So I purchased these lovely Konig wheels with nice winter tires. They don't clear the massive CCB brake caliper on my 2018 RS3. Wheel's are 18X8.5 ET43 I believe. Will simple spacers and longer lug bolts work?255867255868

Joshua

Assuming the inside barrel of the wheel clears, you will need both spacers and longer bolts, you’ll have to measure and figure out what thickness your spacers need to be

Probably a dumb question, but what is the cost benefit to the different Weds TC 105x wheel sizes? E.g. 18x8.5 vs 18x9 vs 18x9.5. It looks like the wider they are the heavier they are (~0.75 lbs per 0.5 width). Is there a benefit to the wider wheel (255/35/18 would fit fine on 18x8.5)?

Context is I have the weds TC105X in 18x8.5 +43 so I'm just curious on the difference. Seems like lighter is better all else equal but don't know if I'm missing something.

The wider wheel opens up a few more tire size options and also helps to pre-load the tire sidewall a bit by giving it a tiny bit of stretch say when using a 255 on a 9” , which they say improves handling….doubtful you would really notice much difference on a daily driven car

In terms of performance 18x9 +45 allows 245/40 255/35 and 265/235 with no problems. With the 8.5 +43 you’re limited to 255/35 really max.

In terms of looks the 8.5 +43 sits pretty inboard. The 9 +45 is a good medium stance and the 9.5 +45 is flush.

In this wheel the 8.5 is an FR face and the 9 and 9.5 are R face. The latter 2 having more concavity.

Great thread, and you guys have some beautiful rides. Thanks for taking the time to post your fitments and specs.

Does anyone have any photos of the WedsSport TC105X in either 43 or 38mm at stock height? I’ve seen several photos of cars with the 43mm offset, but I’m not sure if they are stock height or not. I want to make sure that there is no poke whatsoever at stock height.

Also if anyone has a photos of the TC105X on a Daytona grey car that would be awesome. I’m afraid the colors will be a bit too similar, and that there isn’t enough contrast.

Thanks!

Below is at stock height. It’s not a good angle to show how it sits but I can 100 percent confirm 8.5 +43 does not poke. It sits slightly inbound. 8.5 +38 doesn’t clear the brakes in these.

I have a set of the 8.5 +43 available if you like

Hi all, does anyone know if RAYS VOLK RACING ZE40 19 X 8.5 +38 will fit a 2018 RS3 sedan with any issues? Currently using MPS4S 245/35 19 all around with stock height and standard brakes.

Hey Paul, FYI for the future.

I have the TC105X in the 8.5 +38 and it clears the stock RS3 brakes by a lot actually. The +38 offset is perfect for the RS3/TTRS, it sits great where as the +43 version kinda sinks in a bit and would require a nice 5MM spacer to look good.

Fabulous thread here! My wife is a bit upset with me reading all of this over the last two days!

I picked up a 2018 RS3 a week ago to replace my 2019 S3 that had the Black Optics Option which includes the nice 19" Rotor wheels which I assume are 8" width. I have always loved these wheels and I'm very tempted to use these and replace the staggered wheels on the RS3. My assumption is they will fit on the front. If I did this, I would run 245/35 tires.

But after reading here that the Audi Sport wheels are often 27 to 29 lbs and that there are many wheels discussed here in the 19 lb range, my question is how much of a difference will that make in the driving experience? Assumption here is I would pick wheels that are 19x8.5 and go with 245/35 x 19 tires for a square setup. Thanks to all for all that I have learned!

Congrats!

Those S3 rotors do not clear the Rs3 brakes unfortunately. Losing weight on all the corners is always a plus but the biggest improvement will be to dump the Oem pirellis. They are hot garbage. Whatever wheel you choose my advice is go square and get good tires that meet you need and goals. That alone will increase performance exponentially.

Shoot me an email I’d be glad to help 👊

Thanks so much for the reply, Paul!

I'm happy to know the S3 rotor wheels won't fit on the front as I'm now not tempted to do that. I had suspicions they wouldn't fit. My RS3 came with the Michelin PS S4 tires in the stock staggered sizes. Last week I put on 245/35 19 Michelin winter tires and the car is much more compliant to big cracks in the roads around here. But not enough for my liking. If our roads get any worse, local daily trips will best be done in my 4Runner!

