I Ordered a window regulator, and it broke again shortly after install. It has a 1 year warranty with them so i initiated an RMA. After trying to contact their customer support through email, i finally gave up when they weren't even giving answers to the basic questions i was asking (stock/template answers).

I tried their phone support first, and it's an absolute joke--the number just disconnects, or you wait 20+min on hold. When you finally reach a person, they have the shittiest VoIP connection and you can't understand what they are saying.

I wanted to buy another regulator from them, and have them refund the broken one when i shipped it back. Unfortunately the regulator is now out of stock (and has been for 3+ weeks). They don't know when it arrives so they just tell you to wait 3 weeks and check again. Since im sick of driving around with a non functioning window i asked for a full refund so that i could go buy it somewhere else. After a super lengthy LiveSupport session, they refused saying they could only give store credit.

Long story short, stay away from Autopartsway if customer service is important to you. Anyone else order anything with them? If so, did you have to ever deal with their customer service?

I ordered a couple HID bulbs from them without any issue. But I wouldn't use that experience to gauge the worth of their customer service. Generally I buy parts from the dealership, especially for something like a regulator and in fact, bought both front left and right regulators at Queensway. I justify the extra cost of the parts with the fact that I do/did the labour myself. I put them in about 6 months ago and they haven't given me any trouble.

I use these guys http://www.bestpricecarparts.com/, and when I had issue with a item they direct me to a warehouse Worldpac where they ship all items from in Mississauga Derry/Columbus rd and exchange item on spot.
Autopartsway and http://www.bestpricecarparts.com/ and other similar sites don't have warehouse they just people running business online and they use 3rd party company like Worldpac to process and ship items,
next time you have an issue email him if you can go directly to their warehouse and exchange for another one I bet it is Worldpac in Mississauga

I have used autopartsway multiple, no complaints however I have never had to deal with their support people.

Same... I've spent a lot of money with autopartsway.com and have always had good experiences. But I have never had to return anything or speak with customer service personally. I did initiate a web chat with CS in regards to questions about a specific product and that went very well.

Ordered a few things from them, mostly all smooth, right parts, fast ship etc.

Only thing was I had a headache last time refunding a bad window regulator (go figure) - not because they weren't willing to refund, it just took them a long time and they kept getting the amount wrong! They actually ended up refunding my cost to ship them back the broken one as well (they shipped me a regulator where the green tab had already cracked) which was a pleasant surprise. They then got me a new one and it's been in several months so far (we shall see!). Although it was pretty disappointing/annoying to receive the part and have it be broken on arrival due likely to what appeared to be a poor wrapping/packing job...but I suppose these things do happen.

Could see them being hit or miss, but they generally seem to run a pretty tight ship.

Sounds like their cust. service gets rattled whenever there's an anomaly in the normal process!

that site blows... they don't seem to carry anything near what autopartsway does, plus it's got a horrible layout

How long did that part last before it failed? I ask because I bought & installed a new window regulator from Autopartsway about a month ago and so far, so good. I've been using Autopartsway for many years now and have never had any bad experiences with them. I had to return a few items but never had any issues. As "audifirst" says, their inventory is at Worldpac's warehouse in Mississauga. The guys there were pretty laid back and, all in all, the returns went smoothly.

Thanks Das Audi.

Just too bad I didn't know about this forum sooner. I could have helped dariussquared months ago. Looks like the whole issue started as a mis-communication from our customer service and could have been easily avoided, and is clearly an error on our part. I'm just glad that dariussquared accepted my help at this time and I'm happy to assist.

received an RMA# from apw_rep. I boxed up the part, and shipped it back -- out of pocket $20 for shipping because it wasn't advised to drop off at warehouse in Mississauga because they could lose it (even though i travel nearby often). sent PMs to apw_rep to let him know it was shipped; No response from apw_rep in weeks. no refund to paypal.

I guess i'll have to play service-roulette with the live chat and see where that goes (i don't have high hopes considering my previous experiences). I thought things were looking better....but I guess i was wrong. Good thing the part wasn't expensive. [mad]

it does sucks...
I am not sure if it was my luck, but I had twice parts shipped to me incorrect and each time I was able to get exchange at Worldpac location brought my part and order and they exchange on the spot,
hopefully you did ship with tracking ? because if you did, I would go to worldpac warehouse you need to go to the back and find out what has happened they will help you out..
they can access accounts and orders and if any RMA was requested on your behave they can see it

so i've been emailing customer support back and forth all week. in summary, they wanted the tracking number of the return package. i provided. they said they would process refund as soon as they received the part. The catch?--the part is confirmed delivered by canada post almost 1 month ago. Now im out the price of the part, the cost to ship it back, and way too much time.

It's almost like they are trying to be terrible :)

How high up at Autopartsway have you gone?
It's disgusting how customer service is really giving you the gears.
Go to a manager or owner level.
And post this review on other sites.

Here is their BBB link:

From there using Jigsaw/Data.com I found the president's information:

Thanks a lot for that info Bruno. i will be CC'ing Mark and leaving comments on BBB.org.

So Customer service responded via email yesterday -- they wanted my tracking number. I've already supplied it in the same email chain 2 other times. [poop]TERRIBLE[poop]. i don't think i'll ever see my money again.

Where did you shipped this package to ? I am assuming Worldpac in Mississauga , if so why don't you just go there with your papers and resolve this on spot, you have proof of shipment again I am assuming to Mississauga distribution and I am sure they will be able to resolve for you there, it will be faster, one of the guys that works there at the back knows audi/vw parts he deals with customer service related to orders and shipments , it seems that autopartsway have some issues

unfortunately i will not be out that way for the next 2 weeks. Im coming from pickering so i don't really want to drive to Mississauga for just this (the time and gas is worth more than the part). Plus, i was told by the autopartsway rep in this thread (apw_rep) through PM not to drop it off in person as it may cause it to not be processed correctly... so i took the time and expense to ship.

this is BS.. i think it is the other way around it is faster.. this is from my personal experience and the rep from bestcarpart told me that would be best to go in person and explain then shipping it ..

It's unfortunate to hear of these return issues. As I noted originally in my previous post, I've returned items directly, in person, at the Worldpac warehouse and haven't had any issues at all. I'd certainly be annoyed and disappointed if I were encountering the same difficulties that you are. Keep the Autopartsway rep on this forum involved and escalate the issue to a supervisor if need be. Usually it's all about talking to the right people.
