Hi, I'm reading this stuff for almost a year now and I have to say you guys are insanely great!
Getting my B8 Avant (non s-line) this summer and I have a couple of questions already.
For alloys I'm thinking 8.5x19 et32 all around (245/35/19),
lowered with Eibach Sportline (front 45mm, rear 35mm).
Is there a chance to rub (front)?
What spacers do I need to be flush (rear and front)?
A bit worried about Eibach Sportline because of the stock shocks, should I consider Pro-Kit (front 35mm, rear 30mm)?
Sorry for my English..
Thanks

^^^ 8.5 et32 should be a great fit. and you should not rub. the front will be pretty flush and i'd leave that alone, you dont want to get all flush in the front and then end up scraping the fender on hard turns, especially since your front will be lower already. for the back i think with some 5-10mm spacers it should be good, depends how aggressive you want it, but with 245 tires i would recommend 5mm in the rear because 10mm might have you rubbing the fender liner on bumps.
and yes i would go with the Prokit, whichever has less of a drop because 45/35mm is pretty aggressive and your stock shocks wont last too long and will feel bumpy and hard like within a year prob. the 35/30mm is a mild drop and should be ok with the stock shocks, but either way still sports shocks (either OEM s-line/S4 shocks or aftermarket) will work best with lowering springs.
for comparison, i'm lowered around 1.3" all around (~33mm), i have 19x8.5 et43 (offset 11mm more than yours) with 255/35 tires. my rears are fine now but i used to have 15mm spacers and it looked nice and flush but the tire would just slightly rub the fender liner over bumps and when i had people in the back and it was annoying so i took them out for now, but with 245 tires i would have been ok. so in your case you're already 11mm more out than i was, and with 5mm added and already on 245 tires you should be ok. i would leave the fronts also because i have no spacers on the front, and my winter tires are a bit on the wider/thicker side, maybe 3-5mm more than my previous tires, and my tires rubbed the fender on a sharp turn and part of the fender's inner edge part got 'pulled' down a bit in one spot, and i had to sort of roll that part back in, so you wanna leave the fronts alone here.

If you have rubbed in front with et43 (255), I'm worried I will also rub with et32 (245) with 35mm drop?
I will definitely go with a Pro-Kit than, if I decide not to buy new sport shocks. Thanks.

Since Liquid Smoke reply, I'm now seriously thinking of buying the B12 kit with sport shocks + eibach springs (probably Pro kit), but i still dont know about the whole et32 thing..

I think I quit around page 38, just got too tired of scrolling. Any pics of OEM RS4 wheels between there and the end? Was mentioned somewhere in the 20's that they'll fit, but would like to see them.
Ran them on my B7 and held on to them when I traded it in, trying to get into a B8. Which, I posted in the stickied thread in the Chatterbox. Not a lot of traffic in there though.

^^ damn that's sexy. question for you guys with the aggressive wheel fitments, do you remove your fender liner? i had 8.5 et28 with 255 tires and would slightly rub the fender liner on dips and bigger bumps, seems like the liner takes up a lot of clearance space on the edge area. but then if removed, isn't it kinda risky having all that exposed.

i still have my fender liners, both front and back. no rubbing. and i can also full turn the front and not rubbing.

i still have my liners im on 235/35 19 9.5 +25 and rarely rub unless im under hard quick cornering...my biggest problem is the side skirts rubbing going up steep driveways and big speed bumps..hurts every time hearing that thump and scrape :'(

I am on coils, i still have a good bit in the front but the rear is maxed out low. I could take the perches off but i dont want my wheel to slam into my fender. wheels are 19x10 all around and tires are 225/35/19, i did have 235/35/19 but i wanted a more aggressive look. I think this will be the setup ill go with for a long time. the offset is pretty low.

do you have any camber? mines dont do this very often unless its a really steep incline.

damn never seen the weights rusting, only those outside ones, but mine just get dirty but dont rust or anything. what i would do is polish and use some rust remover or something and then just let them clean and dry properly and put some plastidip or something on it to keep it sealed up. could do it black or aluminum w/e matches the inside of the wheel.

