Am I showing my age when I say that I'd much rather take a bone stock S6? Maybe 21" HREs. That's it.
Hopefully it's not a sign of my immaturity, being 30 in Oct, married with a kid. lol
I'm not all for the tucked, bagged on the ground look. I'd rather it be raised up a little bit. But overall, red c7 with rs6 bumpers ( Im sure that's an rs6? )
lowered on wheels is my path for sure.
Sure i'd love an s6, rs6, r8 etc... I guess I meant "Attainable dream" lol

Yeah, but im sticking to 15-20k for my next used car. Which is okay, it's C7 A6 Prestige Territory, and I'm perfectly happy with that. I actually like the early C7 bodystyle over any of the recent few yrs A6.
It's just those headlights, and those lines around em that are the bee's knee's.
LOVE the lines....

I can pick up premium plus all day for under 15k.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/931/29905202628_97334114bb_z.jpg
Has to be silvere/charcoal color on black interior. I'll wrap it red...
I really want the features though, Heads up display, Thermal Night Vision, Side entry/exit cameras, Front/rear cameras, Cooled seats, cooled box for drinks,
An example is this 2014 A6 Prestige for 22k. It's lacking the LED headlights though. :(
Aside from that this thing is loaded.
What's the black things that look like fog lights... I see them on the RS6 as well. Hopefully not just a blank pretend fog light. lol I assume a radar of some kind.

I would love a c7 S6, but at twice the price I'll be alright with the 3.0's. Hopefully I have as much luck with the 3.0 as I have my 3.2
I'm hoping for another 10yr ownership.
Still. I'm next year probably before actually pulling the trigger. I know you tired of hearing my c7 cries. lol
ericw.

Yeah you're right, the 'fog light' looking things are radar for the adaptive cruise control.
The 360 cameras are a common failure point so make sure you test it while shopping and have them fix any issues before you buy. I'm kinda glad I didn't get the innovation package in my car because there are a few nuances and issues with the features in that package which would be a pain in the ass to deal with if I keep this car out of warranty.

I know it's all personal preference but I'm actually turned away from most vehicles that have all that fancy stuff, adaptive cruise control, auto braking, 360 cameras, night vision.....It's all just stuff to break. I finally got bluetooth and I will say that is a nice feature to have to just hop in and have my phone connect to my truck but other then that, I wanted a pre 2017 Canyon because after that all the lane departure BS is standard and I don't want it or have to find a way to disable it.

I didn’t read too much about it but I guess OCMD was fed up with the riffraff. They had to be raking it in with all the ticketing and the local businesses had to love it with all the food/lodging revenue

All those extra electronics and sensors just add too much complexity and take far too much time to trouble shoot when issues arise. Their goal is to force us to upgrade.

Cheers, on a Monday. Long day of dealing with a customer's shit was deserving. I don't get what some people's fascination is with pointing fingers in the professional world but when they try to say we screwed up, I make a strong point of throwing it right back in their face. We could have just let it go and done the easy fix but they insisted on the hard way and that we were paying for it. Enjoy the bill mfer is all I have to say. Lol

DB admins don't really have much use for java. I do a lot of SQL database administration work under the umbrella of my job and I enjoy SQL coding because it's like a breath of fresh air with how easy it is.

Usually whisky, scotch, or beer but occasionally I'll go for the white wine when i feel a need to switch it up. It's fruit juice so it's good for you after a long week of drinking. [;)]

of course SUG with the hammer, have not had that one but have had others from their vineyard and they're tasty wines.
I've been enjoying french table wines as of recent, they've been pleasantly jammy with some light spice notes and just light enough body for summer days to me. Can't think of any particular fav off the top of my head but I do enjoy the offerings from the Albert Bichot family of vineyards
https://www.albert-bichot.com/en
as always, I have a built in obsession with Oregon wines as well and think they're pushing out some great bottles if you know where to look. I also have one last bottle in my cellar of Continuum that I'm just waiting for the right person to drink it with but It may end up being myself as I know my Cellar is not the best at aging wines and it's been a few years now (parting gift from my former employer before Uinta)
and end randomness on wine but it's nice to think about those grapes again. I love trying new wines when I get the chance.

