With all of the unsprung/rotational weight talk going on in the best brake setup that. What’s what in lightweight wheels from a budget minded standpoint? Notice I did not say “Cheap” but Budget.
I would think sub 20lbs per wheel would be considered “lightweight?”

I purchased Konig Rennforms in 18x8 with an et32 offset for $227 each at bbwheelsonline.com. Weighed them myself, they came in at 19.19 lbs. et45 offset wheels would weight a little less.

Konig, neuspeed, enkei, Sparco to name a few. You can probably order a set of any of these for less than 1k. Depending on size and width of course.

I'm not sure what your budget is but someone is selling a set of Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 wheels in 5x112 18x8 et45 with Michellin Pilot Sport tires on the vortex. I have a set of these and they're light (19.5lbs) and strong and made in the UK.
TD Pro Race (https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?url=https://www.vwvortex.com/threads/vw-golf-r-18-team-dynamics-pro-race-1-2-wheels-with-michelin-tires.9466081/&share_tid=9466081&share_fid=7951&share_type=t&link_source=app).
They have a 57.1mm center bore so you don't need any hubcentric rings.

The OZ leggera series wheels are nice, the 18x8 supperleggera weighs 18#, they pop up used periodically.

Was going to suggest Konig too. Their FlowFormed line is really lightweight.
Or if you want to go the tried and true (but imo ugly) route, theres always Enkei RPF-1s

Any pics? I saw a Mk6 Golf R rocking some of those way way back and have been wanting a set ever since.

you folks that are running the non forged lightweight wheels, do you feel they hold up okay? not easily bent, or??

Yep they hold up. I've had RPF-1's on my Miata for 10 summers, and Rennforms on my A4 for the past 6 months. They are lightweight wheels, so don't go rallying with them. But for daily/spirited driving, lightweight non-forged wheels from a reputable manufacturer will be just fine. When you find a wheel you like, do a little searching for that specific model to see if they have any propensity for self destruction.
