How did you guys root the device? With Kingo root I only get to 97 % and then the unit cuts off the connection to my pc

Recently installed a 10.25 and was loving it for the first two days. Now I'm having some issues.
In vcds I'm cannot clear the fault 02259 (no communication with info display and control head) and intermittently getting 00658 (no communication with control head). MMI will not shut down on occasion.
I thought it might be a loose pin or pinched wire, but all pins are fine and wires have a little wiggle room.
I also have weird firmware:
System: 1.0.1.07061207 (website version is 1.0.1.06281610)
MCU: 5.3.0512
Can:1.1.9.180423 (seems like an older version, April? Most recent is June.)
I tried to roll back the system, it won't take.
I need help, please advise!

why is shipping $75 for the 10.1" unit but only $50 for the 10.25" unit?

why is shipping $75 for the 10.1" unit but only $50 for the 10.25" unit?Cause it's bigger.
10.1 is tall and wide and replacing entire trim but 10.25" is like a tablet. The box is 1.5 times bigger.

There is an 8 pin connector (A of J685) that has two wires for the OEM display that is unused after install. It seems I'm getting errors because of this. Did I miss something? Am I supposed to leave it unconnected?

It is normal, it keeps unconnected. I have the Same Error. But i can live with it. Maybe it is possible to make a "Bridge"

Daniel,
One thing that is bothering me is that I am oblivious to Android notifications and incoming calls when not listening to "aux" as a source. I found an app called Soundabout (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphonerou tingfix)which allows very flexible routing of sounds, provided that there are multiple outputs available. I would like to put in following requests to allow for notifications/voice outputs overriding other sources:
- (preferred) use the center speaker hookup as the "speaker" in android so one can route stuff there which can always be heard.
- Allow connection to bluetooth headset profile of the Audi MMI, so I can route sounds into the MMI phone overriding everything.
- (last resort) Force the screen to Android triggered by voice prompts or notification sounds, so you at least get a visual clue.
And BTW: Thank you for the ongoing support and upgrades. I would have never bought something like this off Aliexpress. Happy to pay a premium for a supported device.

Not so sure that that would be the cause. 30 and 31 are just power leads. I think it is more likely that J794 is sensing that something is not right. RSNAV is probably not emulating the screen on the LIN bus.
Another request:
Many users are doing all kinds of things to adjust brightness. Audi has an ambient brightness value from a photo sensor and dimming values broadcast on CAN bus by the J285 instrument cluster device (17). Maybe you could use this to implement an automatic brightness function?
Measured value block 003:
Channel no. Measured value output Resolution Range
1 Coolant temperature 1°C -48°C - 142,5°C
2 Standing time 4 sec. 0 - 131068 sec.
3 Dimming signal 58d 1 % 0 - 100 %
4 Dimming signal 58s 1% 0 - 100 %
Measured value block 004:
Channel no. Measured value output Resolution Range
1 Dash panel insert supply voltage 0,1 0 - 20
2 Ambient temperature (from AC) 0,5°C -50°C - 77°C
3 Ambient temperature (readout) 0,5°C -50°C - 77°C
4 Phototransistor value 1% 0 - 100%

I would love this feature. I typically listen to a morning radio show on the way to work and sometimes miss Waze notifications.
Speaking of Waze, has anyone else had an issue with it freezing/spazzing out? Maybe 1/10 times when I use Waze, the arrow (showing where you are) is off-center making it impossible to see where to go. Trying to close the app from Waze or forcing it closed does nothing. The only thing that works is rebooting the entire RSNav device.

I am using Waze every day, ( i have a macro to auto-start it with macrodroid) and i haven't got this problem, works flawless. Maybe is a stupid question, But did you try to re-install ?

I dont tink this is possible because only AUX forwards the sound to the MMI.
Using a third party software to overwrite the output will overwrite the sound but as long as you do not secet AUX first it won't work.