Love to see the wine talk. We do get into that from time to time.
I'm a big fan of finding big (read: expensive) winemakers that do smaller (read: more affordable) wines. I've made the recommendation to many people, but Caymus has a small vineyard named Liberty School. It's not as bold as Caymus, but it's an excellent daily wine that I wouldn't hesitate to serve even the most discerning palates.

So a couple weeks ago the avant suffered what seemed to be a bad clutch. I lost most peddle feel while driving home. I knew it was about to go completely. Tried selling it for $1100 and no takers. Mind you, this thing is worn in well. 306k on the clock.
I had one serious looker and backed out of the sale. So fuck it, I replaced the clutch this weekend and got her back on the road.
Here's to another 200k! I was so ready to get into something a little more professional too, like D3 A8L. That will just have to wait.
Also, little guy had the old ojo rojo. Had to stay home yesterday.

DUDE. First of many. Rather, first of many little things he'll go through. First couple years they're like sick magnets. Then their immune system gets built back up and they really are fairly decent.
I think our pediatrician said something like 10-12 colds a year. Imagine a cold lasts 2-3 weeks start to finish, and they're basically always sniffling, coughing, etc.
Welcome to parenthood.
Also - D3 A8/S8 is definitely on my list.

Whoa, D3 S8 is a NO GO. Neat, but screw fixing that. Sweet spot is 2004-2006 A8 with a belt driven motor. Perfect for fixing.
I know the little guy will have ailments, just kind of threw me for a loop when the daycare lady refused him. I was on my way to work!

Yeah. Welcome to that challenge too. Got a fever? Headed home. Got a runny nose? Headed home. Got a cough? Headed home. HFM? Headed home. Rash...pox...eczema? Home!
It's bad for the first couple years.
We finally had a discussion with the pre-school when ours was about three that went this way - "we're not going to keep paying you if you're going to keep sending our child home. We know when he's sick, and a runny nose that was certainly passed on from one of the other rugrats here is not a reason to not go to school." That settled things. Besides, since I was on the school board, I give out (or deny) raises! HA!

Lol these little 6oz cuts for 9 bucks will get expensive if I start eating too much of it.

Not sure if I told you but my Austrian friend and his girlfriend came stateside for 3 weeks, stayed at my house for one of them. Then they went off to Vegas, Orleans, and South Florida. I urged them to travel to the Keys.
Just booked my trip to go see them. Delta One on the way there! Had some extra CC points that I've been saving. Never flown in such luxury before. What am I to expect?

The Heavens Opening, angels singing, seas parting...and a long ass trip that is more comfortable than usual.
Yes they take good care of you. Yes you're way more comfortable the coach. If it's on points, that's the way to go...as long as it's not domestic. Since you travel overseas for your vacations, save the points for those trips. The point difference on domestic flights doesn't always make it worth it. Does Delta have a First Class Lounge in Minny? Some of the lounges I've been in have been pretty snazzy.
I'll admit that if I'm on anything other than Southwest, I generally will fly first class - domestic or not. I'm a snob though, and prefer two extra inches of legroom, my own bathroom, free booze and food, and free luggage, earlier boarding, warm wash clothes, free entertainment packages, blah blah blah. We're headed back to the East Coast for spring break and flying American first class. Headed to Hawaii in June and flying first class on Hawaiian. BUT...we're headed to Park City, UT in February on Southwest...so I'm in for the Cattle Call. Thankfully I'm one of their business select clients, so I'm usually A1 - 15.

We were the Northwest Airlines headquarters, so after the takeover we are left with one of the largest Delta hubs. I believe we have two lounges, and believe me I'll be taking advantage of them and all the free food and booze I can get my hands on.
I was just accepted for Global Entry too, so I get to try that out.

Global Entry et al are all totally worth it if you travel enough.
Definitely take advantage of the lounges. I've seen some lounges have wait lists for people to get in that were on points/programs versus purchasers. But given that there are two lounges, you're probably good.
Booze. Literally.
Also, are you taking the little one with you? We flew LAX -> PHL first class with ours when he was seven months old. Man did we get some stink eye. He slept about 90% of the time, and in the end, people were singing our praises as parents.

