Ordering 2016 RS7...Audi Exclusive Color

I'm about to order a 2016 RS7 and don't really want any of the color options they have available. I like the Daytona Gray, but already have that on my S8. Suzuka Gray is no longer a standard option on the RS7, and I don't want to pay the extra for a car that essentially looks white. I'm thinking I'll go with the Audi Exclusive and do Classic Red Pearl with Cloud Gray interior and classic red piping/accents. I've never seen the Classic Red pearl in person, though, and wonder for those of you who have seen it on any other Audi think of it. My dealer is supposed to be trying to get a sample of it for me to look at. I want something more "burgundy-ish" than the Audi Garnet Red but don't want it to be too dark. Opinions, please!

Amulet Red would be right up your alley... Was a TT MK1 color. You can do some searches for Meem over on Quattroworld- he has a fine example of one. Very deep red, excellent color.

If I found what you're talking about (which I think I did) that looks a little too "red" for me...the amulet looks pretty similar, I think, to the Misano (which is pretty, but not personally what I would want). I think the Piemontrot is another that would be closer to what I'm looking for, but again so hard to tell without seeing the cars in person! If you google Classic Red Pearl A8, those pictures look stunning. But pictures can be deceiving, so that's why I was wondering if anyone had seen the Classic Red in person.

I'd love a personal driver! LOL! Then I'd get an A8L and just sit in the back seat and enjoy watching the scenery go by. Really long story, but I had a 2012 A7 and loved it, so I decided to order a 2014 Suzuka Gray RS7 with lunar silver sports seats. I had an unforeseen abdominal surgery before taking delivery, and ended up declining at the last minute to get the S8 instead (for the more comfortable seats). It's an incredible car, but the exterior is just so bland. I want to go back to the "7" body style. The few 7's I see around central OK are either black or white, with one Misano red and I know the dealer has two sold Daytona Grays on the way (one pearl, one Matte). My favorite colors are burgundy, navy blue, and forest green. I don't want a green car. I've considered blue but it would have to be a pretty dark hue...but not so dark as to appear black. And that kind of leads me back to something in the family of red. I don't want fire engine/cherry bomb red. The Garnet is nice but I'd like a red with a bit more blue/purple to it. I think I like the Mica, but it's getting a little darker than I think I want. Have you seen the 2016 A7/S7/RS7 brochure? I was looking through it and saw the car on page 49 and it was "BOOM. THAT'S the color I want!!!" It's just a matter of trying to confirm what color "that" is (pretty sure it's the Classic Red) and I want it on the RS7 not the S7. However, if not red, what color would you suggest?

Back to colors.. I'm not sure of many Exclusives aside from the various tones of grey as well as blue. But in my opinion I feel there are too many of those cars (grey&blue audi's) I love solar orange as well as misano red. But it's your choice to make :) Good luck shopping

Seems like the blues are getting all the love! I found a pic online comparing three different blues (Nogaro, Estoril, and Sepang). Of them, I really like the darker Estoril best. If I did blue, that's what I would want, but it aggravates me to think I'd have to pay such a premium to get it on a 2016 when it was standard just a model year or two ago. I have to do a custom order because I refuse to have an all-black interior and the comfort seats are mandatory for me. This will be my first car ever that's "colored" (i.e. not silver/gray or black or white). I already know I want a new Q7 when they come out, and was thinking of blue for it, so I think I'll probably stick within the family of reds for the RS7...unless I get really wild and go Amethyst. Here's the red I'm leaning toward.

That looks very nice! I'm meeting with my local Audi sales manager either this evening or later this week depending when we can get our schedules to match up. I'm hoping he'll have the full book of colors available to go through. They don't do customs very often around here, so this could be a cumbersome process! I think my top choices right now would be Classis Red pearl, Shiraz Red metallic, or the Palace Blue pearl. Here's a picture of an A7 in Shiraz.

honestly? get white and pay for a wrap - since you want to protect your car anyway. then you can get a new color until you figure out what you want.

