I picked up two of these, one for each of my B6s. It worked great with my Moto Atrix 4G and currently works great with my Galaxy S4 Active. Have run stock roms and modded ones (eg CM, PA and AOSP) and haven't had any real issues. Install was a breeze (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/555345-Review-D-I-Y-Dension-BT-Gateway-Lite-(Also-known-as-my-journey-towards-bluetooth)),

Yes the GBL3AI2 works perfect on the RNS-E and I have never not had it not work on a phone but here is the official phone application guide.

Just ordered. I have a VWR-AUX now, which is like the AU2-AUX based on its description, and it doesn't let me do anything with phone calls. Ordered the same items as NyteEscape did so that I'll still have an AUX in should I want it.

I'm working on the videos for the mic run. I've shot it at least 5 times but the lighting never comes out right. Maybe I'll just post one of the ones I already have.
I take the foam cover off the mic. Cover the sides with electrical tape. Keep wrapping the electrical tape around the mic until it fits snugly in the hole below and to the right of the sunroof knob.

Christian, where does one hook up the mute wire that is on the harness that comes with the bluetooth module? I didn't see any information about where to connect it in the install guide, and there is only a passing mention of it in the user manual. Other than that, no issues and installation was simple and straight forward. For the ground wire, I put a ring terminal on the wire and fastened it to the radio housing with one of the screws on the back of the radio.

while looking at back of the stereo, it's the middle plug of the left column. you can also see here the blue tap that i used to ground it.

No the OEM mic has a different resistance than aftermarket. I have never seen an aftermarket application where you can use the factory mic.
We are working on a video interface that shows the info on the RNS-E for about $500 but it has a wired remote. Its made by dension. and the navigation is amazingly easy. the unit also has bluetooth built in. Does your unit use a separate video module?

I just bought the GBL3AU2 and it arrived today.
First of all the installation video was great, setting it up was easy and I was able to get all the tools needed from Enfig (4 head removal keys and 1 Posi-tap).
I'm having a problem with bluetooth paring now though. I've tried on 2 different Android phones and both can find the Dension unit during bluetooth scan but when I attempt to pair, the phones say "Unable to communicate with [unit name]".
The phones I tried were a Galaxy S3 (stock android 4.1.2) and an older HTC phone running android 2.3. My car is a '05 B6 A4 sedan with the symphony II radio, exactly the same as in the installation video.
After a few searches I found out that the firmware could be updated on the Dension unit, using a USB flash drive. I completed the update to firmware 1.12 and I was able to play music from the USB drive perfectly (before and after the update).
After the update I tried again to pair my phone and now the device isn't visible at all. Has anyone else had a similar issue? Any suggestions? I'm really excited to get this working.

When I first installed the unit, my phone didn't want to find, let alone pair with the unit. I cycled power to the radio, letting it sit off for a little bit, then turned it back on, and my phone found the adapter. I entered the pin, and it connected, but didn't stay paired. Cycled power again, and since then, I haven't had any problems with my phone connecting to the Dension unit. I have a Note 2 on 4.1.2.
Hooked up the mute wire today, even though I think it's probably useless for me. Also got some 4-40 machine screws, washers, and lock nuts from work and mounted the USB/AUX part in the glove box.

Thanks for the tip imnuts. My unit is working correctly now and it's great.
The first time I successfully paired my phone required several power cycles of the radio before my phone found the dension. Then the phone failed to pair about 5 times before connecting (also the bluetooth pin 8888 wasn't obvious to me at first). It's worked every time since, I guess this just needs some patience. Very happy now!

Glad you got it fixed. For anyone else the dension only pairs for about 30 seconds after you turn on the car so t needs to be paired as soon as you turn on the radio. Android phones don't always fully forget a phone so you have to restart your phone after an unsuccessful pair or the dension may show up under available when its not really available.

Just bought the Dension GBL3AU2 Blue tooth adapter for my 2004 B6A4 and I love it! Installation was a breeze and I was able to run the USB/Aux input cable to the compartment under my armrest in case I wanted to directly connect it. However I noticed the adapter doesn't like the iphone 5s lighting cable.. I keep getting this message whenever I plug it in:
http://www.miliandesign.com/images/photo.PNG
And it pops up every second and goes away repeatedly so I can't press anything. Anyone else have this issue?
BTW not sure if this is a well known thing but I searched for a while and apparently the PIN code to sync up your phone to the bluetooth adapter is 8888.

Will be interested in if you figure anything out Max as I have the 5S as well ^
Update:
Got it in and it works great, fast shipping and excellent product! The call quality and bluetooth streaming is great.
Max I also found you need a separate cable to use and ipod/iphone device. You can't just plug your iphone cable into the usb port which is meant solely for usb sticks.