She thinks we should be conjoined at the hip or something. Mind you, we don't see each other a whole ton. I get home at 5 and she leaves for work at 6. She works a lot of weekends too. Although she is up for a promotion to core charge nurse. If she gets it, no more weekends plus lots of office hours.
I'm home pretty much every weekend, but we still stay busy. Going up to the lake or other weekend events.
Oh yeah, about global entry. Of course I didn't pay for it, was rebated by American Express. Didn't think I'd get it because of my DUI 8 years ago but they let it slide. According to some online forums, I am one of the lucky ones.

Chicken/Rice/Veggies for lunch and dinner.
I lost 40lbs last year, gained 30 of it back this year so back on it, and getting in shape this time.
Pretty basic stuff, 1g of macros per lb of bodyweight. Worked last year, I'll see if it's enough to slow bulk as well.

That green paint is fantastic.
I check in from time to time. Just been busy. Haven't really had much to comment on.
Life has changed quite a bit for me since I bought the 997. I go on road trips with wife and a teenager or two, run errands...husband/dad stuff.
Don't have time to enjoy the car on traffic free weekends. I'll likely part with it for something fun AND practical.
May be ordering a 2019 Macan S next month. It's seriously great to drive. The S5/RS5 Sportback is a possibility, though I'd much prefer the RS4 Avant.
The PERFECT car would be a Panamera Sport Turismo...either 4S or E-Hybrid. I love it. But that price tag...

Tire shopping is annoying. I don't know if i should go with 31s or 32s (currently on 30s from OEM) haha. THen it's what tire to get I need a lot out of a tire and snow traction is one of them
RIght now considering in 255/70/17
Falken Wildpeak AT3/W
BFG KO2
or in 255/75/17 (which might require a lift or triming to fit
Goodyear Duratracs
Cooper Discoverer AT3-4S
BFG KO2 (but this one is $$$ right now)
a lift is eventually in the works I just don't know how I want to lift my truck anymore and it's all money.......and time, which I've been severely lacking these past couple months.
any input RSTy, thinking I'm going to try and get an appointment for next wednesday when I get back from Boise and hope my tires on the truck can hold out a little longer (developed a small leak in passenger front but can't find from where) and they're pretty much all on the wear bars at this point but 60K out of the stock tires seems pretty good to me.

Cockpit is full of CF, so the intake will be CF. Exhaust will probably be dead last, because I already have my truck and this car is supposed to be a surprise gift for the wife. She won't be overly joyous about realizing I really just bought myself another car. lol

S7 has been great. I've only had what i consider minor issues.
Wheel bearing was bad on front passenger side when i bought it. Dealer paid to fix it.
Same side air bag sprung a leak which took a while to track down. While diagnosing, the air ride pump ran too much and burned a wire and fuse so I originally thought I fixed that issue when I actually didn't... It happened shortly after a VERY spirited drive on some very tight twisties on a fairly rough road... so I'll take partial blame. lol
Turbos have been good (knock on wood). I'm doing oil changes at half the recommended intervals to hopefully be proactive in prolonging their life.
There's only 2 reasons to choose EPL.
1) cost
2) ease of removing the tune at home for dealer warranty service
I had EPL, switched to APR because they're constantly proving to be more consistent, faster AND they remove the electronic speed governor where EPL doesn't (and acts offended if you ask them why).

