Noob question... Stock 2.7t needs turbos.. What else required to go k04?

As title States,

I have a 2005 allroad 6mt 2.7t. One of my turbos is on its way out(poured about a cup of oil out of the intercooler inlet hose today while doing an oil change).

I'm prepared mentally to pull the motor and swap out some stuff.. A cheap pair of K04's can be had for $600-$700. Can't spend a whole lot of money otherwise, I know I'd have to do some sort of ecu alteration. If I ordered an ecu somewhere, what stage could I select With an otherwise stock car? Thanks!

Inlets are needed or mod the stock inlets. You can run them with stock programming etc but you will not see the true possible gains.

Also not sure about that pricing on k04's seems pretty cheap, unless they are china reps k04's. Check out the B5 S4 section there is tons of info there on this subject.
