View Full Version : C6 S6 brakes on C6.5 A6, what would be needed
Looking at how much it would cost to upgrade to S6 brakes. Anyone with enough experience know how feasible this is and what parts would be required?
Stock 3.0T A6 brakes are 347x30 and the S6 brakes are 385x36, any issue with a much wider rotor?
I figure at the very least I'd need:
rotors
calipers
caliper carriers.
Anything else?

I just bought a set of s6 brakes. Came with caliper, pads, rotors. I just need to figure out if there is a difference between the the mounting bolts on my a6 and that needed for the brembos

I have a set of C6 S6 brakes for sale in the Classifieds and there is a link to the writeup of them being installed on an A6 3.0t. Apparently, you dont need to swap spindles when you install them on a 3.2 or 4.2. Only the 3.0t cars require the spindle swap.

I am talking about a c7 because (from exploded views) the brakes aren't the much different in terms of mounting. But all I can go by are exploded views on Google.

The c6 and c7 mounting are different. Almost all Audis will have similar mounting for the front brakes, but small differences make them incompatible, or requiring custom machined mounting brackets in order to fit.
The link I referenced shows what is needed to make the C6 S6 brakes work on a C6 3.0t car. For the 3.2 and 4.2 C6s, you wont need to do the spindle swap.