Email I sent dropping my insurance coverage.
Dear Mr. Laugen,
I wish to cancel all of my State Farm policies through your office effectively immediately, Tuesday October 2nd.
I have found your office to be woefully incompetent. I personally own three vehicles, my wife another, and insure two of them year round, while dropping coverage over the winter months on the other two. I expressed my desire to do this while initially being consulted in your office. I was assured this would be no issue whatsoever, and doing so in the past has presented me with no problem from any other insurance agency.
However, in the fall of 2017, I called your office and spoke to Steve. I wished to remove coverage on the aforementioned vehicles. To my astonishment, I needed to take 45 minutes out of my day to explain to Steve that I was owed a refund on the insurance I already paid for. I was fairly confused as to why he believed I deserved no refund. Through the incoherent rambling, it seemed as if Steve failed to understand a customer pays for insurance in advance. If the coverage is not completely used, the customer deserves to be refunded. Again, it took me about 45 minutes on the phone to get my point across. At this point in time, I was fairly uneasy with your office.
In April of 2018, I called your office to place insurance back on to the other vehicles. Again, I experienced inadequacy from your office. For some reason, I believed Steve should be able to handle this. After all, everyone deserves a second chance. The person answering the phone, Matt, I believe, said he would take care of it for me. I took his word and went about driving the vehicles that I recently took out of storage. After all, this was all I have ever had to do in this same situation with any other company.
Again, to my astonishment, I realized Matt failed to bill me at that moment. It was only in June did I realize that this was the case. Of course, your office decided is was prudent to back bill me for your mistake. You can see this in my billing history. After speaking with an agent from another company, I came to the realization that had an accident occurred, it is safe to say State Farm would have denied any claims considering I technically was not covered at the time.
This is VERY concerning and as I mentioned in the beginning of my letter, woefully incompetent. In fact, I will be investigating whether or not your office has violated any rules/laws. If so, I will refer this to the Department of Commerce. At a minimum, I would appreciate a roughly $90 refund for the extra premiums I have been paying this summer due to Matt's failure to insure my vehicles at the proper time this past spring. Of course I won't hold my breathe.
I will reiterate, I wish to cancel all of my State Farm insurance policies I have through your office effective now. Normally, I conduct business via telephone. I find email to be impersonal and less effective than phone calls. In fact, I called Matt about 30 minutes ago to cancel my policies. I am sending this email because I anticipate more issues with your office. If I am billed October 15th as per my usual billing, I will need to produce written proof that I requested my policies cancelled.
If you wish to speak with me, I would consider it a gesture of good will. 320-XXX-XXXX

anyone every worked with discount Tire? they are the Falken Dealer around here and I think i've settled on the wildpeaks for the time being. I'd love a 32" tire but since I'm not lifted it would be a squeeze to fit and I think the MPG and speedo difference would annoy me in the long run so I'm going with a milder 31. I can always swap them out after winter if I want to size up.

Eurocode sway bars are the preferred sways on C7.
If you notice, 034 rear sway is made for the b8.5 Q5 platform. I had it, fitment was weird because the position they welded the tabs didn't line up with the mounting brackets on the A/S/RS7 so i switched to eurocode.
This is everything you need to know about the SRM intake. A lot of people have already purchased and installed including a local friend with his stage 3 wide body RS7. If I didn't buy his AWE S-Flo V2 intake when he switched to SRM (for a great price), I would have bought SRM.

I will level/lift in the future (spring most likely) and was going to pull the trigger of some Fox C/Os earlier this summer, but decided instead to be an "adult" and pay off some debt with that money instead. SO I'll be able to clear 32s after winter but the 31s will give me somewhat better mileage and since I'm still driving 2000miles a month I need to consider that. the truck stock is on 30s
alright, that's decided. time to order some tires and make an appointment to get them new shows put on.

Cab, yeah they are. Was owned by one guy until he died recently. No joke all 900 plus stores was owned by him. Started the company in 1950. Everyone from the bottom up, started at the bottom. There is no hired in as a manager. I guess that's what I liked about the company and if I wanted money I would have stayed. Every full time employee is an assistant manager, so dont let that be a way someone tries to win you over. Next promotion is senior assistant manager. This position is held by only 1 person per store. They are next in line in the region to become a store manager. And that's what it's all about. Having your own store. Once you promote to store manager your given a store. This is the only person who makes money off the sales. It's a percentage of what's left after paying, the store, the people etc...
So a manager can make 50k plus 20% of profit. And when I left we were clearing 500k in sales a month. Not profit. But still sales. After that you have state assistant vice presidents. State vice presidents, state presidents then regional.
I heard our avp make 300k salary, he brought the state vice president in once. Dude spent years changing tires but you could tell he didnt get dirty anymore. Which is fine he warned it. Just crazy how from bottom all the way up it was strictly inside promotion.
Anyway yeah it's a good company. You can haggle on price too. Even if its 10 bucks a tire that's a dinner for ya. Lol

