Checked friends engine. Timing (crank pulley mark, cam timing bar, cam 'squares/arrow', timing link count) is right on.
Yet car is firing very strange, early puffs out of intake manifold, later puffs exhaust farts. not even close to running.
Code is:
16730 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G163)
P0346 - 35-00 - Implausible Signal
16725 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40)
P0341 - 35-00 - Implausible Signal
he and his friend said that it IS (with force, lots of ingnorance, etc) possible to put the flywheel on 180 degress off.
If that is the cars would a possible ghetto test be to move cams (relative to crank) 180 degress (and bring cam and crank sensor back in line)?

On a factory flywheel…. Man it would be pretty tough to fuck it up. Aftermarket, a little easier since the holes are slightly larger than factory

Any other suggestions what could cause 'implausible' for the cam sensors?
As mentioned, timing (crank pulley mark, cam lock bar, cam chain count, cam 'square/triangle') have been checked and match perfect.

Is it even perceivable that a putting cam timing also in wrong by 180 degress to 'match' the wrong flywheel (basically engine timed 180 off, but all correct to each other)?

Head scratching. But did you check the reluctor rings are on the end of the cams?

Hmm I’m not sure. It seems plausible though. Why not put crank lock pin in and pull the crank sensor and see what you see ?

Put crank lock pin in 'by feel': possible? never tried. Sure would tell (checking timing marks) if 'off'.

Naw just get it close using the mark on the harmonic balancer. Get the pin in. Take off the crank sensor

Update: he took engine out, trans off: Flywheel was installed 180 degrees off! Car actually RAN like that.
Have to check what flywheel he is using that allows it to even be installed that way.
Car running normal now it seems.

[emoji23] that’s crazy. I bet he’s kicking himself in the ass. “If I had only got on my knees and checked every combination of pattern “

I ALWAYS thought it is NOT POSSIBLE to bolt up flywheel wrong. I just do trial and error until I find a fit. NOW I pay more attention that it doesn't happen to me.
On the positive side: he did not DESTROY HIS WHOLE ENGINE!
