"APR has released their new APR Badge for all customers modified with APR's different stages of performance enhancements. Proudly display your APR car's performance stage with the customizable APR badge for APR Stage I through Stage III+."

APR Badge (http://www.goapr.com/products/tuned_badge.html)

I must say I really like the look/style of this badge & the ability to chose between I through III+ is what is quite neat.
For the price, it seems like a very nice addition to the rear end.

What is your opinion?

stickers add 50hp lol. I'm an OEM+ person..thus I'm not a huge fan on non OEM stickers/badgers. Especially that new fad where people are sticking ugly diagonal stickers on their rear windows.

Well with the letters being seperate you can customize.. For the Homeboys RAPIII+ or for the golfers PARIII+

I've seen pics of someone with a B8 S4 adding this badge and the APR letters did not look good, imo - too bold. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6005/5987216425_883d9a7373.jpg

However I like the StageX bits - they remind me of the old Audi S badges http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQwHsVZaUZ5rO5R4GuP4G-gWMEm6e2N4EUoxLnoZvmsqAZEzP-FVA.

I still have all my stock badging but would consider replacing the 2.0T with the Stage2 pieces (not using the APR letters).

Depends on your area i guess, adding indicators of what is in my car here is like asking someone to steal it.

Clever but quite lame.

That's an option. Not sure how it would look though...

Not a fan of these emblems.
I thought the whole point was to clean-up the rear.
I've got some GIAC stickers, but couldn't get them to look right either.

I guess there are several schools of thought when it comes to badges. You can leave everything just as it is (OEM). You can debadge and be a total sleeper. Or you can let people know what you got on the car (APR badge). My feeling is if you got that much invested in the car, why not let it be known. Admittedly not for everybody, especially if you feel it might make your car a target. I put the new APR badge on my car last month. So far pleased with it.

Too much testosterone, IMO. Might as well put those bumper nuts while you're at it...

The most I'd do is put the badge on my engine cover, but only since I'm now out of warranty.

Seen it in person, the APR part is far too big... The Stage III+ bits are fine though.

The badges are really nice - they had them at Waterfest though. Why is this just getting pub now?

Way too big. It should be 1/4 the size i'm seeing.
I hate badges... which is why i removed everything except the rings.

I agree with Miles on this one the lettering was too big so just rocking the stageIII part and saving the + for later .
That part of the badge looks pretty oem to me

Audizine stickers on quarter panel windows (gunmetal on BB) and "Fill Me, You Cheap Bastard" Dymo label on inside of gas flap.
That's it.

Whenever I see any debadged car my first thought is that it's had some level of mods; not at all 'sleeper'. If it's an older car then I wonder if it was just poorly cared for...

Not much use for stock mode if you're going to advertise like that. I'd prefer everything stay under the radar personally.

I don't think its a bad concept with the stages and all but I just think its too "loud" ...the font could be smaller.

It reminds me of this...

Hey guys,

Im thinking of debadging, but i have the apr badge sitting on the workbench and i keep pacing back and forth trying to decide between naked or with the apr badge. if i put it on the car I've been trying to think about other places to put the badge.

Thoughts?

just the stage badges on one of the front fenders wouldn't look bad, but in general, stickers and add-on badges are tacky.

Hmm...I've thought about getting one, and putting the stage portion, for the badge holder on my S4 Grill. Right now, I've got a blank hole. I've taken the "4" off, and considering putting it back in the way it is. (Just an "S", since I've got an S-Line). Thoughts? Would it even fit? (the "Stage" section...)

I agree in general the badges are tacky but I'm really digging the stage portion of the badge and its small enough it doesn't attract too much attention and the right people will know what it means and those who don't don't need to know. I like your idea of placing it where the supercharger badges are on the 3.0T's its a nice place, or up front on the grille.

I saw one of these APR badges in person on a VW (it was a Stage3) and it looked decent.....with that being said I'm not really a fan of how it looks on the A4 or S4 above.

Part of the reason of getting APR was so to keep it secret from the dealer. The tuner even swapped my dealer plate to theirs so I had to buy a Audi plate. The left side will be just "S" once the emblem arrives and a "quattro" licence plate frame. Thats the only clue people are getting.

Maybe for a basic Stage1 car but beyond that it wouldn't take a mechanic at the dealer very long to see what's really going on .....heck, even a sales guy from across the parking lot can tell my car is far from stock :) I wouldn't even consider locking my tune anymore. LOL.

Im probably the luckiest one here as my stealership has a tuner for a service rep, and he staffed some of the service mechanics with fellow tuners. When i need warranty fixes i just call him up he tells me which day to come in and voilą no more worries of voided warranty.

And I think what I'm going to do is just dump the APR part of the badge and put the stages up front if it looks good. we shall see. As i have an s-line i want to keep the car as stock looking on the outside as possible

To each his/her own I suppose. I like my car without any badges. Honestly, if I had an S4 I'd take of those badges too. I do my mods and choose my cars to make me happy, not as a status symbol to people around me. I feel the same about the BMW M badges and the silly engine vent bits.

So I'd say do what makes you happy, but personally those badges are too large and loud for me.

After having the APR badge on for a few weeks, I just couldn't handle it any more and had to take it off. I think I agree with most here now that it looks tacky on an A4 after all. I guess you live and learn.

The ONLY reason I installed them on my Avant was b/c I scratched the crap out of the side where I took off the 2.0T emblem. The A4 is also off the left side. It does not look too bad since the A4 is off but I agree the badges are too large.

But they still look nice...maybe if they were smaller, it would look good on the rear door guard where the S-Line badge normally goes???

I think it would be neat if about half the size...or if it was about 1/4 the size could look neat along the sides up front where the sline or supercharged badges would go.

Well Just did the full de-badging and I've decided the APR portion of the badge is going in the drawer and the stage portion is going just under the side indicators on the driver side. It looks nice and its not too flashy. More pictures to come soon of the stage badges.http://flic.kr/p/aX1UQB

first I must say that the apr badge is top quality and has found a home on my otherwise badged car (I've decided not to de-badge. swimmin' up stream here, I know). I really like the old-school Audi Sport badges and liked that apr's Stage-# badge mirrored that yet added a modern twist. I'm pretty happy with the results so I wanted to share.

http://www.audizine.com/gallery/data/500/medium/badge-full-rear.jpg

I thought the A-P-R and the + pieces were too bold, weird and otherwise out of place so they didn't make it on the car.
http://www.audizine.com/gallery/data/500/medium/badge_close.jpg

I also considered putting the Stage2 pieces next to A4 and debadging the right. maybe next time.
