2003 A4 3 liter Sport Package Front Suspension uper link replacement

Unable to remove bolt from top of steering knuckle that holds both upper links to knuckle. have used penetrating oil, heat sparingly, bit of hammer action and gear puller tightened very tight. will not budge.
COst of new knuckle list $651 so trying to avoid purchase.

Also found steering rack rubber boot in left wheel well badly ripped. Should I clean and replace grease on rack and if so what grease recommended?
