Q5 vs GLK

Hey guys what's up. I'm actually a TT owner but my friend who's getting her first car is contemplating getting either a GLK or Q5. (now I know this is going to be hard cuz we are al DIE HARD Audi fans, but PLEASE no biases! =) ). If you guys can do me a huge favor, can you tell me why I should pick the Q over the GLK? I know everything about the GLK but not too much about the Q. Pleaseeee give details. THANKS

I cant tell you why you should pick the q over the glk because you shouldnt, the benz is the best lookingg suv on the market at the moment. I like the audi but love the benz.

Read some of the reviews online. I recommend Edmunds, car & driver, road & track. And seriously that thing is ugly! Best looking SUV?!? You must find Sara Jessica Parker attractive.

Ive driven the Q5 and really liked it. Its built on the frame from the A4. Gives you the utility of a small SUV and the sportiness of a sedan. When you push it hard, you hardly feel youre driving an SUV. Aside from that, I prefer the styling of the interior of the Audi over that of the MB. Good luck in your choice.

Thanks everybody. And sorry for my lack of knowledge here, but around what would be the leasing prices of the Q if say I put down 2k and 36k miles for 3 years? I live in socal. And the person who said he likes the GLK more, can you please tell me why?

This is an Audi forum, so you will find that almost everyone is going to be biased towards the q5.

My fiancée and I have been looking at both as well. I say Q5 for sure, we both like the GLK, but I am not crazy about the interior styling (especially the MB-Tex on a car of that price). I also found the back seat space to be kind of tight in the GLK, definitely not enough for me to drive with a rear-facing car seat back there. We're going with a 2011 Q5 2.0T Premium Plus, which will also offer better gas mileage than the GLK350.

I test drove the GLK before the Q5. The handling is about the same. The major differences is in the interior. The GLK felt and looked too "plastic". I notice it right away when I touch the steering wheel.

the Benz is a sharp looker ... but damn there is no room in that damn thing ... not to mention the styling of the interior is that of a Starcruiser ( think star wars) ... feels cold and numb on the interior styling ... the Audi has better MPG, interior, MMI is outstanding especially when mated to the B&O sound system ..... Unlock the Video in Motion is a must! It comfortable on long drives and is surprisingly quiet considering the huge glass roof !

We shopped around before we got our Q5 and the GLK was a contender until we drove the Audi ... My suggestion is take one out for a drive and let the vehicle sell itself.

I work for MB and I would say pick the Q5, it is a better looking car and way better interior. Never test driven one so I am not sure about Q5 ride quality but GLKs do ride very nice with a smooth 7speed 3.5L V6.

q5 drives similar to a car....glk is good too but i like the q5...in sline package of course.

I test drove the GLK. It's good value, but imo, it is ugly compared to Q5. I didn't test drive the Q5 though, so I can't comment on the drive part.

IMO, The Q5 has a much nicer interior and a cleaner exterior design. The Mercedes seems a bit too Spartan and cold for me on the inside and I don't care for the boxier exterior. The Benz and the Cadillac SUV's all look like an F-117 stealth fighter with all of the weird angles.
