Milky Window trim clean up . After looking up on line and reading that this cannot be fixed. I took a cordless drill, buffing tool and Maguires ultimate compound...

Get B8/A4 OEM S-Line side blades/stone guards from ECS ~$277. It won't cover the damage but you won't be able to notice it anymore. Plus they look great on the C6.

I've read a lot of the non S-Line B8's install these with just extra double sided so they don't have to drill into the rocker panel to use the factory clips and they hold up just fine.

I just recently installed aftermarket ones on my avant with just 30lbs double sided from Home Depot and they're solid. I just wish I went OEM now because of the fitment.

That looks to be a dent due to improper placement of a jack or lift. It is not from hitting somthing. Sorry that some careless Asshat did that to your car.

I bought my side skirts from ESC tuning and will be installing them using 3M adhesive. I don't want to have to drill and weld in the posts.

I used this one from Home Depot and it's really strong. Using the OEM post/clips aren't even necessary.

Like I mentioned before, you're probably better off getting some side blades/rock guards than trying to repair/replace that. It will help cover it up and you'll get an enhancement mod as well.

I'd say go for it. It makes it look more sporty imo. I used plasti dip. The bottom portion of the trim is fairly easy, however the top portion of our doors are troublesome since the trim continues inside of the doors (never really noticed it until this). If you do decide to do it just open the doors immediately after each coat and it'll provide that clean tear line. If there are other questions feel free to message me.

Well, now the grill is blacked out as well. Blacking out the trim has really gave this car an updated look imo. People have actually said it looks smaller now. Now to redo the headlights... This time around I'll order the lamin-x headlight covers to keep them clear.

I'm looking into vinyl wrapping as an option too. Either way, I need to get with the times. LOL Where'd you get your grill and did you install it yourself?

I bought the grill off eBay. I wanted the ecu tuning one. It was a little nicer but they were out of stock and my car was in the body shop so I couldn't wait. I honestly bought the cheapest one off eBay. It was under $100 shipped. Fits well and looks great!

Well, now the grill is blacked out as well. Blacking out the trim has really gave this car an updated look imo. People have actually said it looks smaller now. Now to redo the headlights... This time around I'll order the lamin-x headlight covers to keep them clear.

And now that it is mentioned has anyone tried these from eBay? These don't have AFS but I'm willing to lose that and my car is already throwing the error for that feature in the right headlight.

I have those same headlights and I got them from the same vendor, great seller and really supportive customer service!

my post (#18) about these headlights on another thread below

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/670990-Audi-S6-with-updated-2009-headlights-)

I have these same headlights and I'm not sure if these can be coded to work like OEM since it's not OEM. To get these to work I had to:

1) Turn on my DRL setting in the MMI car lighting options to have them on as DRL's
2) Tap the headlight DRL LED's to the bumper reflector parking lights to stay on with the low beams on

note:

1) These Depo headlights aren't AFS compatible, so since my OEM headlights were AFS equipped and they're weren't able to swap it over it throws a AFS error code that's always on.
2) Since I had to tap the LED's to the parking lights this throws both left and right parking light codes only when the low beams turn on. I've thought about trying to code the parking lights off but couldn't figure it out last time I borrowed my friend's VAGCOM and I'm not sure how that will affect the LED's.

I'm not sure if this is the correct way it's supposed to be done since there wasn't proper instructions but this is how I got the LED's to fully function. Overall, even with the 1-3 codes that it throws I'm still happy with them. They look OEM and the LED's are BRIGHT! No problem with daytime visibility and they're honestly brighter than my low beams at night and overpower them lol.

Thank you so much for that information! When I came across these I almost immediately bought them off impulse. Since he liked them I just may go ahead. The error signs will not be new to me since I have one already for the AFS.

No problem, I love them! I would definitely recommend them to all the pre-facelift cars. The aesthetic benefits outweighs losing the AFS feature and the annoying error codes IMHO. Really good alternative than doing an OEM conversation with less work and 1/3 the price if not more.

These are growing on me, as to further complicate are the peelers!!

One thing I have noticed though is that my current setup has an offset of 45mm but everything I am looking at is 35mm.

I did do a search on this and it seems that 35mm should not be an issue, but if you have any input, it will be gladly received.

Mine are a 32 offset. I was rubbing some in the back but I dialed in some negative camber and it resolved the issue. 35 offset should not need any adjustment.

It is located in the trunk on the right side. I did this because I decided to never sell this car. This will be my project car and I will buy C7 for daily car. My electrican did the wiring and I don't have the sheme. Although I bought the whole instalation wires from wrecked A6 facelift

Besides being a PIA to remove stuff?? Pretty good lol. Just need patience. For the most part it was straight forward just had to swap the ballast, the D2S bulb, and the motor beside the bi-xenon housing (easy move just two T20s and pop out the holder) from old to new.

I was thinking about that as an option as well, I really like my 07 just wish it had more power, if I could drop a 4T into it I'd be a happy camper but that probably is somewhere between winning the lotto and going to Mars. Anyway between your rear end conversion and grain370 upgrading the headlights I think I might work on doing those 2 swaps as well once I get through next spring's vacation expenses. I have a couple little things I'm working on upgrading for grins which hopefully I'll have done in the next few weeks and I'll post those when I'm satisfied with it.

You didn't need to re-wire anything to get those LEDs to work? I was hoping I could just buy used facelifted headlights and swap them but I always thought it required wiring to get them working.

