View Full Version : Floor mats...

I have the RS design package which comes with the RS embroidered floor mats, but I've never really been a fan of carpet mats and always got the all weather rubber ones for my previous Audis.

It seems a shame not to use these fancy ones that I paid dearly for, but I'm thinking about getting the rubber ones.

What is everyone else doing for mats?

WeatherTech liners. The salt and snow here would destroy them so fast. Will pull them out in the spring and put the RS ones back in.

WeatherTech liners here, too. I had the Audi all weather mats in my old S4, and they looked good, but the WeatherTech liners are bulletproof. If anything escapes them, you have a flood vehicle.

WeatherTech floor liners as well, was first thing I ordered for my car. I use them year round

Using the Audi RS3 rubber mats. Not a fan of fabric mats either

RS3 rubber ones. Picked up the fronts for 80 online from some dealer in Kentucky. Have hade weather tech in the past. They are sturdy and contain rain and slush nicely. My only complaint is they scratch and scuff pretty easily

Pics of mats that it comes with? I just saw it came with basic mats with no RS badging on them.

These are the mats I was referring to, part of the RS design package. They are very nice - and very expensive, when you price out what makes up this package. Thanks for all the inputs, I think I'll spring for some rubber ones.

Here was my solution to the "Winter Mat"...

I ordered a WeatherTech set and added the RS3 Logo for a little bit of a custom look.

I ordered a set of badges off of Ali Express, removed the WeatherTech logo sticker, cleaned the surface well with alcohol and applied the badges. They come with an adhesive backing.

I haven’t driven the car much so I can’t speak to the long term reliability of the adhesive but my contingent plan is to just use some epoxy if they come loose.

huh? The RS Design package (with the red stitch etc) comes with those mats. Which means, you can go buy them from the dealer if you want.

Oh weird i only see the rubber ones online, never saw those. Then again the one they had at the dealer was the grey stitch one. Non-RS design. Didn’t know that was also a part of the package. Still not gonna go with all that red just for some mats lol.

edit: i forgot that was the name for the package with the red stitching etc, i only saw that package once and forgot about it since it had too much red for my taste, air vents is what made me opt out of that package.

Do you have a link for the badges from Ali Express? I want to do exactly what you did. Maybe use some gorilla glue to keep them in place?

Unfortunately it looks like the actual seller I used doesn't have them listed anymore, however there are about 1,000 other vendors selling what appears to be the exact same emblem set. I also looked on eBay and found similar results (although at a higher price). The ones I ordered were only $4 each delivered. No idea how that business model works! Ali express takes a very long time to deliver direct from China but the savings can be sizable.

Here's a few links for what appears to be the same badge set.

The stock Audi all weather mats look like any water would just run through the grooves and soak into the carpet. I had Audi all weather mats in my old B6 S4, and they were great...but they looked nothing like the new Audi all weather mats.

Ordered rubber mats today. I've had my RS3 for 2.5k miles and started noticing black spots on the heels of any lighter colored shoes I wear while driving. The standard carpet mats are utter garbage and they will ruin your shoes.

Go rubber OEM or WeatherTech (clunky, ugly, but effective if you actually have weather)

TuxMat are really nice, so much that I would let them on all year long in my Golf R. Costo sells them under the Phantom brand. I’ll be ordering them soon.

What about trunk/cargo mat? Audi doesn't offer any for the RS 3 that I could find, just the A3. I play disc golf and the bottom of my bag collects dirt/mulch/grass and it ends up in the trunk. Using a towel for now but am seeking a better OEM looking solution. Anybody using one they would recommend?

I have the Audi RS3 rubber mats. These do have a raised lip around the edges, but the lip is not as high as on the Weather Tech mats. The RS Desgn front mats ride in the trunk. Never drove the RS3 with carpet front mats, but I did drive my TTRS carpet mats for a while and had no “black heel” syndrome. Not sure what’s up with that. But I figure shoe heels are gonna show wear and tear anyway.

I know it sounds crazy and it doesnt look bad at all in this damn pic, but in person it's really noticeable and only started happening a couple of months ago when I got this car. Maybe my dealership just let someone with tar on their shoe soles test drive it before I got to it.

Check these heels lmao

i run the matts from costco in all of my cars.. there just like weather tech but the top coating is a nice weaved material that does not fade.

weather techs look like faded crap within one year, especially if you have a winter. Here is a picture of them i order them right off Costco's site. THere cheaper then weather techs too but the same laster cut fitmet and no fading.

I have the OEM rubber mats that have the RS3 logo and they are great. I think they look good and trap plenty of dirt/various things I track into the car. I'm sure you can get cheaper ones elsewhere though so just a matter of deciding if you want to pay a premium for an RS3 logo.

I'll throw this in here just in case. The floor mats design hasn't changed from previous model. I wasn't expecting a change in size because the 8V and 8Y are virtually identical but perhaps you would have thought that there was a change in the design/pattern but nope. If you look and compare the floormats on page #1 on this topic you will see that they are still the same. Pictures here:
