Wondering if anyone here has had any issues with corrosion on their coilover.

My fenders are getting rubbed a lot because I have it too low and I don't want to roll them. I tries raising up the car and they seem to have seized. I tried some lubricants but nothing can get it to budge. I even tried using a hammer on the wrench to see if I could get it to move.[wrench]

What do you think? Am I screwed?[headbang]

I would like to bump this thread, I'm interested to know about how coilovers hold up to winters as well.

I'm looking into upgrading my suspensions and ST Coilovers are one of the top choices on my list. I live in PA though and we get a good amount of snow in the winter.

From research, I've seen a couple people saying they're bad for winters, a couple people saying spraying the protective wax should work.

You're not screwed. I have had this happen with Raceland coilovers on my old Jetta. I also cleaned up some used Koni coilovers I bought. Take a fine wire brush and WD-40 to clean them and you should be back in business. I would recommend you do this once a year. I also adjusted the height several times a year for shows, winter and summer ride heights and sprayed white lithium grease on the threads each time. With that all being done I was able to adjust them buy hand when there was no load on them.

QFT - Also using a thin coating of marine grease on the threads is perfect for those of us that run coilovers in the NE during winter.