Yes that is the current situation. Apps like Soundabout allow to route sound to other outputs. Problem is, there are no alternative outputs right now. The center speaker lead has no function, and bluetooth won't connect to the hands free function of MMI. Soundabout could route sounds there if one of them would be available.

You mean reinstall Waze? I'll give that a shot.
Does your tablet have a SIM card? I always put my phone in hotspot mode and connect the tablet. Sometimes that is finicky as well, so maybe that's the issue.

Yes my tablet has got a sim card.
Just a heads up; this is not really obvious from anything I read, but the promised feature where one could hold certain icons in the launcher for a few seconds and then reassign them now works. I found that by assigning another nav app to the "nav" icon, this has also changed the hard button assignments on my MMI and wheel. So that's very sweet. I ponied up for a TomTom license for a year, and am happy with the more intelligent navigation. I just press nav on the MMI and am taken right to tomtom.
Another app I would like to highlight is "Softkeys more settings" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dogusumit.softkeys_moresettings) where one can have a set of floating softkeys with a totally custom position and size. I positioned them at the top, and assigned the back button long press to start the app that goes back to the MMI interface.

I went and met up with Daniel today and picked up a 3GB/32GB ROM mainboard upgrade. Tonight I did the conversion/upgrade from the 2GB model to the latest 3GB model. Overall it took about 30 minutes to complete, with minimal tools required.
You will need a couple of small Philips screwdrivers, a #1, and a micro Philips. You may also need an 8mm socket if you can't undo one of the nuts by hand.
Sorry the video isn't the greatest, but it at least gives a sense of the level of effort/difficulty for anyone considering doing the upgrade on their own. It's pretty simple if you just take your time and be careful.
When you do the upgrade, you will also need to fully configure the device again as all of your settings are stored on the old mainboard.

A few people have asked about performance with the new mainboard. Everything is fast, no lag anywhere at any time. Having said that, I didn't experience any lag or slowness before, so honestly, hard to tell if it is noticeably faster. With the additional ram it will make a difference based on what applications you tend to use and how much memory they need to function well. (This is computing basics, doesn't matter what platform, so more ram is always good) Additional ROM space is good too, going up to 32GB. Just means more space for apps, logging etc on the main system rom before running low on space. So, definitely an improvement.
For those that are ordering a new unit with the option now, without question order the larger RAM/ROM mainboard. Once the RSNAV folks are able to get Android 7 running on the device, it will likely have greater storage and memory requirements, so future proof now buy getting the newer larger board. For those that plan to perform the upgrade themselves, make sure you update the newer mic board with the mainboard (will come with it) and make sure you have the cables to connect the mic in the right way. (metal strips on cable facing up, original board is opposite orientation). If the mic is not connected correctly, when the system is running, you will not see the headset and mic in the top right corner of the screen. (the sound will also sound like it is coming out of a pop can) How would I know this? had to figure this out with Daniel. [headbang] [>_<]
OK Google, ... I have never used this before, but I clicked on the Google mic on the screen and it answered my questions like Siri would. Is that what is being asked?
IMEI number, I never checked my previous number, but I would have to assume it is different as the IMEI should be a hardware assigned value, much like the MAC address is on a network device. (Someone else please chime in if they know otherwise)
I think that was all of the questions ... ? Please remind me if I have missed anything.

Decided to get motivated and modified my dash trim to flush in the RSNAV mounting bracket.
Cut the original trim so that the RSNAV mounting was flush with the original trim. Plastic welded it in place and plastic filled the gaps. (No not bondo) lol
Sanded everything flush, primed and painted it a flat black. I think it looks better than the original flat silver finish of the OEM trim.

