After collecting all the parts to do my night vision retrofit, ive changed my mind. My loss is your gain.
The parts are for A6/S6/RS6/A7/S7/RS7 cars, years 2012-2017.

A few of the parts also fit A8/S8 cars.

for anyone doing the retrofit, the only thing you will need to buy separately will be the camera mounting plate, which varies depending on your car. Either one costs about $65. part numbers are:

Install module (J853) under carpet, in front of driver seat. 2-3 hours
-loosen seat, tilt back. do not need to completely remove.
-remove drivers door sill and b pillar trim
-remove dead pedal
-pull back carpet
-Remove foam filler in floor recess and install module box and module in its place.
-plug in wiring harness and route to firewall

remove and replace light switch. 5 minutes.
-remove dash side fuse cover panel
-push switch out from the inside
-install new switch.

Install (2) wires to instrument cluster harness. 1 hour
-route red and black wires (with terminals) from harness (mentioned above) to rear of instrument cluster. remove instrument cluster first.
-at 32 pin harness, insert red wire to pin 20, black wire to pin 19.
-reinstall instrument cluster

Install camera. 2 hours.
-purchase camera mounting plate. 4G0980561B (MY16-18 A6/S6/A7//S7/RS7) or 4G0980561A (MY12-15 A6/S6/A7/S7/RS7)
-remove bumper cover
-route remaining harness wire/plug to engine bay, to rear of bumper, by home link module.
-use dremel and trim rear of drivers(left) audi ring backing plate, for camera lens to be visible. alternatively buy/install part 4G8-853-037-L-9B9 (RS7) or 4G0-853-037-A (MY12-15 A6 and S6) or 4G0-853-037-E (MY16-18 A6 and S6)
-attach camera to mounting plate, attach trim bezel to camera, attach assembly to rear of audi rings.
-plug in wire harness


Drive to independent shop or dealer to remove component protection from night vision module (J853). ODIS is required for this, so make sure an independent shop has it available to them. Use VCDS to calibrate/code camera.
Camera aiming will most likely be necessary.
