Hi everyone, really need some help and advice. I recently bought an 08 Citroen C4 grand Picasso, driving perfectly but yesterday on way home from work there was a sudden loss of power (boost) and a whirring or drill like noise when i tried to accelerate. T he car continued to drive ok but just took forever to get to 100kph.I'm told it could be the turbo but there was a new turbo recently installed (by previous owner). No warning lights on dash no smoke just very sluggish. PLEASE HELP.

Your turbo is bad. That sound is your bearings. They are no longer good. You need to find out what replacement the previous owner placed in. There is a strict quality control when it comes to turbochargers. He could have very much purchased an ebay replacement and those don't last too long. When you replace your turbocharger, I bet the one taken out (blown) is not the same brand you will be placing back in if replacing with an OEM unit. You need to replace your turbocharger. And be sure it is an OEM replacement or a unit that is tried and proven efficient (you would have to research this yourself).

Don't know. That vehicle is not offered in the US so not sure. But factory turbochargers usually are not cheap ($500-1500 USD). Then labor cost comes in to play if you can not do it yourself.