I've been reading and learning more and I'm now leaning to 18x9 - 45 using 255/30 tires to get a bit more sidewall. Still have some reading to do to narrow in on what styles and finishes I'd like. Saw the Weds along with the RSe 102 and an FC that strike my fancy so far. Loving the brushed black finish too.

Will email you as I get closer to defining my wants (although reading what I just wrote I may be there already). lol

If you want more sidewall than a 245/35/19 dont mount up 255/30/18's, those have ~3.01 inch sidewall vs ~3.38 for the 245/35/19. If you want a noticeable difference, you want 245/40/18's mounted on 18X8.5's (3.86" sidewall)

Hey Paul,

What is generally the best tyre size to go for on a car running the staggered setup? 245/35R19 ok to run on staggered OEM wheels front & rear? I am not really a fan of staggered if I am honest, so trying to work out what best size of tyres i should go for next...

While not ideal, 245/35-19 is really the only size you can pull off on the staggered Oem. Much better for handling to go square rims and tires though.

Hi Paul, I'm close to settling on wheels and tires but wanted to verify fit before pulling the trigger. My car has the carbon ceramic brakes and is at stock ride height. Planning to go with RSe11R's 18x9 +45 with PS4S 245/40/18. Should that be kosher?

Yes this will serve you well. I am running PS4S 245/40/18 which replaced A/S3+ on RSe10 18x8.5 and they've proven to be a very satisfactory configuration. I am currently at 32,270 total miles with 23,234 miles being fast country back road runs and am very pleased with the performance of this configuration. Soon to be 82 years old and have making these kinds of back road runs since 1958, starting in southern California, now in northern VA in BMW, Porsche and now our 2019 Audi RS 3.

HAHAHAA! I hear ya. I’m from Westchester so I know your pain.

I’d recommend dropping to 18”. You can get the same sidewall meat with 245/40 and can drop 8-10 lbs per corner with the right ones.

Hey all,

100% noob question I apologise, i am very new to Euro and come from a JDM background. When ordering aftermarket wheels for our RS3 Sedans (Saloon) do we need to specify hub centric details say if I were to order a set of Vossen HF3, or will they know hat to give me when i say it is for the RS3 platform? Also what premium brand of lug nuts do most of us use/recommend? I am guessing I will need lugs too so may as well order that at the same time...

Thanks from Australia Down Under ;)

Depends on the manufacturer. Anything custom you can get true 57.1. Some off the shelf wheels have bore choice but many are going to be larger bore and require the use of rings to 57.1. Most places will know what to include if they know the platform it’s going on but it won’t hurt to ask.

Bolts will depend on the specific wheel. Some need ball seat and some cone. For most wheels without spacers on this car you’re looking at 14x1.5x27 to 30mm

Neuspeed wheels such as these shown here at <https://neuspeedrswheels.com/collections/vw-audi/products/neuspeed-rse10-8810?variant=31935762890865> are designed to clear Audi RS 3 brake calipers, such as I am using on our 2019 Audi RS 3. Been using their wheels 40+ years and they've performed perfectly on the many different vehicles I've used their wheels on.

Here's a pic of them on our Nardo Gray 2019 RS 3 fitted with Michelin A/S3+ 245/40/18 tires, capabile of surviving our pot-hole rittled back roads, which killed two of the original factory 235/35/19 tires in 3 days!...

Anyone know what the largest tire height reduction is that a stock ECU can handle without screwing with the shifts? I realize it will impact ride quality/etc as well, just curious if there will be TC issues and traction control going to something like a 255/30R19 from an OEM 255/30R20.

I assume you have a TTRS referring to an Oem 255/30-20 ?

You should stay within 3% of Oem overall diameter. Much more or less will mess with shifting. On the 2.5 platform that’s about .75”. 255/30-19 is a full 1” smaller OD so out of range for TTRS. 255/35-19 would be Oem OD.

Those of you who have gone with the typical aftermarket RS3 square setup - 245/35 19 (on a 9" wheel) - what tire pressures are you running?

Is there still a reason to stagger tire pressure without having the staggered tire setup? New to AWD cars here, only ever owned FR American cars up until this point [:)]

We have a 2019 RS 3 fitted with Neuspeed RSe10 18x8.5 running Michelin A/S3+ 245/40/18 tires,
now at 35,989 miles of which 25,912 miles have been fast country back road runs 3 days a week
as weather permits.

