2001 B5 A4 Avant 1.8T swap to a A4 2.8L 30v engine single turbo

So i am new to this forum, actually never used any forum before. So let me know if this is the right area to put this post. Ive had my 2001 A4 Avant 1.8t manual for like 4 months now. Im looking at doing a 2.8L swap with the sub frame and the trans and a single Borg Warner 66mm turbo with S4 over sized forged pistons. Before i came across this idea, i was just gonna do a 2.7T swap but there is a 2.8 at the junkyard with everything there for like $350. I wanna do this swap over the 2.7t because its a little different from the usual swaps. I was curious what other people thought of it, any recommendations, what software or ecu i should use, if i can use a bov or a dv. Ive heard i can use eurotronic or standalone but not too sure yet. I dont wanna do standalone, cause its gonna be a daily driver. I would like to get around 400awhp so i can be safe on the factory rods. Ive seen that the 2.8 and 2.7t share the same rods and crank. But seen that you have to drill the 2.8 to a 4 bolt main. Ill be starting the built within the next 30 days, and will keep this post updated with everything, for anyone that is interested. I expect to have it running in 6-7 months, from start to finish. But I know how that goes... So if anyone has information or input toward this, I would greatly appreciate it. Im always open to learn new thing. Look forward to hearing from fellow Audi enthusiasts.

Btw when I buy the motor for the car ill be selling the 1.8T with everything, wiring, ecu, turbo, transmission, etc. All stock, low mile, new turbo. Let me know if interested. [:d]

ok i have a 2.8 myself and have been really wanting to do the same thing. iv been doing a lot of research on this myself and theres not a whole lot of info on it. the best thing i can say is there is a thread on here for a guy who was gonna do it to his but ended up scrapping the project for an s4 single turbo. the good news is 034 motorsports has made a kit for a single turbo for the s4 but it uses the 2.8 exhaust manifolds and with some moving around of things in the way should bolt right up to our cars. iv been kind of stumped as to what to do with the engine management myself thats the main uncertainty i have right now. im defiantly excited to see someone trying this as i want to too but first i was going to swap in the s4 drive train first and its my only car so its kind of hard to find the time.