Hi,
Am I missing something?
I'd love to jump in this thread and answer all your question properly, but preparing multiple new items, and helping individuals, I can't really engage on the thread in right time.
The big thing that is coming is 2G MMI model, RHD 10.25" and apparently, Android 7.0 update. Among these, Android 7.0 update has the least progress so far.
Trying to consolidate interests of people who are involved on that subject matter. Android 7.0 conversion is going rather not well due to the unwillingness of MT8786 coreboard maker.
Instead, I am strongly pushing open the entire firmware source and downloadable for devs, so that someone can port Android 7+ ASOP to our systems but some just want to keep the source code and only available to 'view' the codes.
Meanwhile,
There is an advancement on hibernation, BT OBD II support expansion is underway, we fixed few bugs such as an uncontrollable volume in certain vehicles. For 7" and 10.1" firmware, there will be an update as soon as I got my 2010 A4 back from a body shop.
We know of mic issue for 8.8, so if your mic is dull, contact us to get a new mic board.
Also, it seems recently there is too much echo on phone calls(BT and/or SIM) and we are investigating. We need more input. It seems that is spreading among wide screen units such as 8.8 and 10.25, 3G MMI+, in both iPhone and Android(in case of BT, or Android Auto)
Seems most of the july/august shipments are having this issue.
For those who have parking sensor, we do aware that the parking sensor is not properly displayed in our reverse view screen(working correctly in Audi original interface, and sensor is still audible), and for that we will find an Audi with parking sensor, will figure out what's wrong.
This also seems applicable to recent shipment. Just wondering if any of these bugs are appearing to those who updated their firmware recently.

Thanks for the update on progress. From my point of view, the update to Android 7 is less pressing than making the interface work flawlessly. The beautiful thing about this screen replacement is how well it integrates with the OEM systems, and that still has some glitches. Things I think that would make the integration even better than it already is:
-Longer standby period (aka hibernation, 24h would be good, switch off screen and communication to save on power and data)
-Output of notification sounds and text to speech through speaker or BT headset
-Auto brightness (unfortunately, due to the inverted brightness, time based play store apps (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.autobright.kevinforeman.autobright) do not work right)
-MMI button assignments (track skip buttons, configurable assignments for other buttons)
One thing that would also really help would be to have Xposed framework included in the firmware. That would allow for many customizations to the interface and apps, especially modifying app scaling and orientation, modifying the android interface and ad filtering.
Personally, due to my type of use, I would like to have the option to have default android BT behavior. I don't need the RSNav to funtion as a BT headset or as a BT media renderer. However, I would like it to connect to a headset and to other generic Bluetooth gear. I think this might be the case for many MMI owners.
Don't have any feedback on above mentioned bugs, since I use the original interface for parking and use the mic only for voice commands, which seems to work. For phone I use the original Audi MMI BT.
I am sure MMI 2G will be a big seller, had it in my last car, and this would be a huge upgrade especially for the very rudimentary nav and missing mp3 function.

Hi,
Am I missing something?
Do you mean 2G MMI Basic with Red Mono screen or 2G MMI (High) with color screen? Please tell me it's the Red Mono screen.....make me happy.

Because the RSNav brightness works the opposite way you just need to configure the app to schedule 0% during the day and 100% at night. Depending on your location in the world, I know some countries have longer sunlight during the day vs other countries.

Is there going to be some sort of upgrade possibility for us existing customers who would like to upgrade from 2GB RAM to 3GB? For example order the new mainboard and return old one?

There's a rumour that RSNAV obtained Android 7.0 source code compatible with the MT8783 platform and began the migration.
Just a rumour you know. Nothing guaranteed [cool]
BTW, there will be no shipping of RSA/RSB this week, as there seems that a grieve matter happened affecting the majority of the factory members.
My thoughts are with them.

how will this rumored 7.0 work on the current 2gb, 1st gen hardware 10.25" models?
a4android
08-27-2018, 07:07 PM
Well basically it's for the same mt8783, and it would work on 2gb+16gb ones as well. It's yet early to say how the performance would be. But in the first place 2gb ram + mt8783 cpu are just fine spec for Android 7.0. Maybe 16GB seems too little, but it's okay unless you bomb the device with heavy apps. Also, storage is expendable so should not be an issue.
I think due to the JIT compiler, Android N might even a bit more efficient with memory than Android M. Also looking forward to doze mode (so it doesn't need to shut down so quickly), always-on VPN to use with netguard (https://www.netguard.me/), scaling options and better app switching options.
Any comment on getting brightness via CAN bus?