These tires are necessary to survive our typically poor surface back road defects which killed one
factory 235/30/19 tire within 3 days! Will be installing Michelin Pilot Sport 4S soon as current tires
are at their end and the Michelin A/S3+ is no longer made. Been driving such roads for the past 64
years and very fortunate to still be doing such today... hoping it will continue a bit longer.

There's a wealth of information in the 46 pages here and appreciate the inciteful and helpful posts! I'm contemplating placing an order for a 2022 RS3, and would prefer to go with 18" wheels. The roads in NE Ohio are not the most forgiving to low profile tires or cast wheels. I've got a set of HRE R40 forged wheels, 18x9 ET40, that would enable me to go to a square setup. I'm fairly sure (but not certain) that these wheels would fit over the RS3's steel rotors with some room to spare. They're currently on my 2011 S4 with Michelin PS4S in 255x40-18, as shown in this pic ...

https://www.audizine.com/gallery/data/500/az5.jpg

Assuming these HRE's will fit, the next question is will I be able to run the 255x40-18 PS4S tires front and rear, or will I need to downsize to a 245x40-18 size tire? I'm not planning to lower the car or modify the RS3's suspension in any way, and do not want to encounter any rubbing issues.

On a related note, my wife is pushing me to eliminate the twice-yearly changeover from a winter tire set (BBS RGRs with Michelin Pilot Alpins) to the HRE summer tire set. Since I would not be tracking the car, I've considered switching to a Michelin Sport All Season tire, in either 245/40ZR18 or 255/40ZR18 (assuming no rubbing in the rear with the 255 size.

Finally, my S4's tire pressure monitoring system uses the ABS sensors rather than individual TPMS sensors mounted in each wheel. My understanding is that I'd need to add these valve-stem type sensors to be used with the RS3's TPMS system. Are there a recommended or required type/brand of sensor? I believe they might need to be installed using a torque wrench with inch/pound settings. If so, I'll need to add another tool to my toolbox!

Thanks for your help and recommendations!

This thread is amazing! I’ve decided to go with the BBS Nurburgring edition wheels, 19x9 +42 all square on stock height. My question is which all season tire size is best and what are the pros/cons if there are multiple options. I admittedly don’t know much about tire/wheel fitment, but these are the tire sizes I’m considering for northeast area:
235/35/19 (too narrow?)
245/35/19
255/35/19 (rub?)
255/30/19 (not enough sidewall? Rub?)

Thanks in advance!

I talked to a rep from Tirerack and he said the PS4S would be out of stock for quite a while. I didn't want to take the gamble on backordering (or wait) so I went with Michelin PSS BMW star spec in 245/35-19. They are the older model but still very good. They ride much better and are quieter than the garbage stock Pirellis...

Edit: didn't catch you were talking about all seasons. I would probably look at Continental for those.

Thank you, yeah even the Contis in 245/35 are back ordered for a few weeks now and I’ve got a flat so I’m out of commission. Was hoping one of the other options would be a reliable/performance fit without having to wait too long!

255/40-18 is too large overall diameter for the RS3 and will rub the liner with any lowering. On 9 +40 you want 245/40-18 max.

You’ll need in wheel TPM. Shout me an email we carry them 👊

Glad it was helpful. Your notes above are correct. The best size for this spec is 245/35-19. Also all seasons in 255/30-19 are very difficult to find if at all.

We've been running Michelin 245/40/18 Michelin A/S3+, which immediately replaced the factory fitted 235/35/19, as they only lasted 3 days on the country back roads we run in VA and W VA.

We are now running Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 245/40/18. All are mounted on Neuspeed RSe10 18x8.5 wheels and have performed exceptionally well. We've been using Neuspeed wheels for over 40 years and they've proven to be exceptionally performing wheels indeed, given our many miles of back roads running on less than ideal road surfaces.

We're now at 37,294 miles on the Audi RS 3 of which 26,852 miles have been fast country back roads only. I've been driving high performance automobiles since 1958, so I've experienced and involved quite a few tire brands and models, looking for the 'ULTIMATE' configuration. Still looking but tire performance quality certainly over the years we've been involved in fast back roads drives, has improved CONSIDERABLY in our experience.

