Hi,
Need some help on transmission question. I found a transmission than i want to buy, but its from a Audi S5 A5 S4 A4. I wonder if it will fit my 2016 s6. Visually they look exatcly the same except for the very rear of the trans (center diff i think is called), but i can swap that over. The number on "s4" trans casting is:
0B5 301 383 L (interchange numbers that i found are 0B5300062C / 0B4301213E, 0B5300060 R / 0B4301213F / 0B5301383L / 0B5105317 )
I cannot see what it is on my s6 without taking it out, or what trans part number mine has.
Maybe someone here can shed some light for me, if it a usable trans for the s6.
Also if swapped, will it require any special programing? etc?

0B5-300-062-A-002 is the part number for the S6 according to https://www.audiusaparts.com/

Not an answer per say, but this is a good deal for PXK trans, clutch and flywheel. Broken mount hole on side which could be fixed.
PXK code should be an exact match to your trans.

PXK is an Audi code. It can be found on the top of your option card for your particular car. I attached mine for illustration. Across the top it has the engine code, code for sports differential, and the trans code.
Different codes would signify changes made to the transmission. For our model there were two different codes;
2013 NSK
2014-2015 NSK or PXK
2016+ PXK
Being that S6/S7 had the highest torque rating for the DL501, I would be cautious about swapping in a different coded trans unless you can identify the specific parts Audi changed. HTH

Our cars must have been separated at birth. My build sheet is almost identical to yours even the colors.
Except mine has code S0B=Veh. /w engineering build status of current model year a. vehicle identification no. of next model year OR Sales model year does not match production model year
I assume because it is a C7 2015 built in 2014.
Do you happen to know the specific differences between NSK and PXK since I thought I read there were changes to the pumping system and or cooling of the 2016+ C7.5 S-tronic which I would have thought would be significant enough to warrant a new code unless that is the PXK in which case [:D]

gk1, I’ve read the same in regards to pump change. My guess is that the PXK was in fact that change, and they started transitioning over in 2014. By 2016, the transition was complete.
From a marketing standpoint, it makes sense to highlight that change for the C7.5 update.
From searching the web, the standard DL501 has 11 friction disc, (5)K1 and (6)K2. Someone on this forum was kind and smart enough to breakdown their clutch after replacing it. It had 13 friction disc, (6)K1 and (7)K2.
This confirms that Audi did make at least 1 change for our torque. What else has been changed is unknown or at least not confirmed.
** I just looked up that thread I was referring to. It was gimpgutter who provided the pictures of his disassembled clutch.
Credit to him!

All of this is good info. I wouldnt be so tempted if this trans im buyin wasnt $1200 new. Consider buying it just to see if it can be fitted (with the center diff swapped over)

Where is the option card located?

In the trunk. Lift up the spare tire cover and it should be on the driver side towards the back seat.

My card/sticker was loose in the spare tire well. It wasn’t affixed, guessing that was part of dealer prep which was missed.
lituoklis88, the price is attractive but it’s a gamble. Are you swapping the mechatronics also?

well, wasnt planing on it but sure. my trans only has 23K miles, and it making noises. which is weird, so buying used trans is making me a bit worried

Well that will be another obstacle for you as I believe the mechatronic has to be programmed to the vehicle, and different transmissions may call for a different mechatronic so swapping might not be an option. Just more to look into before purchasing the S4 unit.
Getting back to the original issue, this only became apparent after the clutch swap? Being that you have a low mileage car, it might be best to see if your trans can be rebuilt.

0b5 from the s4 will likely have different gear ratio sets which might not work for the s6. Plus, front diff is likely different ratio, too. As I was told, front and rear diffs need to have the same ratios or center diff will break. And yeah, clutches are probably not the same and s4 clutch won't hold up to the s6's torque that well. What kind of noises does your trans have?

Hessen Auto in Des Plaines rebuilt the DSG in my S4 and it seems to be working well.

Thanks,
Good to know.
That is interesting to know about the stock 13 friction discs seeing as SSP offers a 13 disc option upgrade for the S4. (Although I see no reason this would also be for the S6) Also a bit strange the pictures show 15 clutch discs. May be just display.

I have a 2013 s7 with an NSK opt 5c1, could I swap in an NSK 5c0 or a PXK with coding? Its super hard t find these 2013 transmissions with low miles