On the drive home today my 10.25 was working fine. Then the screen turned all white except at the corners and stayed that way. I expected it to reset, but it didn't. Eventually it went blank and seemed dead. I also couldn't play anything through media, but Sirius radio worked fine. I was hoping that once I got home, turned the car off and let everything power down it would reset, but that didn't happen. When I start the car this is what I see, and then the screen quickly goes blank. I can get the backup camera (with a lot of white distortion) to come up briefly while the screens below are showing, but after they disappear and it goes black that doesn't show at all either. What is going on? Is my unit dead?

I would say touching right into the corners of the screen would be easier on the 10.25” version than the 8.8” since you don’t have the display recessed at all.

Hi Boere,
I used fiberglass matting at the top of the opening as there was a gap between the two once I had sanded each of them down to sit flat together. The actual glue was a two part glue, that is "instant setting" once you spray the activator on it. It works like magic, but make sure you have the parts correctly aligned as once you activate it .... there's no turning back. They are fused together. I took my time and spent a lot of energy sanding the two pieces really well so that they fit really, really well together. the better they fit, the less sanding and filling would be needed after they were one piece. Oh and glue it a little bit at a time ,as if you were welding it together. Small spots here and there to make sure it is perfectly aligned, then do long bit of glue along the seam working your way around the section to glue together. The glue I used is called Inoteca InstantBond (https://instantbond.com/product/instantbond-large-kit/)
Once they were glued together, I sanded it with 220/320 grit, primed it and then it was wet sanding from there. 320/400/600 wet. Spraying primer on after each sanding until I was happy enough with it. Then painted it with flat black.

I usually answer back almost all even if takes long time...hm.
Anyway, as far as I know 2G MMI is only delayed solely due to test car arrangement. The car owner imposed specific wants like screen size and also it's hard to get a schedule with canbus guys but that was expected at the end of August.
However, it seems Mr. Zhang, our factory owner, and his family is in grief and visiting to their hometown far far away. As the family is a major workforce and supervisors in our factory, the factory is off until tonight since last week.
Thus, I can't get any news or don't want to be bothersome to them at this time.

We just tested Android 7.0 (REAL) on an old 2GB, 16GB unit.
Well, I know that looks awful with the wrong orientation, but what is important is our existing system can boot into Android 7.0 without too much difficulty. [drool]
This is real Android 7.0 for Audi, whereas others are stuck with Android 6.0 under Android 7.1 skin.

This is important also with android 7[emoji6]. In my customer opinion more important than android 7...

I have a couple of questions that I haven't seen answered in any of the threads.
Are there any installers who could put this in (I'm in the Northeast US and willing to travel)? I've installed a few headunits throughout my life and what I've learned is that I'm absolutely horrible at it and always break things and trust a pro over myself.
If I put a sim card in, and then connect my phone via BT, can I make calls and text from the unit using the phones connection, while using Waze/Maps/Spotify/etc from the units sim connection?

That's how my set up works and it's flawless...

I have my Phone Always with me.
So i installed Hotspot Starter on the Phone which allows that everytime the Phone connects via BT to the RSnav, the Hotspot gets started and the rsnav connects to It.
When BT disconnect then the Hotspot is automatically disabled.
Phone to rsnav only Data Connection.
Phone to MMI only Phone Connection.
So i have full Internet Connection over my Phone (i have 14gb every month) an dont need any other Sim.
And when Somebody is calling me, the rsnav switches to the MMI.
Works wonderful.

I think I may use Tasker to achieve what Hotspot Starter does, I have 10gb of hotspot, so I think that'll be enough. If not, it's good to know i can get a tablet line and add that in.

