I have a 2000 A6 that has NO fluid at the bleeder valves on any of the four corners....only air. Brake pedal is soft; there is some resistance but pedal essentially goes to floor. Used Motive Power Bleeder at 30 lbs. psi (service manual recommends at least 29 psi) with absolutely no change....even at that pressure, no fluid is traveling through the lines. There wasn't even a sound of escaping air when each bleeder valve was opened. Reservoir is full, AND there was no drop in fluid level as pressure was applied and a bleeder valve was opened.

Background: Last summer, had ABS module rebuilt to be rid of the annoying warning tone and light. Did other work to the car (replaced valve cover gaskets, etc.....nothing else brake-related). Prior to these repairs, the car had sat idle for nearly a year. After repairs, car drove well for a few days, then had an increasingly soft brake pedal. My memory is that trying to bleed the brakes produced very little fluid and a lot of air, but it's been a while, so this may not be accurate. Due to time constraints, we parked the car again, and it has sat for nearly another year.

Should I invest in Vagcom to bleed ABS unit? I don't want to spend the money if the problem is in the master cylinder or elsewhere. I can't figure out why NO fluid is moving, even when using Motive.

Suggestions?