[QUOTE=Paul@SupremePower;14759754]To my knowledge the only one they have that clears no spacer is 18x9 +40

So what is minimum size spacer will I need to run the APR A01 18X8.5 ET45 wheel with 255/34ZR18 tires on my CCB RS3? Will I need longer lug bolts?

Thanks so much!

thank you! No rubbing that I've experienced, I believe you could even do a 255/35 in this spec and still be fine...maybe Paul can confirm for you.

CI-R Nurburgring Edition
19x9 +42 Square

Or use with:

19x8.5 +45 on Rear only for front staggered setup

Wow was searching for these listed in staggered with any details on recommended tires that will look good and wont cause tc issues. Currently the rs3 has these staggered bbs wheels with stock staggered size pirelli's tires and with h&r's lowering springs so its low yet no rubbing at all. Want to change to ps4s, but not sure what size to go with. Seems everyone is happy with 245/35/19 on stock OEM staggered wheels though these are .5 wider in the front and the rear.

Wondering what I should go with 245/35/19's or try to the ps4s standard stagger setup 255/30/19 and 235/35/19? shame others have said they get traction control errors with ps4's on staggered tires.

Hey! Sorry for the delayed response.

Few things:

-I’ve seen several customers over the past 5 years run into TCS interference running any tire other than the Oem pirellis staggered. There are a couple that say it’s fine but I don’t recommend it to anyone.

-255/35-19 is a full inch larger than the Oem 25” overall front diameter and is more than should be done. It can effect shift points and cause TCS intervention especially staggered.

-99.9999% of my customers have gone fully square so there’s very little info on what will work staggered related to brands and TCS issues so if a customer is set on that I’ll only recommend p zeros in Oem specs.

Yep. This is one of my past CIR set ups 19x9 +42 245/35-19 below.

You could also do 255/30 and even 265/30 on the 9 +42 if not very low. But I like the taller sidewall with 245/35.

Sorry for all this confusion Paul. These are already on the car, there isn't 8.5's in the front, just the rear. Here is the following setup.

19x9" Front and 19x8.5 rear. Currently has stock P Zero's tires that need replacing, they have that stretched looking which I'm not a fan of [>_>] Attached photo for reference, also H&R springs.

Ah ok gotcha.

The only square tire that would work is 245/35-19. While not ideal to run square tire on staggered rim you can get away with it.

The Oem P zeros run small with a shallow shoulder so they will look more stretched. That weird lip protector or whatever they want to call it doesn’t help the look either. Going with a wide running brand with more square shoulder blocking like PS4S will help it look less stretched

Still following you here. Don't want to purchase another 2 19x9 just to get new tires, hopefully I can find some solution that in my mind works lol.

Edit:
one last thought, 265/30/19 front 19x9 rims and 235/35/19's 19x8.5 in the rear? This is the only way to get rolling diameter the same.

H&R 28826 (incorrect springs, meant for a3's)
BBS KBA 50610 19x9 ET42 Front 265/30/19
BBS KBA 50608 19x8.5 ET45 Rear 235/35/19. Almost the same height as the fronts [cool]

EMD springs will be here this week and will go on next, surprisingly the ride is so much better with the new tires I almost don't want to swap them lol.

We've been running Neuspeed wheels for over 40 years on a number of high performance vehicles and have been
very pleased with their performance and longevity. Currently running the Neuspeed RSe10 18x8.5 on our 2019 Audi
RS 3 and making fast country back road runs 3 days a week 10am - 2pm.

Have been doing this since 1973 when we moved from Santa Monica CA to Leesburg VA and running many good
condition country back roads. And still doing it now at age 82! I've certainly slowed a bit, but my 64 years of such
drives has certainly given me skills that too many of today's drivers seem to totally lack! My Photo Gallery
shows the wheels I am currently running.

Hope you find some good country back roads that you can run, when they are pretty much empty of other vehicles.

I’ve not seen any Oem wheels in 18” clear the rs3 brakes. The issue is the barrel so a spacer won’t help much.

I’d assume the same here as I believe these are for 2014-2016 A4 which has 320mm front rotor. I really don’t think there’s gonna be barrel clearance for 370mm.

