does any one know the part number or a good replacement for these studs circled in blue, the audi dealer could not get me a part number, they said I needed to buy the pipe segment.187105

is there an acceptable VW stud I could put in there, or should I just get some knurled studs from autozone and put them in, if so do you all have any recommendations?

Cut off drill through and use a nut and bolt

I knocked them out and did that the first time. But I was kinda hoping to find a better fix, i used stainless nuts, but not the bolts. The store was out at the time

Definitely no separate part from the Audi perspective. Looking at them, are they welded in or just pressed in? Looking at pics 4 and 7 of this example:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/AUDI-A5-EXHAUST-PIPE-FRONT-2012-2013-2014-2015-2016-8K0-253-102-AC-Q5-OEM-/223700218029

Seems curious for them to use replaceable studs for the block to turbo and turbo to cat, but then not for the cat to this pipe. But this pipe has that decoupling element:

Danger of damaging the decoupling element.
♦Decoupling element must not be bent more than 10°.
♦Do not load decoupling element on cable.
♦Do not damage wire mesh at decoupling element.

I wonder if all that is why they didn't bother with replaceable studs there.

I used a bolt with the Audi nut. I talked to a guy in Los Angles from a place that sells exhaust bolts to racers. He recommended black oxide coated high strength bolts not stainless.

Sounds like your dealer wasn't trying to do you any favors and force you to make that spend.

When I installed my exhaust they were welded into the midpipe section. Cut through them as mine were seized and didnt need for my application. Nuts and bolts after existing ones are drilled, I'll second whats mentioned above

How did you knock them out, just by bashing on them or it was more involving? Want to convert my DPs on my A4 3.0t to bolt-and-nut setup

They are knurled studs but basically I used a drift and a hammer to just tap them out of the flange on i think i used a socket bigger than the head of the stud i leaned the pipe against my work bench and tapped them out

They are pressed in like wheel studs
