as i am sure you know, "jap" is a derogatory term.

it is just as bad as "honky," "******" or any other ethnic or racial slur.

i am sure most folks type "jap" as a quick abbreviated form of "japanese." still, it is offensive.

i request that such use of the word is regulated.

in addition, i am hoping you will police the use of "***" as well.

i know it is difficult to regulate every single post but i hope you will make the extra effort to make this a better forum.

thank you.

You are saying we should auto-block such words, or manually edit these words out of every post we come accross? If you block the word "jap" it will also block it when someone is typing Japan or Japanese.

anthony,

i am aware that if you do autoblock then japan or japanese will be blocked out. in light of this, autoblock would be overboard.

i know it would be hard to do it manually. i am requesting that warnings be given when you do in fact come across "jap," "***," etc.

and i know it is impossible to "catch" each and every offensive term.

i am asking that a more active role is taken by the admins to regulate it.

i appreciate your time and concern.

take care.

hateful, hurtful, a weapon being used by some that have no right to use it.
