NOTE: Sorry for the double post guys - new to the forum - this is in the 2.0T section as well.

Hello All,

New user - first post.

Just bought an '09 Audi A3 Quattro 2.0T. Has an APR Stage 1 chip on it, and came with Carbonio Intake and APR downpipe.

I'm having the downpipe installed today and I get a call from the shop saying that one of the bolts (top front) between Turbo and DP is snapped off. [o_o]

They tried to remove it but could not. Said I'd have to remove the turbo and drill it out, or ride with only 3 of 4 bolts attached.

What should I do??

That seems awfully expensive - but I don't want a leak between the Turbo and DP obviously. Anybody else deal with this?

Thanks!

Well I would hope that they didn't snap the stud off and now just say it is broken....

Not sure if my last post went through.

I would say don't ride with 3 of 4 installed as you would have a leak and loss in hp also would put more strain on the other studs.

I am shocked that a shop cannot get this out?!?

90 degree drill head and a crap extractor bit and some patience should work wonders

Thanks for your reply - they said it was corroded and wouldn't budge with the stud extractor. When I picked it up they said it hadn't snapped off entirely, so they were able to get a nut onto it even though it's only "half on" if that makes any sense. I might try another shop to see if they can get it extracted and replaced. Right now I have other more pressing issues involving a check engine light.

Thanks again!
