If you have the chance, go check it out in person. The phrase, "pictures don't do it justice" applies heavily to this car. Looks decent at best in photos, but in person it's a whole nother ball game.
I stopped by New Country Audi of Greenwich last night and drooled all over the showroom window, they have one on the floor and I'd suggest taking a peek if you are nearby and have the time. I am NOT a Nogaro fan, but I would drive the shit out of that car.
The way the colour fits the body lines is just, perfecto.

I like them wheels. This looks just like sprint blue to me. How much extra do they charge for this package?
http://i62.tinypic.com/zxwikm.jpg
i think it's something like a 10k premium, well into the 60's... beautiful but not worth it, especially since you can now get Sepang blue.

It's probably even worse than that. If a dealer has one, they will probably want a mark up over MSRP or at the very least sticker price. You'd be able to get $4K+ off the price of a $62K S4 these days. That makes for a pretty big delta. Yikes!

IIRC, it's around $62-65k sticker. Definitely a wallet-raping premium just for this "option".

Yes, Satan? Oh, I'm sorry sir. I mistook you for somebody else.
I know, I done fucked up without pics. I'll try and head back with my camera this week when they are open and not at 11PM.

Agreed, but I do like that Audi is offering packages like this for those that want them.

I don't know anything about this "Nogaro Edition", but what I'm seeing in the photos is a non-standard color (around $3000 IIRC from reading forum discussions here) and a set of flat-faced B7 RS4 style wheels, likely 19x8.5 size (can be had from VMR or any other number of replica dealers for $800). So who in the hell is paying $10k for these options?

The alcantara seat and door inserts are blue, too. The interior trim is the RS4 trim IIRC.
Personally I don't think it's worth it, and my S4 cost almost as much as this being a completely loaded Prestige (all options except black optics and rear side air bags).
Some people like having special editions though- exclusive factor. While I understand this (and generally prefer more limited run cars), for this car I prefer spending the money on more usable options.

Sepang is better than nogaro.

Would suit it better as a black edition or black optics as you guys call it.

I would never give that dealer the pleasure of a sale. When I was looking for my S4 last year, I contacted them about one they had on the lot and the sales guy says come on down and check it out. Drove 80 miles only to discover it had been sold the day before.

Nogaro is a beautiful color, its a very loud shade of blue. Not sure I would pay the premium for it over Sepang or Estoril though.

This is officially an 'Avant' in the Audi brochure and an Estate here in the UK. I thought you over the pond call cars with a boot or should I say trunk, a sedan ??

His comment in that thread was a pretty blatant joke, so I think we can avoid crucifying him for that one. If anything, his comment in that thread solidified his liking for the RS4 style wheels.

3 yrs down the line, do you think a Nogaro SE edition will be worth the extra premium you will be paying for it? I doubt it. Although I do like Nogaro, I have to admit that l like Sepang better. I love the RS4 style wheels . Best looking wheel for this car. So get the Sepang and swap for Rs4 stlye wheels and you will have a better looking car that will retain a greater percentage of its MSRP.

I get your thoughts but generally people don't by new cars thinking much about resale values...pay your cash if you like it and enjoy.

Well If the avant was over here from the get go i would of boughten my S4 sooner. I love the S4 look in avant fashion. But I couldn't and wouldn't pay that kind of premium for a car with special paint even though it looks so good. I would buy it second hand and let the first owner take the hit. Its just like dealers charging 20K over sticker for limited edition cars when they won't be worth anything over book value. There will never really be collector cars again like there are now with classic hot rods mustang camaro and the others. The only cars that will hold their values will be the exotics. I would like to get a new Imola yellow one. I had a B5 imola and it looks sharp.

The Nogaro B5 holds a premium over any other color, so I do think it can/will maintain at least some of its higher value to the right buyer. Maybe not on a trade-in or CarMax type of deal, but to the knowledgable buyer, very possibly.
