I found one locally and will be picking it up this weekend. It needs a lot fo work but the body is in great shape but could use a respray since the clear is in bad shape. It will be my new project car and Im doing a lot of research on it, but I havent seen any in this color. So can someone please educate me on what paint options were available for these cars? This car has the audi rings on the side and im pretty sure its original paint but its a yellow color. Thanks for any information I apologize for not having a picture yet.

the one you are looking at for 6k that doesnt run in washington is resprayed. NOT ORIGINAL. Also look very very closely around where the front fenders are connected to the body, even in the small pictures it looked like there was rust creeping through! They get very rusty.

Ill be getting the car this weekend, but Im told its an 83. Do you alos know where I can find the paint code on the vehicle. I know where to look in my b5, but Im wanting the current owner to check it out for me before I pick the car up.

Im thinking it is resprayed but I wanted to make sure not that it matters since the car will need paint eventually anyways (among many other things). I checked the car out pretty thoroughly and the only spot that rust was identifable was on the inside of the doors on the bottom corner where the vertical/horizontal lines merge together...sorry for the crappy explanation. Im planning to restore it, however long it takes so it should be a fun journey. Are you located in WA ruffiano?

Im from central Oregon, currently in Utah however.

Rust is a big problem, around 1987-88 they started fully galvanizing the metal and the problem became almost non existant, however on the URs it looks fine then you pop off the fender and:

Ill admit that I felt the inner fenders, but I didnt feel that high up. i know that rust is the biggest problem so that's what I was mainly checking out when I was viewing the vehicle. Where the fender attaches to the body though I saw no signs of rust.