The Neuspeed RSe10 18x8.5 on our 2019 RS 3 running Michelin 245/40/18 tires woks fine with no
fitment issues at all. We're now at 45,577 miles of which 32,238 have been fast country
back road runs 3 days a week as weather permits. This tire/wheel configuration greatly improved the
Audi's road performance and handling on our backroad runs, as the original 235/35/19 tires were
subject to failure, due to their size and inability to handle country back road defects! This text

Is there truly enough space to involve this 9.5 inch wide wheel on an RS 3?

I have a 2019 RS 3 running Neuspeed RSe10 18x8.5 wheels fitted with 245/40/18 tires, necessary to survive
the poor areas of country back roads we run in northern VA. The original factory 235/35/19 died within two
days of driving these roads. Now at 30,396 miles on these roads the 245/40/18 has proven to be a good
size configuration for such poor surface roads, providing good handling and ability to survive such poor road
surface irregularities.

I forgot to mention that the total tire mileage is currently 42,217 miles. The 30,396 miles are pure country
back road runs at speed.

Yes. I’ve sold literally over 175 sets of 9.5 alone for the 8V. Have had 4 sets myself. It’s solid with the proper tire size.

Crazy right? You won’t find lighter without going magnesium.

Its impressive. An additional 2lbs shaved off my wheels at 17.8lbs while being 9.5". Very tempting indeed.

What tire size are you using? I've found that the 245/40/18 is an ideal size given the fast country
back roads we run, that have some pretty 'worn' areas. Michelin Polot Sport at 42,217 total miles
of which 30,396 miles have been fast country back road runs, during the past two years. Tires were
changed to allow better traction and ease the many poor road surfaces involved, when we run 10am
-2pm only on Tues, Weds and Thurs which are always 'quiet' road days. FWIW.

OZ Rallye Wheels 19x8.5 ET38
I've done some research as I'm looking to slap the grey ones onto my Daytona RS3 sedan and these appear to fit with 235's
The result would look like thishttps://images.fitmentindustries.com/web-compressed/1753365-1-2017-a3-quattro-audi-premium-plus-bc-racing-coilovers-oz-racing-rally-racing-gunmetal.jpg

I'm wondering if 18's would fit though because the roads where I live are less than ideal.
A quick trip to youtube/google reveals some successful fitments out there in the real world.

18x9 ET38 all around
BCForged RZ21 in Gloss Bronze

255/40/18 Bridgestone RE-71Rs. Before I get any flak, yes the tire diameter is 1” larger than stock and I wanted it that way. Nice chunky look and much more compliant on the back roads

The rears rubbed JUST a hair on the rear fenders. Easily could have dialed in another .1-.2 *camber rear but It’s since sorta self clearanced but still, if I was to do it again, 18x9 ET40 would be literally perfect and maybe a 3mm spacer in front depending on your camber

I have searched but cannot find an answer. I want to put RFX11's on but have seen some small convos but nothing legit sourced.

19 RS3 - stock height, if anything maybe a one-inch drop. I am getting too old for slammed or really low cars.
Iron
Looking for a near-flush fit

Will these work?
Wheel Size 19x8.5
Wheel Bolt Pattern 5x112
Wheel Offset 35
Assume I can run a 19/245/35 with no issues, 235 if needed. I believe this would be a stock/flush fit.

Would this work? I believe there may be some poke.
Front And Rear Wheels
Wheel Size 19x9.5
Wheel Bolt Pattern 5x112
Wheel Offset 30
I think I could run a 255/30?

Thoughts?

Rohanna says it needs a minimum of 8.5 +25 to clear the front brakes. That would make it a bit too aggressive

9.5 +30 is way too aggressive

Shoot me an email. There are options that work in similar styles

Here they are on mine for winters..

18x8.5 +43 and 255/35 plus 10mm spacer required to clear front brakes. Pictured with 5mm spacer on rear for looks.

I rub some upfront because it’s really flush and I’m kinda low. With a higher ride height it should clear.

If you want to use 235/35 tires than square out the 8” wide, 235’s can be a bit stretched on 8.5’s, or just leave the wheels staggered and go 245/35 on all 4 corners. But generally speaking a wider wheel is what you want.

235/35 to be on the safe side, i was lowered about that much on KW V3's with exact wheel/tire specs and it rubbed the fender liners on all 4 corners.