Does anyone know if I would run into any problems with VMR VB3s in a 19x8.5 setup and ET 40? Would 255/35s work? Can't seem to find these in ET 35 which I know is more ideal. I've been told that these wheels may have brake clearance issues with stick brakes as well. Thanks!

^^ i dont see why that wouldn't work, 19x8.5 et43 with 255/35 is what i run, and thats pretty standard, that's OEM S4 specs there, nothing that aggressive or anything. if you cant get et35 just get the et40 and get 5mm spacers and it will be fine.
no reason it would have brake clearance issues, once you go smaller than 16" then you will have clearance issues, but thats with the stock brakes/calipers. if you have a BBK then 19x8.5 is still more than enough.

Looks perfect. Do those happen to be Hartmann wheels? They make some fine, euro-made reps.

^^ nice, i'm liking the tinted tails. you need to get some gloss black exhaust tips, cover up them ugly stock ones lol. and car definitely is gonna look good once lowered. get some H&R OE Springs for a 1.2" drop, and some 10mm front and 15mm rear spacers and its gonna look sick.
Thanks, I'm really happy with the look so far and I'm planning on getting an Eibach kit next month (the soonest appointment EPL has). I may Plasti-dip the tips for the short term, I think it'll be fine at that temperature, but eventually I'll get an actual exhaust with gloss black tips.
Your car is looking awesome, Plasti-dip is sick and that matte metallic gray looks nasty. I did the tail lights with dip also, and matching yours with the gray you used on the car could be pretty insane...

If you are lowered i would just leave the 245's on for a rub free fit, et32 is on the border for 255's, if your not lowered take the $1k you saved on buying new tires and get yourself some coils!

I ran these last summer before I put on my springs, just got rid of them for new AG's but the offset was pretty much spot on. I put 5mm spacers in the rear though to have them in line with the front wheels.

quick question, i have a 2009 b8 avant 2.0t quattro. i picked up some STR BBS LM reps that came off a B8 S4, 19x9.5 et40 hub bore 66.56. my current wheels are the 17x8 et47... so according to 101tires.com wheel offset calculator, i will be 12mm less inside clearance (worries me)... and 26mm extended outside (stoked about this)... so question is do i need spacers to clear strut/caliper?... i would hate to get it all ready to mount on car and find out i'm hitting something and have to order spacers... would be great going into it with everything i need ready to go! thanks guys in advance for feedback!

Hey guys,
I have a 2009 A4 Quattro with everything stock and I'm looking to get these VMR 710 in 19's http://1010tires.com/Wheels/VMR/V710/V13106
What kind of tire size should I go with? I don't want to lower my car at all but at the same time I don't really want a huge wheel gap.

255/35/19 is what comes on stock 19 inch rims (which I believe are 19x8.5) and will keep your rolling diameter close to what you have now. Your wheel gap is going to look about the same as it does with whatever wheels you have now.

Yeah the 255/35/19 will be within 0.65% of your current rolling diameter. You can play around with different tire sizes on this site: http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator/. Their suggestion is to go no more than 3% off of your current rolling diameter

A lot of people run this setup with no rub. It all depends on how low you are as well. Don't think you'll rub with the eibach pro kit.

Thanks, I'm still debating if I want 18's or 19's where I live the roads are complete crap with potholes everywhere haha. Want it to look good but still comfortable driving around.
I went with 18x8.5 et35 with 245/40/18 for the same reason. Definitely doesn't look as nice as 19s, but I'm happy enough with it. I may go to 19s at some point in the future and run a summer (19)/winter (18) set up.

Hello everyone,
I just posted in the checking in section but I figured I would throw a couple in to this thread as well.
I'm running Avant Garde M550s 19x8.5" front and rear. I ran 20" wheels on my past 2010 B8 A4 but up here in CO the roads are terrible quality so I choose to stay with 19".

