I have a 2000 S4...

My car was running fine...my CL came on (it had intermittently come on in the past) and was about to check codes, but hadn't yet...

I then filled my gas tank at Safeway--I've had some sputtering issues and a temporary CL when I've been there before, but it was the only one close and I was worried that I'd run out...

I drove 10 miles home, with no problems...shut off the car, then a couple hours later started it again and had an obvious misfire...engine was shaking and loping...[facepalm]

Checked the codes and had a number of them including cam sensor read error, N75 Open Circuit, Cat sensor error, Random/Multiple Cilinder Misfire, and Cylinder misfire on 2, 4 and 6... !!!

Checked the coilpacks, replaced the spark plugs, cleaned the injectors, then got N75 Open Circuit, Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire and Cylinder misfire on 2...

Checked the ICM's and now I get Cylinder Misfire on 5...

Injectors seem to be fine, I have compression, but the intermittent misfire on different cylinders has me stumped...[headbang]

any ideas?

ok...the latest...

I bought an N75 valve, another coilpack and 2 new ICM's...first switched the coilpack...and nothing...then switched both ICM's...and no more misfire...phew...

Now I'll run the codes again to see what else is showing up...I didn't replace the wastegate valve, yet, though...