this doesnt really fit in the home improvement thread since this isnt my home. Its just photos of work from my 2nd job....
this is a nicer house we've been prewiring and thought you guys might get a kick out of some of the IP related stuff and work during construction.
We did all the low voltage in the house including IP CCTV.
In this house, the IP CCTV is a very small part of what we did. ( 7 Cams )
Obviously lots and lots of cat6.
some cat5e, Alarm wires, Speaker wires, Coax etc...
Got the cabinet up yesterday and all of our low volt pulled through.
The cabinet swings open for easy access to the multiple patch panels and equipment we'll have to put in there.
Here's an older photo when we did the prewire.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/798/26965425538_33b3991d4c_c.jpg
And just got the swinging cabinet up...
https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1949/31535657828_f003241be1_b.jpg
Each room has 2 plates and most look like this with about 7 rooms.
Next to the beds where a night stand will house each rooms equipment like
tv box, dvd player, game system or audio player for the room.
https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1931/43594290810_5360c1b021_c.jpg
And plates behind the tvs in each room
Coax RG6, HDMI (from other side of room) (2) Cat6 and (2) cat5e.
The 2 cat5e's have a specific role. One is for controls of tv/ir etc...
The other is cctv display from main closet. Cat5e can stream 4k no problem but not sure if the stream is 4k or 1080p yet for this specific install. Regardless it's plenty fine for the purpose.
One Cat6 is for Data and the other cat6 is a spare/extra. Lots and lots of other Cat6 data drops through out the house. Door bell locations even got cat5e for video door bells.
Regardless, every single port has a 2" smurf tube in case anything needs replacing or adding.
https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1972/31535675828_f1924fef6f_c.jpg
So here's some photos of the smurf tubes. Every port got one that runs all the way to the attic for future access if anything needed to be replaced, added or removed.
2nd floor tv location, you can see the downstairs smurf tube as well to the right.

Anyway, I thought some people here might enjoy the photos of how pre wire is sometimes
ran in a larger residential home.
This guy has fingerprint scanners for his doors coming into the house.
I was surprised to find they're relatively cheap now at $159 from home depot/lowes.
Something I'll be replacing my digital locks with so i can get in faster with that bag of groceries.
I'll come back with an update once we punch down everything in the cabinet.
front porch with a front yard eave cam also in the back ground.
Turrets. 8MP ip, Again you can tell clients all day that a 2mp star light has better night image and clarity
and sometimes it doesnt matter. If the neighbors have 4k, they have to have 4k.
And if you don't do it, they'll hire someone who will. I say this again because I'm well aware the 2mp starlights are better night performing cameras but until you're literally told face to face "I'll just hire someone who will do what I want" it can be hard to understand sometimes.

allroad is at the dealer for the coolant after run pump recall, but also so they can fix the A/C which barely blows cold.
They tried to tell me there was nothing wrong with it, I said BS, it barely gets cold on LO. Fix it.
Good thing the car came with a CPO warranty. I've never had a more problematic car from Volkswagen AG.
So I've been driving 2018 Audi Q7 loaner for the last few days. It's a big beast, but it's smooth and comfy. I love virtual cockpit.
Conveniently we're cross shopping third row SUV's, so it was good to know that such a thing will work for us. But it won't be a $70k Q7.

Good engine for sure, but I'd be going Macan S. But they're too small for our newly reclassified needs. I often have to pack a folding wheelchair in the car for the Mrs' chronic illnesses, and it requires putting a seat down...hence why we liked the Q7. It's huge. So we're looking at big SUV's that let me get the wheelchair in there while keeping the seat up. Third row is not mandatory but would be a nice to have too. Drove the Acura MDX, it's pretty good. Checking out the XC90 and Disco this weekend.

Bingo. I'm on the same page. Trying to take my company up that way. Been close a few times, but still waiting on that perfect moment.
Our market opportunities up there are huge, but our competition is as well. Agree on the climate. Cost. And I just like it up there. Even with the winter/spring weather it's gorgeous.