Yeah, that's part of iOS security management. You won't be able to do the same with iPhone unless it's jailbroken.

I use Macrodroid to turn on my hotspot.....works flawlessly on Bluetooth connection.
I found Macrodroid much simpler to use over tasker. Check it out

Sometimes. What I did was to press 2 to 3 MMI buttons when in the Audi MMI screen. Eg Radio, then Car, or Media. Then try going back to RSNAV. Usually works for me.

Ha. Endless homework.
Just let you know, I am having a comfy time in a hospital. It's passing 4:07 A.M. and bored. It's not a biggy, but annoying.
Heard they fixed BT for most of OBD II devices without password. Absense of volume control in android using steering g wheel also fixed.
I found the CarPlay, android auto dongle makes the entire system randomly reboot or black out, if you are not using the latest SW. Still buggy. Errr.
If you have any abnormal symptom, it's always helpful to take a video so that mr.li and mr.teng would know what to check.

For the CarPlay Android Auto dongle, here is the link to the latest firmware (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9fbspztgp4uhwxj/AAC0GAxctS4dVGQ0yF1VLKGIa?dl=0) image (.img) as well as software update (.apk). Once both of these are updated to this level, you can apply any updates directly from the settings page within the CarPlay dongle app on the RSNAV without need to plug in a usb flash drive etc. I updated the RSNAV wiki links to point to this same link as well.

I was able to get DAB+ reception on the RS Nav working by connecting an SDR USB dongle. These are devices that can receive just about anything, provided there is suitable software to render it. And for android there are several choices. However, it is important to have the right antenna for the signal you want to process. I have described it on the wiki. http://wiki.rsnav.com/Add_ons#DAB.2B_via_USB_receiver

Found another alternative for DAB+, unfortunately, it needs other hardware. Another caveat is that the software is proprietary, not in the play store, but available from xda-developers, where someone is improving it with patches. This means it can probably never be included or promoted by daniel for copyright reasons. Hoever, it seems so promising that I'll order the hardware to give it a try. It has steering wheel button control for other android head units, which doesn't mean it will work out of the box with ours, but it might mean it could work with some reassignments through xposed. And there is a developer which might help.

Back of the unit? or can I see it in the software?
How about the Carplay USB dongle, how do we update that?
If anything has to be opened up dash wise forget it, I'll just deal with the issues. Too much crap to take apart

Daniel, the only problem I have is the dynamic parking lines stop working. The 1st time it happen, I disconnected the battery and they returned, however, they have stop working for a 2nd time. Please advise what is required to fix this problem.
Just wanted to share my excitement with the purchase of the RSNav product. I initially started with a generic Chinese brand (DVDGPSNAV). The 7"screen served it purpose without any problem, however, you don't have the luxury of upgrades. I have attached a few photos.

Cross-posting this from the other thread, since finding info comparing the products isn't available yet.
So I've now received my new unit with the 3gb/64gb upgrade, which is a 7" RHD (Australian) unit. Here are my thoughts so far.
On the upgraded board - If you're on the fence about doing it, just do it. My old 2gb unit would take upwards of 2 minutes to boot, but the new unit boots in around 45 seconds. Everything is significantly smoother, and it feels way more like a premium product. RSNav should really make this the default option and just bump up the price of the product.
Android Auto dongle - If you are going to be using Android Auto, pick up the USB dongle. I was using Headunit Reloaded on my 2gb unit and it would stutter, crash, carry on, etc. I could only get Headunit Reloaded to use 480p. I now have the RSnav Dongle, and I'm getting fluid 1080p on the display, connects every time, no drop outs. I didn't think it would work as well as it does, but it's awesome.
I'll add that if anyone in Melbourne, Aus needs a hand installing their unit, let me know. I've installed a couple of them now and it's all pretty simple.

