Rejuvenating hydyraulic lifters

I am assembling engine/heads of my APB 2.7T. The OEM lifters had been out (well preserved) for 2 years.
Before putting them in:

- soak overnight in transmission fluid (detergent)
- soak again overnight in low viscosity engine oil (to fill them)

Or nothing really needed?

Or other suggestions?

Just soak in normal engine oil over night. That's all you need.
