I tried the coding for turning of the front/side orange marker lights and while it worked great it causes the error or fault code due to it thinking the bulb is burnt out.
Do you have this problem?

I didn’t have this problem. Make sure you’re in long coding and turning off the correct line item. It can get confusing because there are multiple lines that say something regarding to a sidemarker. Make sure you turn off “sidemarker_via_lcm”.

I used OBDeleven to deactivate Auto Start/Stop. (it just tricks the system using a climate control value, so it's not a true disabling). You can find the long code values and use them to do it without using credits, or use the App for "one click" modification @100 credits.

I also turned on VIM (video in motion) and adjusted Comfort Signal from default 3 to 5.

This could be an interesting mod, enable WiFi ClIENT in the car so that it can use your smartphone hotspot for
its data connection, so that you don't have to subscribe for Audi connect services forever...

That is interesting. I’d probably never use it because I don’t care for it though. Seems like an extensive process. I don’t know how easily that would translate to OBDEleven.

I have a S5 SB on order and would like to do some tweaks when the it arrives. I have used the ROSS-TECH HEX-CAN cable in my prior Audis. I have 3; my daughter and son each have an Audi. The HEX-CAN cable will not work on a S5 and ROSS-TECH appears to have gotten greedy with their new price structure. I am looking for a “how to” tutorial for the OBD eleven. I know I have to get an Android tablet but the rest seems to be a mystery for me. I am old and do not know how Android works. I just got my first cell phone, iphone 7. Appreciate if someone can lead me to a basic how to use OBD eleven write up.

There are plenty of tutorial videos on YouTube if you just search OBDEleven tutorial. I know the channel AskDAP has one and they do a good job. Any android device would work whether it be a tablet or phone as lost as you can some connection to the internet. Once you download the app it’s fairly straight forward and as long as you follow the instructions I’ve posted exactly, you should be good.

obdeleven, connect, clik Hamburger icon below scan, Engine Control Unit 1 , click adaption
then start/stop can be toggled, long press on the green V to store

I tried that but it throws off a code saying that the system has malfunctioned. It doesn’t bother me too much it’s become a habit at this point so I just leave it enabled.

Any details on setting double beep on locking the car ?

Actually yes I have found that code I just haven’t enabled it on my car. My car is currently at the dealership trying to get a rattle fixed, when I get my car back I’ll update this with that code.

Not really a coding instruction but it is a bit tricky to get the passenger mirror to tilt down in reverse, here's the steps to
make it happen

Turn car on
Turn on parking brake
Put car in reverse
Set passenger mirror how you like it
Put car back in park

Leave the mirror switch set to control the passenger's side mirror, else it won't do
the tilting ...

Why didn't audi make this an MMI menu option , who knows ...

Unfortunately I’ve been having some issues with my car and the dealer it’s been at and haven’t had time. It was at the dealer for two weeks for a rattle, then once they fixed it and I brought it home, I notice they reinstalled the trim incorrectly that is causing the speakers to shake with high bass. Took it back today. Hopefully this headache will be behind me soon and I can discover more codes for you guys I apologize for the delay.

I know that the red light turns on every time you turn your car on and it’s in dynamic mode. I have the prestige so I can already set that to stay red but I don’t know if I’ll be able to find the code that would let you change it permanently. When I get my car back I can look but I make no promises.

Finally got my car back! And got all the codes for you.

Disable Seat Belt Chime

Go to module 17 “Dash Board”
Long Coding -> “Seat Belt Warning”
Default is “Version 2”. Version 1” displays the logo without chime. “Off” turns off the logo and chime
Green check mark to accept.

Tail Lights on with running lights

If you did the DRL on with turn signal mod in this list, the rear lights should already be on with the DRLs.

Double Beep on Locking Car

Go to module 46 “Central Module Comfort System”
Adaptation -> “sounder_settings” “beeptime_closing_central_locking”
Change new value to “double_beep”
Hold green check mark to accept.