Do you have any pictures of the issue @J_Wingate? Fahrenheit showed fine on my unit, I forgot to change it over to C. Both work fine, in fact.

Thanks for the response! I can take a pic later on, but my issue is that the numbers are off from the actual value. For example when I change the temperature to 68 F on the climate control knob it displays as 62.5 F on the RSNav tablet in Audiwind.

Interesting. I didn't notice that, but I'll flip it back to F on my car later and report back. I've found for strange quirks like this, pulling the Radio/MMI fuse and putting it back in after 10 seconds forces a hard reset that sorts issues like this out. Makes the parking lines work again if it's frozen, too. On RHD cars like Australia, it's in the passenger fuse panel, when you open the door. Might still be passenger for you weirdos on the other side of the road as well.

Updated my iPhone 7 to iOS 12 and now the "AutoBox" dongle won't sync up with the phone. The app loads on the headunit and on plugging in the iPhone the loading icon fires off, but then it just drops back to the "plug you device into the usb port" screen. Hoping there's an update soon for the app. (BTW, does anyone know where to go directly to the "AutoBox" app developers to leave feedback?
You need to update the dongle to the latest firmware (link is on the RSNAV wiki site (http://wiki.rsnav.com/Help%3ASoftware_Update#CarPlay_USB_Dongle_Software _Updates)) and install the matching software file. Then you can perform an over the air firmware and software update. Once you are at the latest versions it will work.
I updated my iPhone 7+ to iOS 12 this morning and had the same issue with the app no longer recognizing that my phone was plugged in to the dongle. I checked for an update within the Apple CarPlay app and installed the update and it works perfectly now again.

Hello all, I just ordered 8.8 inch RSNAV and am super excited to install it in my car. Before I receive the product, I want to prepare for installation, so collecting all info and tools.
Are there any special installation needed for Car with Front and Rear Parking Sensors.?
In RSNAv wiki, I found that OEM Gps antena is much better and can be used with a Fakra extention cable. I am thinking about it. Any suggestions here.? Anyone using it.? Please share your experiences.
Is anyone using USB hub with Rsnav.?
Any inputs here.?

If you have OEM parking sensors, there is nothing special with installation. You just need to set in Realsun settings that you have OEM parking sensors.
I use the OEM cellular antenna instead of supplied antenna. Found OEM marginally better. Try both while running the cell strength app and compare for yourself.
I do suggest running a separate microphone instead of builtin microphone. Unfortunately you need to cut and splice wires to accomplish since there isn’t a mic jack on the 8.8” unit.

Danial of RSNAV has indicated that new units will receive a more sensitive microphone mounted on the bezel board. See how it works. If you have a problem after installing, I can provide info on the wires that need to be spliced into the microphone. Also, when there is a lot of car or road noise, you may need to mute the audio while you speak for the microphone to hear you clearly.

I'm looking for recommendations for what to do about the antenna's for this system. I see on the Wiki that the OEM GPS and LTE antennas can be connected with a couple of adapters and connector modification. I also see the install manual says "Do not connect RSNAV system to the vehicle’s original GPS antenna as they are not compatible."
Does anyone with the unit installed have any recommendations or pros/cons for using:
OEM antennas
Aftermarket antennas
Supplied antennas near rear view mirror
Supplied antennas near center speaker
I do intend to continue using OEM Bluetooth, but I believe that is a separate antenna from the GPS antenna.

Good morning,
Prior to the most recent update for my 10.25" unit for my 2013 Audi Q5, I have been experiencing a lot of random shut downs and messages that say an app has stopped running and gives me the option to press wait or close the app. I have also been experiencing a message 100% of the time upon boot that the Google Play Store has stopped working. When I try to update some of my apps, Google Play Store would randomly shut down and would not update the apps.
I recently did the update and still have the same issue. Is there anything else I should do troubleshoot this issue?

To resolve this issue, go into android settings then apps and clear cache/data in storage for google play store and google play services.
It seems to reoccur every so often though, but you can just repeat the process.

