I went with the red footwells as well, to match all the instrument lighting and my magma interior. Just installed over weekend and loving it so far. Yeah, the rears were a bitch! I broke a small corner on one of the lenses. It's hidden under seat, so no biggie. Also installed the LED strip for the trunk. Wow! Never thought I'd need that much lighting back there, but it's probably the best <$40 mod I've done on the car!

Just received and installed their reverse LED's on my 15' S4. I had an old set of USP's RFB reverse LED's, so this comparison is based on those.

The deAutoLED's reverse LED's are probably 30% brighter than the USP LED's. They are also error free and plug and play. Very happy with how bright they are, another quality product from deAutoLED [up]

The LED fog is cleaner (Less star burst glare created). While the Stock fog bleeds into part of the brake light and creates a star burst glare effect.

Not to mention I nearly burned myself pulling out the stock rear fog. it was extremely hot after being on for maybe 15-30 seconds only...

go with the LEDS much cleaner, cooler, better, longer lasting.

Ok all, here is the write up on the DeAutoLED rear LED reverse lights vs stock & the license plate LEDs.
The overall assessment on the reverse lights is get'em. Totally worth it. Brighter by far. I can actually see in my rear camera now. Night and day (pun intended) difference.
The License plate lights, well, they don't fit. The actual piece looks nice, and I'm sure it's brighter, but they aren't plug & play with the Audi wiring. They sent a wire adapter with them, but it does not fit the Audi wiring either, and to be honest, the small end plug that fits into the light housing itself is pretty flimsy. Not a solid click in like the OEM one. I'd recommend skipping these, as I am sending mine back.
So here goes the install on the reverse lights. Easy Peazy. Trim tools required and one Phillips head screwdriver. Reference above link I put in my thread for a video.

In the S3 sedan, the inner bulbs towards center of the trunk are the fogs; these are baY9s type bulbs. The outter bulbs are the reverse lights with baX9s type. They baY9s are longer vs shorter baX9s bulbs; because of the base configurations, they ARE NOT interchangeable. You can try to reverse fit them in the bulb tray but they won't fit.

Interior LED DIY:

Thought I'd post some quick thoughts on this interior lighting kit from deAuto Key. One disappointment with this car is the lighting is pretty soft and well, not much of a premium feel. When comparing the lighting to my brothers MK7 GTI, I'm still amazed in how much value that car delivers. Back on track here, deAuto Key's product is the fix.

Service & Support: To keep it simple, top notch as always. It's not so bold to say that deAuto Key is the go to for interior lighting.

Installation difficulty: If you have the right tools and an IQ equal or greater to a 5 year old, you're good to go. If you don't meet this, go see your doctor right away. A couple pix below.

All LEDs are labeled. This eliminates any confusion.

I'll target the front dome light because this is where your brain encounters a test. Once the upper unit is dropped, in the center there's a round housing with the bulb. Simply twist and it pulls out. Here's where it gets "tricky", pull the OEM bulb from the round housing and input the new bulb, then twist back into place.

MISC. Notes: If you happen to blow a fuse. Stuff like this happens. You'll need a 7.5 amp and it's position 29 in the fuse box left of your steering wheel. Having tools for electronics can be helpful in popping out original bulbs. If you do want to retain original bulbs it might be worth keeping them free of natural hand oils or from your greasy pizza. If you put them back in, they can go pop.

Results: Crisp, clean and a more premium feel or look I should say. A cheap and easy must alteration. No sense in posting before pix. A couple pix of the overall look should be enough to help sway you if you're looking to do the same (vanity, trunk and glove box are all part of the kit). Now off to installing PSS10's with the KW delete kit- later MAG ride.

Hi everyone. *I finished up my weekend project and swapped my interior lights from ugly yellow to crisp LED's. *I've been wanting to do this for a while and finally got around to it. *I thought I'd share a few pics for anyone thinking of doing it to their rides as well. *I went with the full interior LED kit from http://deautokey.com/, and added the red floods. *I don't know why the car didn't come with all interior LED's from the factory, but I think it's a huge upgrade over the stock lights. *Some of the lights were a PITA (specifically the rear floods), but overall it didn't take too long to do the swap. *I definitely recommend getting a trim kit if you don't have one. *It really helped with the install. *I went with red for the floods to match the interior lights and offset the brightness a bit. :beer:

For anyone interested I just picked up some led reverse light bulbs and led fog lights from deAutoLed for by 09 a5. I have no errors on either and they’re both super bright. Links and pictures are provided.
I know it’s hard to find error free reverse leds but these truly are plug and play, no resistors or coding necessary. Same for the led fogs.

-THESE ARE BRIGHT! You might have seen the novelty fog LEDs that can turn yellow/white on amazon and ebay by the thousand that don't provide much useful light, trigger errors, die quickly, or simply don't work correctly. Our new model fixes every issue you might've seen and simply works.

Will your fogs keep changing colors if you use them as cornering lights?

The answer is no as this only changes by turning your fog switch on/off. If you are using your fogs as cornering lights it will always be the default color of white.

How does this work with the coming home feature?

This works just like OEM. It will always be the default color of white.

What if I have the yellow feature on and turn off my car; will it then go into the next color when I turn it back on?

The LEDs will always revert back to the default color of white. Then simply turn the fog on/off for your desired color: yellow/halogen or strobe/flash mode.

Can these turn 360 degrees?

Yes, these are a fully adjustable design so you can turn these 360 for the best beam angle.

Are these as bright as your single color de360 fogs?

While not as bright lumen wise it comes very close - many people that have switched to our single color white to our dual color yellow/white LED fog kit have not noticed any difference in visibility. As we said this is NOT a novelty yellow/white you normally see. This is meant to be used to help with your visibility.

Can you bypass the strobe feature?

Yes, this works when you turn the fogs on/off quickly. If your next mode will be strobe simply shut off the fogs for a few seconds and then turn it back on and it will go back to the default white.