Plenty of people have outdoor hot tubs up here. Just costs a bunch to heat in the winter.
I can't believe that 455 acre parcel is only 2 million, especially in that area.
The "cabin" is located on the most desirable lake in the state beside Lake Minnetonka. Anyone who has big cash has a second million dollar+ home on Gull Lake. Not too many places in the state that are insulated against housing dips, but that is one.

Honestly, I use it (almost)every morning with my coffee. First 30 minutes I catch up on emails and work stuff. Then 15 minutes I just close my eyes and listen to the waterfall and the jets. Gets my head right.

If you want to go full baller status, stay at the Marriott Mauna Kea. Though even if you don't stay at Mauna Kea, you can use the beach there. I highly recommend it. Gorgeous white sand beach, and there is very little visitor parking, so it's never crowded.

nice i'm digging the red seats. This car handles snow amazingly well, better than my A4 i think because it's quite a bit heavier.
This car has a 66.6mm wheel hub and i *think* the a4 had 56mm hub. Check on that before you make the trip.

Truth is, I had never driven the 4.0tt. I bought it because my wife loves the S7 hatch. I honestly prefer ‘15 S6 prefacelift, but ultimately, it was a gift for her. Although I wanted an E63 since I’ve driven the C63s and I don’t like how F10s look (but I really wanted an F80)
Anyways, the S7 is incredibly smooth power delivery. Simply, effortless. I can imagine what the APR tune will give me.

We're going in February for 3 weeks. Flying in to Oahu and heading north to Kuaola and Haleiwa for outdoorsy activites, then heading back to the Honolulu for two weekends, then flying out to Kauai to see the Nepali coast, then back to Honolulu for one last weekend.

we did the kitchen already for the most part but wife still wants to paint the walls, she just can't decide on a color. Now we're in early planning stage to replace all the 1st level+stair case floors. We've been 'cold' in NorCal. It hit 38 one day because the smoke has blocked out the sun since the fires started. I'm in a 'hazardous air' zone, it's pretty bad out here. Not as bad as the burn zone though.

It's Minnesota. Do I have a choice?
Yep. Move. I hear Florida is moving left, like Minny. You'll fit in.

I was on a conference call with some folks in SF yesterday and today, and they were telling us that the particulate matter ratings were stupid high and they were wearing effing masks.

Yeah they gave SF a 'bad air' rating and Sac/Roseville (where I'm at) a 'hazardous air' rating. Went to the grocery store and i was surprised to see that it was smokey in the store too, and we're at least 2 hours from the fires. You definitely notice it when breathing. Lungs feel heavy and like early signs of bronchitis. I'll be wearing a mask when I go out later. Thankfully I still have a stock pile after the Sonoma fires since everywhere is sold out again now.

You've got a newer home, so your seals and windows hopefully are keeping most of it out. You check any of your filters for the HVAC? Wondering how shitty everything's looking.

Changed filter and had HVAC service done last month so we're good on that front. I think I started feeling it after helping a buddy do his DSG service last Saturday. Men don't take precautions until it's too late. lol

Sun was out this morning but seems to be disappearing behind the smoke again. Construction sites are back to work though, they were all shut down on Friday due to air quality.
S7 got bumped in a parking lot by a lifted jeep so I have to go deal with the insurance circus act again. Very minor damage, you wouldn't even see it unless you're looking for it but, it's on the rear quarter panel crease so we'll see what the estimate comes to in a little bit. Sucks that it happened but it was perfectly timed 30 seconds after i reconnected my dash cam. Glad I was in the car or I'm sure the guy would have left.

Totally would have left. And that totally sucks. The crease lines are always the worst because PDR really won't do much there. It's very hard to make look good. #fullreplacement

He knew though, he reversed after he hit me then pulled in beside me after I got out of the car.
He didn't seem that sketchy though so we will see how the process goes and if he accepts fault.

Oh, I see someone is getting out of that car - I better play dumb, park, and say "oh, did I hit you? I couldn't tell..."
He totally knew.
Hard not to accept fault when your car is parked. But yeah, hopefully he's not totally sketch.