Increase time to open trunk lid with key - I didn’t actually try to see if this worked or not

Module 46 “Central Module Comfort System”
Adaptation -> “remote_functions”
“rear_lid_handle_release_button_activation_time”
You can either double the default value or set any custom value. Value is not in seconds.
Hold green check mark to accept.

I’m not sure why you can’t access that area. Make sure you’re in the right place. It is its own module usually all the way at the bottom as soon as you pull up the modules menu.

I’m not sure what else you can do because it’s worked for me and many other members. I guess make sure your headlight switch is in auto and make sure you’re changing the correct line item. There are a lot of similar ones so make sure you activate the line item that I’ve listed. Also, it keeps your DRLs on but not at full power, so make sure that you’re just not overlooking that.

I don’t believe that’s an available option. The MMI system has like 8 versions programmed and those include the different cars in the B9 line up like the A and the Q and S but they’re all the same color.

There is a pretty long thread over at AW for OBD11 coding. I haven't heard anyone there say the guide in the first post doesn't work anymore due to OBD11 App / UI changes. I'm still waiting for my car so I can't test myself.

I saw this posted over at AW. Might do want you want.

You can set a default startup screen for the VC, for instance the nav/map mode:

* Do a short press on the stop/start (don’t start the engine)
* Set the VC how you want it.
* Short press again.

It should default to that view from there on out.

One of the apps available for the a4/s4 allows you to set the DRL to full brightness I believe. Is there any way to see what the long coding is for the app? I’m asking because I have an A5, would love to run my drls without turning on the back lights

Does anyone know how to disable these orange lights when the low beams are on?

I disabled the orange side-markers, but they didn't effect these lights.

Sorry for reviving this, but are there any other guides since OBDeleven changed their UI and swapped a bunch of adaptation / longcoding procedures?

I just coded the "Unlock Doors when arriving" tonight no problem. The UI hasn't changed for me.

There is a pretty long thread over at AW for OBD11 coding. I haven't heard anyone there say the guide in the first post doesn't work anymore due to OBD11 App / UI changes. I'm still waiting for my car so I can't test myself.

I've been able to code a boatload of stuff. Auto highbeams, I've turned off the Soundaktor, I have the gears showing in Drive mode, I changed how many times the turn signal blinks when I tap it, and a bunch of other stuff. If you follow the steps in that doc, you won't have a problem.

DRL’s on with turn signal is not working for my S5.. Mines already said active for the line u quoted
Not working for me either. I also tried setting "drl_at_indication_config" to "full_available", as that sounded exactly like what I was trying to achieve. But no dice...

So I am one of those unfortunate individuals who purchased a Ross Tech HEX+CAN cable a few years back. While I haven't used it much in years, beyond running diagnostics, it worked great for my A3 8P. I am now finding that it does not seem to integrate with the S5 as well.

Has anyone here had any luck getting this thing to work?? Or am I just being dumb and can't figure it out?

I managed to get a few things coded... I got the cluster to display which l gear it's in while in D or S

and got to turn off the amber side marker in the headlight without any issues.

However, trying to get into any of the '46-Central Module Comfort System' mods for example, does not seem to even be an option for me. The software tries to connect to the module and after 3 attempts I get an error message saying the module is unable to communicate. Most of the other sections in the drop down menu give me an error message basically saying that Ross Tech does not have information pertaining to these vehicles so i don't know what controls what in the Long Coding helper and nothing else is labeled.

Is this user error or has Ross Tech dropped the ball on developing the VCDS for the newer cars? Has any one else had any luck getting these things coded using the HEX+CAN cable???

The HEX+CAN won’t work on module 46. You would need a newer cable which would work then.

These red lights. I think it's the light that comes on when you open the door and a car is coming (bc that happens so often). I don't have the color accent lighting, but think I'm SOL. Thxhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180209/952f81d3d91c658ea53786e62a5b6d7e.jpg

You could contact Ross Tech about cable upgrade options. I upgraded mine to a newer cable a couple of years ago.

The cheaper new cable (VCHV2_Ent, $199, 3 VINs) is also available: https://store.ross-tech.com/shop/vchv2_ent/
