I have a friend with a BMW 540i (e39) that change his muffler. Is a Borla, and looks good, good shape:

LOL.
I hate the tips too, but something you can change during the replacement [:D]

He can make up for tips as long as he can fit the muffler back far enough that they sit flush with the bumper. For $60 why not?

I Will. My only concern was if the internal "design" for this one is different from the one "designed" for the 1.8t! Or all Borlas are almost the same?

Borla is mostly for the 1.8t I think they only make one system/muffler for the 2.8

Thanks.
I asked because the muffler comes from a V8 BMW.

Mufflers arent really car/engine specific.

I hope you're also going to fab up a custom exhaust while you're installing the muffler. Wouldn't want to do the job twice.

[>_<] This made me LoL. If $60 is going to break the bank, then he shouldn't be driving an Audi.

There are anyone with a custom exhaust without the resonator on an Auto TiP.
I'm thinking going custom 2.5 maintaining the OEM resonator and the borla.

Well I bought my audi and still had cash left over, got in an accident and cost about 1800 to fix so I'm pretty broke atm.

That's the plan. Planning 2.5". My only question is with or without OEM resonator.

There are any issues using a 2.5 piping if the inlet of the muffler is 2.25? The outlet is dual 3".