I want these wheels, but it seems like most places say they won't fit my car. I have a 2014 Audi A4. It seems like you were able to fit them. Did you need to do anything else?

Replicas in general are cheaper versions of an oem wheel and (in most cases) no where as strong. Those ebay wheels I would be a bit nervous about. If you have perfect roads where you live then they might be okay, but I would be worried about one big pothole with those.

I had a set of replicas in that style (19") and used them as winter wheels for 2 years. For the price they're fine, and if you don't use them in winter or on pot holes they might even be as good as OEM (I'm not sure about the weight though, they're probably heaver). In my case, after 2 years the machine finish was showing a lot of marks, like it was flaking off, and I ended up driving over a giant pot hole and bent two of the rims beyond repair. In all fairness, with that pot hole there's very little chance an OEM rim would have survived either. I ended up buying a set of used OEMs in the same style. The matte finish is really nice and I'm pretty sure the machined part will last longer too.
If your budget only allows for replicas, go for the replicas.

What brand of replicas did you go with? I emailed the seller and he told me the ones I posted are IPW brand. I figure that for $500, I'll get my money's worth with just a year of usage. After having Vossens on my old car and dealing with the headache that is having to sell them I just want something cheap that I won't lose sleep over. If they're listed as 18x8.5 would that fit fine on my stock 245/40s?

I am in h&r coilovers. I actually have no rubbing up front and have slight rubbing in the rear over very large dips with weight in the back. Probably cause the coilovers allow less travel

There has been no rubbing (FTG F&R = 25 1/4) and that was with my old wheels (Hartmann 19in wheels) packaged in boxes in the trunk, driving over several dips on the way home. I may go lower in the future.

There has been no rubbing (FTG F&R = 25 1/4) and that was with my old wheels (Hartmann 19in wheels) packaged in boxes in the trunk, driving over several dips on the way home. I may go lower in the future.
Wheel Manufacturer: Avant Garde M590
Wheel Diameter x Width: 19x9.5
Wheel Offset: 40
Finish: Matte Silver
Tire Size: Michelin Pilot SS 255/35/19
Suspension: ST coilovers (FTG F & R = 25 1/4)

No that really helped, although so would another set of hands as well. Still have to tweak each corner too.

Hey all! Just picked up some VMRs from Alan at Modbargains as well. He seems to be making the rounds on the forums, big [up] to him for helping me out. He did a great job of getting them to me quick and answered any of my questions I had. I also want to give a shout out to you guys for helping me with offset and fitment decisions! Anywho, Typical V710s....I really wanted something different, but I loved the concave look and I don't have many A/S4s around me, so I don't feel as bad getting something like this.
Audi A4 Presting S-Line with the Sport suspension
Factory ride height, but getting coils come next year. I've only had the car since November so it has come a long ways over the winter here in MN. But I'm loving it
VMR V710 Gunmetal Finish
19x9.5 ET 45
Fitment is perfect, I feel it is a bit too close to the front suspension, but no one has mentioned any rubbing issues, none with me so far
I went with Michelin Super Sports 255/35/19, great ride quality and awesome turn in. A huge step up from my old DWS that had a slight delay.
These guys weigh 26.5 and with the Super Sports I'm at 50~ pounds
No issues at all with the powder coating and the color is awesome, lots of other A4s with the gunmetal black combo but awesome in person! Great quality and awesome turn around thanks to Alan! I had them shipped out in a week from placing the order. [hail]

I bough my Avant about 2 months ago. I scoured this thread a number of times trying to get an idea of what wheels I wanted to buy. Just wanted to say THANKS to everyone who posted. The thread was invaluable to my research.
I'd like to give back. I swapped out my matte black S-line wheels (which I'll post for sale shortly) and installed those A7 wheels.

