My block uses uneven length main bearing bolts.
Ordered the kit from 034.

Tried to install the oil pump: does not fit. Outer studs too long.

Found this issue also reported on ECS website (they sell the 034 kit):
Straight forward, but still has fitment issues. Main studs went in flawlessly, couldn't be easier, ARP and ECS are known for there great products. However, when putting in the oil pump and oil sump, the main studs will hit the pump and pan. While everything looks like it fits, the studs will break your pan and pump when you torque the pan/pump bolts down ! Be prepared to modify your pan and pump, or get the OEM main bolts.Posted By EdwardK671 on 5/28/2019 - Fairview, OR | Audi C5 A6 Quattro 2.7T | Many vrooms

Can I just try to cut down the stud end (that sticks out)?
Don't see to drill/grind away on the pump to make it fit.

Has someone else (aside from ECS user who reported it already) had this issue?

You could shave the bolts but it would leave no threads coming out of the nut. Don't modify the pump in my opinion, modify the pan. Alot less possibility for issues. You could shim the pump and shim the pan.