Heyy! Recently picked up a 8V sedan to have fun with. Was thinking some Kansei KNP's 19x9.5 ET35 and wrap them w/ 245/35s. Is it too aggressive or nah especially if I decide to go w/ HR 30/20 springs

Just a comment on Apex wheels. I placed an order for the 18" SM10 in Nov 2022. Was told they would ship in January. In April I still had not received them, called the vendor and was told 2 more months (June 2023). I canceled the order. Apex seems to be an order taking company, not so much a manufacturing company.

Too aggressive for rear. Maybe if you max out the negative camber back there it could clear on 245/35. Maybe. Those HR go low.

Found a set of VMR V710 local for an extremely good deal. However, they're

19x9.5 et35

I've seen the 8.5 fit fine, but will the 9.5 fit a stock suspension steel brake 18 rs3?

They probably clear but way too aggressive. Especially rear…Will poke.

Also look terrible stock height that aggressive. Like a 4x4.

My dad runs a company that builds off-road beadlock racing wheels for things like the baja 1000. I'll see if i can get a set of those made for the car and see how ridiculous it'll look. What would be in your opinion the perfect size and et setup for these cars? Wether it be lowered or stock. I have access to any diam, width, or offset i want.

Superspeed did email me back and said they won't fit, recommended their RF03RR in 18x8.5 with a 66.6 hub. I already knew those fit and I don't want that design, wrong hub size or 8.5" width which will won't properly fit a 255 mm tire

Disturbing to me that the fitment confirmation depends on who you ask over there...assuming the geometry of the forged PF05RR 18x9, +42, 57.1 (which I asked them about and they said would fit) has the same geometry as the flow-formed RF05RR 18x9.0, ET42, 57.1 (which they emailed you and said wouldnt fit at all)

Confirming the B9 S4 black optics wheels (19x8.5 et40) fit with no spacers required, you will however need a 66.6 to 57.1 hub-ring set but they fit with room to clear.

Confirming the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.3 in 18x8.5 et45 fit, front brake caliper clears the inner barrels with room to spare, however will need a 3mm spacer to clear the calipers on the spoke side, that being said, for a hubcentric, made in Italy, heat treated wheel thats $199 each from Phils, no way you can beat that, i may or may not have bought 8 lol.... Hello Paul. First of all, I would like to thank you and all the members of the community for this topic on which I hope you will find useful information. My situation is as follows: I own an Audi rs3 from 2018, the year in which, at least in Europe, DAZA engines were sold. We in Europe have the Sportback and Sedan versions. I bought this sportback because it seems very sporty in terms of looks and practicality. Finally, browsing this topic, I managed to buy a set of tc105x tires, 18", et43 specifications after reading the whole thread. In general, in Europe there is mostly the stagerred configuration on 19", which I consider relatively uncomfortable, especially on imperfect roads and for daily driving . I came to the conclusion that the only suitable tires for my car would be 245/40/18 or 255/35/18. I tend to choose the ones on 245/40/18. Of course, in the 255/35/18 version, the car might look better, but I don't think it's an upgrade in terms of comfort compared to the original 255/30/19. But I would need a suggestion regarding the tire manufacturer. The Michelin 4s are not available for sale and I was thinking of going with either the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 or the Continental SportContact 7 version. If it is possible, I would be grateful for any advice. As soon as the rims arrive from Switzerland and I assemble the set, I will come back with pictures. Thank you very much for helping me make a decision. Beautiful Sunday.

You’re welcome! Glad the thread has been useful.

I’ve run every possible rim and tire combo on mine since 2018. In terms of comfort, any of the 18” possibilities when used on an appropriate width are a comfort upgrade over the 19”. The 35 or 40 profiles add more cushion. That said and depending on your goals, too much sidewall can be a downgrade in performance specifically with the 245/40. All that side wall while being very smooth and comfortable can get soft and bouncy when pushed hard and under cornering. I usually only recommend that size for drag radials and winter duty for pothole protection.

I’m running 255/35 on my tc105x 8.5 +43 and imo it’s a perfect compromise between comfort and performance.

I don’t believe there is an appropriate 18” size in PS5S for this car yet. At least not here.

