hey guys.. im wondering if these rotors are the EXACT same... the ones with warping issues and what not...currently have a b5s4 and was wondering if any of you b7 folks know if audi has changed the design on these rotors or if they are the exact same. TIA

Yes. They also fit certain A6 models

heres another question:....what would it take for the b7 s-line brakes to have b6 s4 rotors? just custom carriers?

If you notice, they share the exact same part number (B5 S4 rotors (http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B5_S4--2.7T/Braking/OEM/ES486/?salesrep=CArmbruster&utm_source=audizine&utm_medium=forum&utm_content=CArmbruster&utm_campaign=postreply) and B7 A4 rotors (http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B7_A4-Quattro-2.0T/Braking/OEM/?salesrep=CArmbruster&utm_source=audizine&utm_medium=forum&utm_content=CArmbruster&utm_campaign=postreply)) today. However, this is simply the most recent revision of the rotors. Do you know the OEM part number of the B5 S4 rotors you are concerned about? They likely could be an older revision.

havent checked.. i was just concerned as there is a general consensus among b5'ers that the rotors on the b5 s4 are really prone warping as they suck at dissipating heat.

Ah I see. Heat dissipation is entirely dependent on the manufacturer of the rotor. The part number is just a reference made to identify a fitment. Perhaps OEM VW/Audi rotors had a bad track record in the past, that I'm not sure of. It is safe to make the blanket statement that each manufacturer of aftermarket rotors may construct theirs differently, to address heat an warping differently, which equates to different performing rotors. So the quick answer to your question is - possibly, but not ALL rotors will fall into that category.
