Hi all, i am in the middle of a B7 - 2.7tt engine swop and i am up to the old intercooler hurdle. I am going full stage 3 from the off but i am not looking for max hp just some good reliable torque.
I have fitted Ko4's, bosch ev14 550cc injectors, walbro 255 in-tank pump, so i am aiming for 420/450 bhp.
I have spotted a few good candidates for the intercoolers and have narrowed it to a choice of 3, i would appreciate some feedback if anyone has tried or tested any of the selection and would welcome any further comments or advise as to the best solution or my dilemma.
The 3 on offer are on Ebay UK (.co.uk);

1, item number 182947847751,
2, item number 332412607355,
3, item number 162728509909,

Thanks all,

I'm stage 3 as well. Using stock intercoolers with water meth injection. Tuner was cool with it 👍 Once I get the cash, I'm getting jhm front mount.

What hp are you running at the moment? I looked at a front mount kit but looks quite overcomplex with the swopover pipes on the l/h side.

From the item numbers you provided the, #1 is the RS4 intercooler. This is better than stock, but not the best on the market and will suffer from heat soak issues if you do repeated pulls. #2 is for the 2.0T engine and will be too small for a K04 turbo set-up on a 2.7T. I could not find #3. Too bad you didn't take advantage of year end sales as many tuners had good deals on SMICs including AWE, Wagner, ER (note, they just stopped making them for 2.7T in December :( a potential sign of waning interest in 2.7T engines). Other very good ones come from Apikol, AMD and SRM.

I just got the AWE SMICs with carbon fiber shrouds for $707USD as this was best deal for a modest 450BHP setup on my stage 3 Allroad which had just blown a new turbo after 3,800 miles and the engine was out for warranty replacement, so it is being installed for free! But Wagner and Awe seem to be great for middle of hte road turbo upgrades up to about 500 BHP, the others tend to be more expensive and are good if you are rebuilding your bottom/top end and are looking for 600+HP.