Thank you again Paul and all members for this very informative thread . Wheels have arrived this week from Switzerland, since they are scarce in Europe, big kuddos to Weds Europe. I went for the 245/40/18 GoodYear F1 Asymetric 6, as it's a good compromise between all the UHP tyres in Europe, the rim protection also helped a lot. Since my car is a Sportback and the back fenders aren't that wide , I dear to think that will be a nice Catalunya red scarabee and et 43 will suffice. Will post pictures when the setup is mounted, maybe will help some others Sportback users in making a decision. Have a good one.[az]

Update. Finally had sometime today and went to the tyre's shop to get them fitted. I think I made the right decision by going on the 245/40/18. That's because it is a SportBack and you are somehow limited with what the car has to offer you in terms of esthetics, sedan it's wider in the back. Still the car looks nice, drives better. The only questions that needs to be answered if you wish is the pressure of the tyres. According to my reading should be between 36 to 40 psi. What pressures are you folks running on 18's setups ? Thank you and hope you enjoy the pictures

We are running 36 psi with our 245/40/18 Michlin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires on alloy wheels.
Now at 49k mileage, of which 35k miles have been fast country back road runs as weather
permits. A significant improvement over the factory mounted 19-inch wheel/tire original
configuration on our 2019 Audi RS 3, now using Neuspeed RES10 18x8.5 wheels.

We try to make 3 runs a week 10am to 2pm as weather permits, on our favorite country
back roads, as weather permits. Been making such runs since I started driving back in
1957 when I started driving and racing in California and now live in Virginia. Photos
are shown in My Photo Gallery.

On my 245/40/18 I have been using 42psi. But I think it feels better at a lower psi maybe 38-40. I was having trouble with my sensors not liking 36psi.

The TPMS sensor will not accept a lower value, like 36 psi, when the TPMS set has been done incorrectly. Put 36 psi in the tires, start the car and set the TPMS in the MMI, drive the car for at least 10 kms. Do not turn the car off before driving the 10 kms. Sounds like your TPMS is at the factory 44 psi setting and has not been successfully changed. The TPMS usually comes on when the system sees a change of 8 psi. 8 psi is the number (36 psi) that you tried.

OEM staggered wheels, 255/30/19 or 245/35/19 for a square setup?

Currently have 255/30/19, but need to get new tires. The current setup came on the car when I bought it. I like the wider tires, but don't see many people running a square 255/30 setup.

looking for some help regarding wheel fitment. I just purchased a 2018 ara blue 8v rs3, but have had some BBS wheels in storage I think would look good. The wheels are BBS CH123 19x9.5 et45, 235/35/R19 tires. Will these fit on my car? Stock ride height. Will I need to add spacers in the front or rear to clear brakes? Will I need Different tires with different specs? Or will this squared set up fit?

The rims clear the steel brakes and the spec is flush front and rear. By the tires are no good. They will be terribly stretched. You want 265/30-19.

The rims clear the steel brakes and the spec is flush front and rear. By the tires are no good. They will be terribly stretched. You want 265/30-19.

Thank you! Anything else I should pay attention to/be aware of? Like if this would put extra wear on component such as axles?

Nah you’re good. This is the most common 8V spec. I’ve sold literally hundreds of sets in this.

Hello, I understand you probably get this a lot but I went through some pages and didn’t find an answer to an 18” with the most caliper clearance without spacers.. Thank you.

From what I’ve seen and run on mine tc105x 18x8.5 +43 has the most clearance. Next the 9.5 +45.

I have both in stock if needed.

Great thank you! Any other recommendations? Particularly a little less expensive if I do decided to do something cheaper.

Only thing cheaper and clears brakes is Neuspeed. Got those too.

Would RSe10 18x9 +40 work with 245/40? Didnt find anything on sidewall.

Yep that works. If you’re doing winter set up I’d drop to +45. Keeps it in the well a bit more

Do you have any pictures of a 260/30/19 on a 9” rim?
I bought my BBS CIR second hand and he had 255/30 on them. Tread is ok but thinking ahead of my next set of tires. I would like a smidge more sidewall but don’t want to go down in width to a 245/35. Much appreciated!

Hi guys, I have a 2018 RS3 with the CCB brakes. I’ve tried to do my research, but still need some help. In other threads, I’ve seen that A5/S5 Rotors in a 19x9 +33 will clear steel brakes on 8V RS3s, but does anyone know if these wheels will clear CCBs without a spacer?

