I agree the TIP is crap, but at least it gives us clean cars remaining to work with.. As the TIP cars are not completely trashed at this age for the most part..

Agree. My Tip is clean at 180k miles, and it is meant as a comfortable winter driver. I had a B6 S4 for rowing gears and C63S for going fast.

I know this person and this car. The dude is a bang up guy, and the car has no serious rust (mainly superficial except for one of the fenders if I remember) or accidents. He bought his parts through 034 Motorsports and USP Motorsports mainly, and was good on his maintenance. Yes, the buttons on either side of the steering wheel are tip controls. The ring around the audi logo with 10 dimples in it on the airbag is the other difference. Manual airbags won't have that. Can't see the gas pedal in the pictures, but the two pedal pictured are clutch and brake definitely not anything shiesty going on like trying to hide the fact that it is still an auto, it at least has a clutch pedal in there.

I know a few members who have salvaged cars. My car was salvaged for a cracked bumper. The insurance thought it was too expensive to fix so they paid us out (more than what we paid for it) and we got to keep the car.

Some states won't let you register a car with an R title, and many insurance companies won't go near it either.

Are you sure? When i bought my b8 from a dealer in oakland i flew out to drive it back to denver. And found i annoyingly had to pay CA sales tax.. The dealer told me if i had proof i was shipping it out of CA and it wouldn't be driven on CA roads, i wouldn't have to pay CA sales tax. I was tempted to rent a flatbed to get it off the lot and drive it around the corner :P Of course who knows if they knew what they were talking about but worth finding out?

The right buyers are out there and have the money to spend on the right car. TBH that pearl was very very nice, I was surprised everyone was so gun shy; these are 20 year old cars, there’s no such thing as perfect on our platform. It was a steal at $15.5k when I had it before bringing it back in to do the trans work.

GL to the imola seller, I think you can get $16.5-17 if you’re patient.

If I recall correctly, in the 90s everything was either Hunter green or Maroon, be it clothes, vehicle colors, or even bathroom wall color. It was just so overdone and by the time the B5 S4 hit the US, I assume that people were just sick of it and no longer interested in those colors.

Color is so subjective and I think this post proves that. A rare color spec doesn’t necessitate it being gorgeous, just makes it rare 🤷*♂️

Right now florett silver is the least produced C8 RS6, yet Audi produces ass loads of florett cars annually. I know it’s not an apples to apples comparison as those are ordered, but I would not say florett is a rare color like say suzuka or piedmont.

Also, cactus is a better green than sonoma……

Next I just need the find a B5 S4 6MT donor to get rid of that 2.8 and replace it with the 2.7tt.

I appreciate the vote of confidence, but my research showed that $13,000 is right around fair value based off actual sales (BaT, Ebay). I've had tons of interest, but still waiting for someone to put cash in my hand.