Beautiful! Must be a trick of the lighting, though, because that looks more Suzuka than Nardo. The CO package really pops against that color. Too bad the mirror housings aren't a part of the package anymore. My original RS7 build was Suzuka Gray with CO package.

I have Suzuka and I can tell you that doesn't look anything like Suzuka. The gray in Suzuka looks much more fainted than Nardo. It looks almost white and with the hint of gray which is more pronounced when it is in the shade or in the evening with little sunlight and it will look white again after sunset in the night.

My local dealership does not have a color book, so I've emailed the only other dealer in Oklahoma to see if they do. If they don't and can't get some sort of sample, then I may try Dallas next. There are a ton of beautiful colors from which to choose, and several blues that I really like [particularly Palace Blue and Estoril] but I think I'm sold on a shade red. It's just deciding between Classic Red Pearl, Piemont (which appears very similar), Shiraz (which appears darker from photos, although that can be very deceiving), and perhaps the Red Mica (although I think that's getting darker than what I want). I doubt I'd be displeased with any of them! I see you have an RS7 with sport exhaust...if you drive the car in comfort mode (blasphemy, I know) does that significantly reduce the crackling and popping when downshifting?

I've had root canals that were less painful than the Audi AE ordering process, but it's finally done!! I stuck with the Classic Red Pearl exterior, with carbon optic package and CF side mirrors! The order guide didn't show the CF side mirrors as an option, but the sales manager mentioned it and we were able to add that on. The interior will be full Valcona leather in Cloudy Gray with Jet Gray contrast stitching. The center seat stripe and seat piping along with the stitching on the floor mats will be Classic Red. Now all I have to do is wait patiently for the next 5 months or so for it to arrive.

Can't view your pics.. How long did your car take from order?
I'm not sure why you can't view them, as the person who posted after you indicated they could. My apologies. I don't know how to remedy that, or how to post within this thread or I would. The order officially went into the system in mid-May, the car arrived at the port in Houston just before Halloween, and then was trucked to Oklahoma City after being released in Houston. After that, it had to be prepped and then I took delivery Nov 6th. So, right at 6 months. I guess it's about 3 months on any order (from placing order to receiving vehicle), and then doing Audi Exclusive adds another 8-12 weeks.

Yes, the factory was impressive. Friends and I visit Germany every 2 years to go to the Frankfurt Car Show plus visit a lot of factories. When we were at Neckarsulm in 2013 we did the special R8 Tour. This time we did the regular factory tour.

Actually, I wouldn't have done AE except I couldn't get the comfort seat in anything but black. Since I had to do custom for the interior, I figured I might as well do custom paint, too.

Thank you! I'm loving the car. I went from the A7 to the S8 to the RS7. The "7" body style is definitely my favorite. I almost wish I'd done the headliner in contrast stitching like you did, but overall I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. I should get the CF handles, rear console and spoiler done in a couple of weeks. Still waiting on the parts. I can't believe as nice as everything else is in the vehicle that they put that cheap ass looking rear console in, and don't give the option of covering it in leather or CF from the factory. Hopefully by the time I get the pieces installed, I'll have figured out how to post pics on here.

I think a good installer is going to run you around 4k and they should last 4-5 years I'd imagine. Our work truck wraps are cheaper material and we get that amount of time on them and they're outside in the sun 24/7.

Off the top of my head I'm thinking something like the Suzuka Gray in matte, or perhaps a dark purple/black (basically something like the Panther in matte), or else I will just go with what HeelBuff did, and choose the Daytona Matte.

And if I decide that is just too much moolah, I will probably go with Sepang or Panther.

I'm in the middle of a 42 month lease on an A6 3.0 Prestige, and so I figure I may as well take my time and order exactly what I want and in the meantime, get closer to the payoff on my A6. I also would like to wait and see if any news comes out on what they are going to do for '17.

Heel, are you cool with the aluminum optics, or do you wish you would have gone with the black optics (carbon package)? That's something I've gone back and forth on in regards to the Daytona matte.
