With the colder weather rolling in, the stock brakes on my S4 are squealing again under light to medium braking. I asked a tech at the dealership about this and was told that it's normal during cold weather. 15K on the car now, plenty of life on both pads and rotors. Never had this issue with my A4 and no sounds during spring/summer. Seeing as how I'm not mechanically inclined, it seems that a +$50k car shouldn't have this problem, even if the pads are stock. Any thoughts?

The OEM material composition of the S4 brake pads are more aggressive than the A4, which would warrant the potential for unintended squeaking during operation until warmed up. Don't be too concerned about squeak if your braking performance hasn't degraded as well. Older models were equipped with wear indicators that made the squeaking noise by simply contacting a thin metal tab to the rotor once the minimum pad material level was reached, but now being that the S4 has an electronic pad sensor, once its tolerance is reached your DIS in the cluster will inform you.