Received 4 estimates
3 estimates were right around 1500
4th estimate was 3000.
The 4th shop (highest estimate) gave me a lesson on why the others were cheap. Audi recommends blending the quarter panel clear coat into the roof, where the other 3 estimates are not blending into the roof, they're making a hard line at the rain gutter.. The S7 doesn't have a rubber trim piece in the rain gutter to hide this hard line though, so it would be a visible hard line.
Here's the hard part... The guy wants to pay out of pocket because he says his 2 teenagers both had 'at fault' accidents this year. (insert "apple doesn't fall far from the tree" line here)
He had his wife call me and give me the guilt trip about hoping they can afford it. Christmas. etc..
The decision I have to make is... do I let them cover the 3000ish or do I ghost them, give their kids a Christmas and go through their insurance while becoming the asshole in their eyes?

It’s not your fault. So you’re not the asshole. Accidents are exactly that, but we deal with the consequences. The only other option, hit up the first three shops and ask about the blending issue. I’m sure there costs will be more, but maybe not $3k. Happy median?
If not, always go insurance. Had a lady that hit our A4 Avant years back and she wanted to take it to “her guy” who was an oil change shop but “could do work on the side.” Hell no. She said she’d pay out of pocket. I told her what my quotes were. She balked and said she didn’t even hit the car hard. I ended up 1) calling my insurance to deal with her so I didn’t have to 2) going to the most expensive European repair shop around.

Quarter panel damage sucks. You'll want that fixed the best you can get.
I recommend getting them to write you a check. If he doesn't like it, you can go through his insurance. People lie all the time about this stuff so I would take the Christmas story and toss it out the door. That winch/bumper on front of that thing costs about what it will take fix your car. Dude has the cash.
So is this the second or third time your S7 has been hit?

Good point. Dude's got thousands into that Jeep. He's either in debt up to his nose hairs (probably the case), or has cash hanging around (still probably the case).
Some cars are definitely magnets. Sucks. One of my wife's first vehicles after we got married was that way. People couldn't stop hitting it.

It's the second time the S7 has been hit. I'm hoping to have the auto body shop charge them before the work is complete so I don't need to touch any money and the repairs can be done asap. Still hoping to make a December 2nd Shriners toy drive car show with the crew.

What is everyone shopping for on Black Friday/Cyber Monday?
I'm not going to go out and fight the traffic and crowds but I have a small list of items to check on for online discounts. Nothing too exciting, just things i was planning to buy anyway...
1. "Smart" automatic sprinkler system
2. APR downpipes
3. JL 8w3v3 subwoofer (unlikely JL will be discounted)
4. A few regular maintenance items like windshield wipers, oil change stuff.
Hoping everyone's shopping list will help jog my memory on something I forgot to write down yesterday. haha

Not sure I've seen it go on sale. I got mine on Amazon a year and a half ago.

Is this for the sprinkler valves also? I want a completely wireless system - no wires running from the valves to the main system or anything.

No. You still have to have wires run to the valves. The wires run to this sprinkler controller just like any other controller.
It is a great system.

Ok. Not what I want. I want to avoid wires altogether! I've only found what amounts to battery operated valves, which make for individual timing systems. I want an all-in-one system that has remote valves with a single controller I can put in my garage (where my current controller is).

I’m going to assume you will never find what you want. It requires physical moving parts so batteries won’t last long... The controller sends voltage to the actuators. I wouldn’t trust batteries.

I didn't find a sale on the rainmachine so i just ordered it anyway.
I was minutes away from ordering APR downpipes but found a performance shop who offered to use my car to develop 4.0t downpipes. Guess I'll roll with this for now and hold off.

At the crank yeah. 2.7's are torquey bastards with small turbos. There is a publication out there stating that was the goal of the engineers, to have diesel like torque. And they do, available very low in the RPM range, I think around 1700. That's damn good for a gas.

Unless I catch a hella deal on 300 feet of fencing I'll save my cash.
Speaking of which I got a lot done over Thanksgiving. Cut down a few more trees in my backyard and burned a huge amount of brush. I still have some more trees to cut but my backyard project is coming along.