Thank you for any insights!

Does anyone have any data on thickness and/or brands of front spacers for the Alzor 628 wheels on the 8V RS3? I have looked here and other sites and even asked ECS to no avail.
For anyone new(ish) to this thread (or anyone who might find this via a Google search) don't bother with these wheels for the RS3. They may fit on some applications, but in general they do not fit, and I would not recommend trying them. I wish someone had posted this prior to my experience[:)] Thanks!

Torn between the two.

The 52 has been discontinued to my knowledge and Hyper black isn’t offered in 11R

The 05 is similar to the 52 and is available in hyper black but in 19” only.

Paul, here is my contribution to the wheel topic.. too late but 100
% worth it reading.:

https://lightroom.adobe.com/shares/6d330920497d4dca895a95291f7c5a85

https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/997461-Apex-forged-wheels-installed-Undiluted-true-feedback

In summary, if you are running a lowered suspension like me KW V3 on this specific set: 265/35/18 18X9.5 fronts Apex wheels V5-VRS on Bridgestone Potenzas RE71RS and 245/40/18 18x8.5 Apex Wheels V5-VRS on Bridgestone Potenzas RE71 RS you will rub in the rear 100%. You will need to remove the rear plastic tabs on the wheel well and also do a more aggressive rear camber. I ended up doing a 2.4 and a 2.5 degree rear camber. Now it clears well, absolutely no rubbing. Picture #14 and picture #25 on the first link speaks for itself. The entire side wall is sunk in(squatted down) during hard cornering and there is no rubbing.

Hello everyone, happy new year!
Finally got my hands on a 8V2 RS3. I’m planning to downsize from 19 to 18 and got my eyes on a set of TC105x however they only got 3 sizes in Hong Kong.
8.5J ET32 or ET 43 and 9J ET32 (forged version)

8.5J ET43 would not be on my radar, I’ve used 8.5 35 on my S3 before, which looks flush. So if RS3 uses that fitment it won’t be what I’m going for.

So, my question is. If I’m running 235/40/18 on stock suspension (not planning to change anything in a short period). Which fitment is more “safe”? 8.5 32 or 9 32?

Thanks

Also, is it possible to use OEM caps on TC105x wheels?

9 +32 is not possible on the RS3 8V. Way too aggressive.

8.5 +32 is a hard flush…just at the edge of poking past the fenders. It will look like a 4x4 at stock height. Not a great spec.

If you insist on running 235s the 8.5 +43 is the only option that makes sense at stock height.

Oem caps don’t fit.

Do the Weds tc105x 18x9.5 +35 clear the front calipers?

Paul@SupremePower

Do the Weds tc105x 18x9.5 +35 clear the front calipers?

I haven’t test fit it but it’s the same R face as the 9.5 +45 which clears so 10mm more pad thickness would clear even more.

But why? It’s 114.3 so you’ll need to drill it to 112. And 9.5 +35 is aggressive especially for the 8V rear. You’ll need stretched tires, negative camber and dialed in ride height to not rub.

The 9.5 +45 is bolt and drive. Flush and no need to mess with anything. I have more sets arriving any day now if you want em.

They are 18x9.5 +35 and 5x112 ... Available locally to me in Dubai.
If they are direct fit without any spacers, then it might cost me cheaper than importing a set.

Can you DM the price of the wheels you have coming with an approximate shipping rate to Dubai?

I have a bunch of customers in Dubai. It’s not as expensive as you’d expect.

Can you email me your full shipping address? I can give you exact pricing

Not a chance. That’s an 8Y fitment.

19x8.5 +38 is a decent square fit on the 8V provided the brakes clear. LM-R clear in that spec.

They don’t clear the brakes. The only apex that clear the 8V are the SM-10 in 18x9 +42 which is a decent bolt and go spec. The other is SM-10RS in 18x9.5 +41. This is a bit aggressive so proper ride height, tires and camber are needed to not rub.

Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone has a superspeed wheel setup. Thinking about Superspeed RF05RR Matt Gunmetal "Size: 18x8.5 ET35 5x112 CB66.6" w/ 034 dynamic+ lowering springs. Will this setup fit? Appreciate it.