Hey Jmstrag,
Thanks for response. I will give this a shot when I get on break from work. Would this method also apply to the issue with the unresponsive app when it asks me to wait or exit? I only use Waze. I have also noticed some connectivity issues with bluetooth to new devices occurring as well. Do you have any insight on the bluetooth issue?
UPDATE: I tried to clear the cache through settings but looks like it doesn't have any effect. I'm not sure if the button is even registering the clear cache action. It still shows the same amount of data used in cache.

Figured I would add I am experiencing this google play store error too... which started only recently. Clearing cache/data/changing permissions/etc do not fix the problem. No other issues with the unit however, my BT is working fine.
In an unrelated question, has anyone managed to change the start up animation? I hate it and would prefer a static screen the entire time like the one that occurs after the animation completes.

Hi Daniel
What's the bottom line on this?
My external antenna is SMA while the RSA's connector is now fakra so right now I have no antenna connected and barely any GPS signal...
I already have a fakra extension so that would an easy fix if I could just connect the RSA to the car's original antenna...
Seems that this happened to Somebody in the past. But the OEM is an 50ohm antenna, Same as the one from rsnav. Never Had an issue and i have much more Connections to Satellites with OEM.
When you are Not Sure than Install the rsnav near the Center speaker. It is the best place

Daniel, I have the previous version of the file for the 10.25" NA model. Will it help others if I am able to provide a link to it in the meantime?
I have both the August version for ver1.0 of the mainboard, and the earlier September release for the v2.0 mainboard.

Sorry for deviating from the current topic of update.
I have just installed 8.8 inch unit on my Audi A4 B8.5. I am quite impressed with the unit. However I have few concerns, I want to check if you guys have any solution
1. iNav button can only be mapped to default iGoMaps or GoogleMaps. Is it possible to map to any other installed maps (like here, Sygic )?
2. I want to make calls always via the Bluetooth connected phone (connected to RSNAV). Bluetooth phone app came with the device looks horrible, highly impossible to look through 100's of contacts and initiate a call. Also for incoming calls, it does not show up the contact name, just shows the number, its just horrible. Unfortunately I am not happy with the quality of OEM Blutooth calling, again searching through the contacts is horrible while driving. I thought RSNAV would fix my problem, but it remains the same. How are you guys dealing with calling ?
3. I always prefer to make calls via Google Assistant. Hitting the "speak" button, looks like it starts Google Voice Search and not the Google Assistant ? Is this also the case with you ? Is it possible to launch Google Assistant ?
4. Also for "speak" button shot press is OEM voice commands and long press is Google Voice Search, is it possible to invert the behavior ? short press --> Google Voice Search/Assistant ?
5. USB port from RSNAV, does not fast charge the phone. Looks around internet, I found options to use a external powered USB Hub. Does such USB Hub work with RSNAV? Have any one tried ? any suggestions here ?
I know problem 2 and 3 are not relavant when using Android Auto. But I am looking for a generic solution that I can use when not using AA. I preference to use offline maps like Sygic. So AA is not a option always.
Thank you.

andRap,
I don't have the answer for all your questions, but you can change the iNav button to default to Sygic or any Navigation App you desire. Under the RSNav Interface, long press the NAV button and then scroll down and select the respective app (i.e. Sygic) and you will be golden. Just that easy. Hope you get all other questions answered.

I think I found the solution for the autobrightness display!
This device measures light intensity every 0.25s. The data can be passed through usb to android.
http://www.yoctopuce.com/EN/products/usb-environmental-sensors/yocto-light-v3
Then there's just need of an app that uses this data to set the brightness.

andRap,
It appears you are trying to map the Nav button via Realsun Settings. Trying to do it that way will only allow you to change to either Google Maps or iGoMaps.
Using the RSNav Interface, long press the NAV Button. This will allow you to access any Apps installed. Scroll down to Sygic and select it there.