Initially, no. They will act as your DRLs that the car comes factory with. However, to get them to always stay on as in when the low beams come on you would need to tap into the parking lights in the bumper since those are alway on as well. That's what DeeBee87 did on his and it has worked for him thus far. Keep in mind you will get an error code from that but that's minor for what you're getting in return. I haven't done the tapping yet because wasn't sure of which wire to tap into from the LEDs and parking light exactly. Also these are non AFS headlights as well, so you'll loose the cornering functions and all that as well. I don't mind tbh. The reason they may not stay with low beams is because of the AFS/non AFS issue, I think.

Interesting, I don't know if I'd miss the AFS working or not though I really get annoyed by the warning lights on the dash, I had that when I replaced the fog lights with LEDs till I had resistors wired in. But this may be a thought, I might look into it.

As of right now I only have the "adaptive light defective" symbol on the lcd screen and honestly besides the warning sound when the car is turned on it's not annoying to me. Now, I already had the warning for the passenger side anyway for some time now so I'm use to it. Lol but it's definitely worth checking out.

Gah the only thing keeping me from swapping to the facelift LED headlights is how much I like my AFS feature. I live in Tennessee, Lots of curvy roads and hills.

Do the facelifts even come in an AFS option? I don't want to spend a billion on them anyway.

I figure in the very least I will take mine apart and swap out the projectors. Possibly do a quad retrofit with where the factory drl is on the inside of the lights.
Swap the ballasts to 55w when I swap the Projectors out for better ones with clear lenses...

I retrofitted my wifes 08 pathfidner with some mh1 7.0 projectors and they blow away the audi's obviously.

I have my TMtuning Slimline LED's hooked back up next to the fogs but one side has 2 of the 5 led's out. Want to try and take them apart and salvage them...

I'm in the same boat, this car is my daily but I plan on upgrading to a c7 next year and this will stay as a project/toy. I just hope to get another 40k miles out of this motor.

If I am honest, I haven't even looked at the weight.

Was this a concern in terms of performance loss, or is it more of an issue that it is putting additional strain on drive train etc?

You couldn't feel them on the actual car . Only difference I could feel was how different the ride was but that happens when ever you run a tire that thin , when now with my c6 on 20's the car doesn't feel any heavier just a bit stiffer

It should be what DIDN'T I do to my A6....
Started out yesterday with the car going in to have the entire front suspension redone (new control arms, c-links, inner and outer CV boots and wheel bearings.
While the car was on the lift I added the rear valance and splitter...

Before:
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160830/f20c1ed0a760c09a5e1bb430823c4f77.jpg

After:
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160830/f9295945c7dc10d3f2155d12826ef2ce.jpg

I also added the S4 rocker panel skirts..

Before:
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160830/22f95756c9e73754315b74c44e7abaa7.jpg
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160830/98a444d3e0551e2819711ef748808681.jpg

After:
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160830/d823ab3a9c4be22d97372fee7ca9c33c.jpg
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160830/10acf37bdc34a88a91ca020929328a41.jpg

Now, while tearing apart the front, it was discovered the supercharger radiator was leaking so I had to replace that and replaced the main radiator while at it. This kept the car overnight at the shop.

Today, radiators were installed and the car was buttoned up. Off to the alignment rack...

http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160830/696ab5bac150fb8bab5e4e2582bcb0b8.jpg

While the car was in the rack, noticed that the 2 front tires were starting to separate at the belts. So now I am sitting at Discount tire getting 2 new tires put on[emoji17]

I also added LED reverse lights. Now I have the test flash every 26 seconds....

Excuse the dirty wheels, but installed the Stoptech kit with drilled rotors and pads.

Still in the processing of bedding in the pads, so I can't comment on performance. But I can say they look nice!

So again I've done nothing to my C6 because having decided to opt for the style of wheels that Sin has on his A6, I found I'd waited too long and they were no longer in stock on Amazon, they were up for $730.

The company will be able to tell me on Tuesday if procurement will be ordering more, so looking for s back up plan and I *think* these are the numero 2 option.

Sent from my iPhone using Audizine mobile app My taste in wheels changes hourly....I started with wanting Rotors, then RS4 Replicas, then VMR 710's, then 701's, then a set of peelers popped up locally that were a steal (well not totally a steal but you know...I was desperate)....but I still want a set of RS6 OEM Winterfelgen (winter wheels) unavailable in the US.

The C6 doesn't have OEM side skits. The C6 S6 & RS6 has door blades but I think what you are referring to are B8 A4 side skirts. You can order from ECS, EBay, or sites like audiusaparts.com.

I discovered a similar jack ding on my car so the I'm doing the A4 skirts as well. Plus they look the business.

Skirts - how do they install ?

I've got the same ones, they look like they belong on our cars. I can't speak to the install of the door blades but the skirts came with an adhestive tape already on them, it's been about a month or two and they're holding strong. The cars been through w few strong rain storms and car washes and no issues yet

The C6 already has lower door blades. These are the S6 door blades. They take the place of the existing door blades and are held in place by 3 clips and a screw.
The skirts are held in place with 3M automotive adhesive tape. On the B8 S/SLine, they are held on with rivets and adhesive tape. I didn't want to go to the trouble of welding the rivets onto the car so I just used the tape. Seems to be holding nicely.

Oh and thanks for the compliment!