I finally bit the bullet and laid down some coin for what is currently my OEM+ dream wheel. They are new 20x9 ET35 RS7 OEM forged wheels. So excited!
Tires are 275/35R20 Pilot SS. This size is slightly taller than OEM, but since this is an avant, I wanted some add'l side wall. Of note, allroad spec A4 avants have larger OEM rolling stock than regular A4, S4, RS5, and all other B8 and B8.5 cars. This set up isn't possible on anything other than maybe an RS5.
I love the OEM+ look and concavity of the spokes. They are super thin spokes and the barrel is so thin, it's a thing of beauty! Weight is in the low 20lbs range. Likely 22lbs.
No spacers were needed and there is no rubbing. Poke allows some tuck under load.
PSS's are just about the perfect tire, and a great compliment to my 255/40R19 Nokian WR-G3's for the winter.
Sitting on new avant spec Vogtland coilovers on highest setting in back. More info soon...
Thanks to Sunset Audi, Achtun!ng and Griffin Motorwerke for the help!

Thank you. That's what I really love about them...an evolved version of a classic. It was hard for me not to go w/ the proven, highly-convex RS5 20" wheels, but I got wind of this style and took a chance.

Yes they would look good, no you don't have to do anything. But if you are going to buy them save your money and get a larger diameter, unless of course it's a smoking deal.

Hey guys! My car is the black one, my friends is the white one! He's selling his rims! Do you think they would look good with my black a4? Both are 18's! Would I have to do anything or do they fit just fine?
Thanks
Yes they'd look good, they're similar if not identical to the ones offered with the black optics package. Agreed with the above post about going with a larger diameter unless it's a fairly cheap price, I got a great deal on my 18s but if I hadn't I would have gone with 19s.

He's selling them new for $500 without tires! What do you guys think

Well that's a pretty good deal.
You could look at it like this - either the cost is only a 1/3 of a set off larger wheels or you are only 2/3 away from larger wheels. They do look better then what you currently have but... Are they ultimately what you want? I have learned that you should get what you want so you will be happy. If they are exactly what your are looking for then snatch them up. If not then wait.

$500 is a good price for a set of 18s. Tires aren't cheap, but they'll fit look way better than the stock wheels and you can always resell them if you upgrade later.

What wheels are those? I saw a B8.5 in my apartment complex with those wheels (silver, just in case the owner is an AZ member) just tonight but I haven't seen them around before.

Hi guys, wondering if this setup would work on my B8 A4:
20x9 ET42 265/30/20
My thinking is that 265 rubber would make up for the 42 offset and give it a more aggressive look. Car is lowered on KW V1 coilovers.
Is my thinking correct?
Thanks.

Hi there i am a new member from Sweden.
I thought I would show you guys a couple of pictures of my car.
It's still on winter tiers and rims in waiting of my new ones that will land in Sweden this weekend so with a little bit of luck I should have them on the car this weekend.
It is a 2011 A4 2.0 Tdi Quattro.
D2 coilovers.
Original RS6 wheels 9x19" ET 33 with winter tires 225/35.
I am waiting for a black RS grille without the emblem and plate holder and the diffuser in the rear with quad exhaust.
And of course the rims:)
Judd T311 gunmetal 10.5x20" on all four corners with 245/30 tires.
More pictures to come.

Because I like the staggered look, but I still wanted a square setup for tire rotation. So I simply used larger spacers for the rear wheel.

You could always go directly with et33 all around, but you might rub in the front, not 100% sure. I have minimal rub in the back (only under extreme situation, not a concern really), no rub in front.
I had it aligned with a bit more camber for the rear wheels to prevent rubbing. Not sure how much they put though.

Not sure if I should take the gunmetal plasti dip off the wheels or leave them for now, what do you guys think?

Either Plasti dip the window trim and valence gunmetal to match the wheels or take it off.

Without plastidip. Better contrast and the mix of color isn't great IMO.

definitely take it off, that basic gunmetal dip isn't really gunmetal at all and just a dull gray primer type color. i think with a proper gunmetal it would look real nice with that blue. do an anthracite base and put silver metalizer over that for a more metallic effect. but otherwise it still looks good in the OEM silver too.
