standard (CO has to be reduced from 1.0g/1km to 0.3g/1km) coming in 2025 I'm not too optimistic.

The push towards electric makes me sick.

I hear you and agree, are we really better off with electric and are we making thing worse? https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/06/business/lithium-mining-race.html

Never seen a convincing argument that cradle to grave an EV results in any favorable environmental impact.

If I was guaranteed a V8 RS6 in the C9 generation I would probably hold out but as it is, it seems best to scoop up a C8 before the V8 is gone forever.
