I removed my winter wheels today and attempted to mount my summer rims but could not get the wheels bolts to screw in. At first I thought it was the bolt so I used another one but the same thing. I thought I was going crazy.
I put a flashlight to it and found that the bolt holes were no longer round, they were oval. The rotor had shifted and covered part of the threading of the hub holes. I eventually released my E-brake and rotated the rotor to realign the holes.
Is this normal that the rotor could rotate so easily? Should I have a mechanic look at it? I am not mechanically inclined.
