Hey -
Just installed a set of Vogtland coils w/ a set of 034 Upper control arms in my B6 S4 a few days ago - Density line with the aurora bearings. Car handles MILES better than it did with the stock, severly worn pieces, but there is some clunking over rough patces. Have searched, cant seem to get a clear answer..perhaps I'm not searching correctly. Just wanted to know if a clunking noise is typical with heim links. I've heard that they can be noisy at times, I've also heard that they're supposed to be "silent". Want to hear from anyone who's had experience with these --

I have the same arms with stasis co and swift springs. The clunk or a thud started 6 months after install on small elevated split road cracks. When the wheel is hit from to rear, I hear the clunk. I am hoping it's just cold weather. I plan on luring the aurora properly in the summer with ptfe lube

^^Definitely hoping it's just the weather, may try teflon lube as well. My clunking started immediately, hopefully it won't get worse..

Only on bumps, dips not so much --

Same - it's the aurora heim bushings. Lube them and re tighten the Allen bolt on top

I get a clunking noise as well with my SPC Adjustable UCA Motorsport Edition. The bearings are metal vs rubber....would lubing my bearing with some lithium grease alleviate the noise?

Ptfe lithium grease is fine - it's a trade off as grease attracts dust but try it anyway. Are you able to fit boots on your UCAs?

Yeap, boots are on there--albeit a biatch to put on. I have some spray teflon grease (HD lift truck grade) that I'll touch the heim's with this weekend --

My noise was due to an alignment as I have the SPC Adjustable Upper Control Arms...See other thread

I had the 034 adjustable CAs on for just over a year and swapped the OEM upper CAs back in because of the noisy Aurora ends.
The rubber boots got torn because of contact between the Aurora-end jam nut and the suspension upright. Once that happened, water and dirt got into the ball joint and the play in the joint just got worse. I might buy the rebuild kit at some point and put them back in but I'm quite satisfied with the OEM arms at this point.
In hindsight, I'm not sure I needed adjustable arms at all. However, my stance is not that low to begin with.
If you continue to use the 034 arms, I would suggest grinding down the corner of the uprights so the CA doesn't make contact with the uprights.
