This problem started a few months ago. Abs would just randomly clamp down on the brakes and not let go. Thinking it was a module problem I unplugged it and it drove fine. Then later reared it's ugly head and left me with red hot rotors on the highway. Initial investigation revealed that both rear calipers were seized so, I replaced them, blead the brakes and abs pump and the problem went away for about a month. Then a few days ago I randomly got a abs light and a stupid hard pedal however this was a random issue and after a short period with the car shut off, it would resolve itself until last night the brakes clamped down like before. However this time lighter than my previous experiences. Now, I swapped my car to a 6 speed last year, I still maintain the automatic vacuum hose routing for the brakes. I'm leaning towards replacing the master cylinder but any ideas are always helpful. I would also like to request that anybody with originally 6 speed cars could you please post some pictures of the hose routing on your vehicles. In the meantime I am going to remove mine and try to get rid of all the automatic components I do not use anymore ie thrust pressure sensor, vacuum pump etc. Codes pulled were brake light switch F implausible signal and G201 brake pressure sender 1.
