in a dilemma between 19s and 20s. i know 20s will help close the gap more but you cant really be slammed and drive it around unlike 19s its just smaller that the whole car can sit lower.

how come i NEVER see any b8 owners slam their car? just like this b8 i plan on going as low if not lower for sure.

an opinion on slamming the b8 on coils would be appreciated. i plan on getting bc coils and most likely 19s since the whole car can go lower. im talking low lol . went through the whole thread and this is the only static one i like as far as the height goes

You must be new here. Plenty of lowered B8's on Audizine, coils and air.

There's no difference in outside diameter between 19s and 20s. At least there isn't if you did it right.

You do know that you have to put tires on the rims right? The real question is how much pedal response do you get with 19's over the 20's.

yes i get that but the whole car sits lower on 19's if you try to slam it as oppose to 20's obviously

i think im gonna go with that exact same set up above lol

i wish the non multipiece rotiform SNA's were still around lol

I would love these wheels on your car if:
1) There were larger
2) They had exposed hardware on the lip like the Rotifolm LVS's below

I'll give you a pass on the above comment,

Check out 1010tire.com... it's all about rolling diameter....

19s vs 20s is about a difference in tire thickness.... it isn't about how low you can go... as long as your rolling diameter stays within 3% of OEM, you can go as low or high on either size wheel....

Most people don't roll on 20s because it requires a very small tire which isn't practical (for a lot of members) for daily use, because minimal tire means less forgiveness with potholes and road imperfections (aka bent wheel).

Also keep in mind the other variables: offset (ET) and wheel thickness as well, they all play a very important factor in fitment for lowering. (And brake caliper clearance in some cases as well)

Edit: there is legitimate concerns with weight, as 20s are typically very heavy.... but I don't think you're concerned with that, because if so, you would go 18s for sure

i dont remember if it was from the BC website itself or if it was a vendor listing the specs for the b8 a4's but it was listed as 16k front and 10k rear. you guys think i should go up on spring rates. like up one or just keep it since it comes with dampening control

I'm 19x10et 35 245/35. I'm on air and ride basically on my lip. I hit my frame on everything. 20s just look goofy on the B8, very few 20s will look good.

He's on solowerks I believe. They're great and ride just as good as oem. I had a set before going air. They're just not consistent. I had a horrible gap and was maxed out. I've seen some go as low as bags though.

Need some help trying to understand the tire and wheel setups. I bought some VIP Modulars for my S4 from another local S4 owner as a package after I guess checking that he had used this on his car as well. I know I might get bashed for this, but it was a staggered set up and I am trying to figure out (after the fact =\) how to make them work.

Wheels are 19x19.5s in the front and 19x10.5s in the rear with 235s in the front and 245s in the rear. He had mounted different tires in on these to get the wheel diameter to the closes differential and I did confirm this fact with him.

I did check some websites on the overall diameter and was wondering if 255x35x19's on them would still be okay to eliminate the stretch on these? Wheel-size.com says the diameter is the same for all these wheels. Does the width count in the differential as well?

Wheel width is not a factor in rolling diameter. You want the same size tires all around.

With that said, 255's will fit just fine on your front wheels. They will have aggressive stretch on the 10.5's in the rear though. You may want to look at 265's in the rear if you're truing to avoid that, but you'd need to step down in profile specs to bring it back within diameter tolerances of the 255's. Math is escaping me at the moment - maybe a 265/30 in the rear?

Has anyone ever fitted slightly larger profile tires on the S4 rotors? I'm thinking 265 35 19 or 255 45 19. Thoughts? I'm planning on running S4 rotors on my allroad at stock heigh so I want a little more girth on the tires. I'm also a fan of the more square look rather than the super low profile. Especially for the allroad.

Posting for this for fellow B8 Avant owners. I've run a few different wheel set-ups so far and this is by far the best fitment I've achieved yet.

OEM 19x9 ET 33 S5 Rotors
245/35/19 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Tires
Eibach Sportline Sedan Cup Kit

I've always loved the concavity and offset of the larger S5 rotor wheels on the B8 but I have seen that some people had issues with rubbing on lowered A4/S4s. I wanted to avoid this so I opted to step down to 245's. Stretch is fairly minimal and I think the stance is now almost perfect. Ran home with a trunk full of tires tonight so I couldn't really push the car, but so far everything is rub free. Fender to ground is about 25.5" all around.

Sounds good! I am still struggle should I keep the 255 on my own s5 rotor or switch to use 245. But if et35 ok with 255 then I will take the chance and keep it as is.

Been trying to find a set of these locally for what seems like 2 years. Shipping is just a non starter for used prices.

I wouldn't say it's good or bad. Your car is just really different, but tbh maybe if the red was a darker red and glossy I'd like it more but that red just kinda looks cheap in my opinion and less tire thickness. But that's just me because I like low profile and super low cars. If that's what you like then who cares about what people say

Question for the Bathurst drivers.

I tried several wheels in 10x20 (ET 35 and 40) and last one (Vossen VFS1 Reps) was ET40, without tire i had 4mm clearance with the upper control arm, so that will not be enough to fit a tire..

Now i see that a lot of people here drive the TSW bathurst wheels with 10x20 ET40, can someone tell me if the bathurst wheels will fit without any problems with 255/30/20 (hankook) tires? I have to order them in the US, so i can not send them back if they do not fit my B8.

At the moment the car is on stock S-line springs, i want to swap them to 50/40 set.

Are you running adjustable upper control arms? They may provide extra clearance.

So I ended up cracking one of my Neuspeed wheels...
So now I ended up switching to some Rotiform BLQ's (19x8.5 et45) with 245/35/19 tires, compared to the old 255/30/19 tire set up with the Neuspeeds.
I'm loving the new look with the Rotiforms but I also do feel they are a bit heavier.

It's a shame Neuspeed stopped making the forged RS series wheels and instead started making the crappy RSe series wheels. The RS were truly lightweight and strong. Sure the newer wheels are cheaper, but the quality went way down. Your new wheels look great!

Very nice, i like the sedan version, shame i cant have both sedan and avant :D

But avant is so practical in real life, sedan is more "playboy" style car ;-) Which is good hunters [:D][up]

here is another from the Avant side ;-)

btw this one is 3.0TDI manual [up] 290HP (dyno test),

I think it is more like S4 diesel version :D, stock S4 cant escape and if you are skilled in corners and you know the road, you can outrun S4, these P zero 255/30 are the gift from RS4 queen to this diesel sleeper. Recently met latest Golf R, he was a way faster, especialy that sound of super fast automatic transmition.. it was like ninja small car that u cant catch up :D, but in corners i catch up and pass over half of the car... in the R was some youngster without real balls, so he was a bit suprised that some old wolf was unexpectaly back in the first long highspeed, sharp, bumpy corner.. I love these moments.. getting more rare tho...speed cameras everywhere, ...

The wheel hub is actually bigger. They advertised 66.6 and they sent me adapters. It's riding fine, no vibrations. Overall it's not a big deal... Or is it?

I'm using 12-15 ecs spacers. Does this look ok? If i take out the spacers it'll definitely be sunken in.

You can't make a 57.1 center bore bigger with a hub ring. The B8 is 66.6cb.

my bad bros.. let me clarify this. i seem to have made a lot of confusion here.

the aftermarket wheel hub are bigger than 66.6. im not sure what size it is but the hole is definitely bigger.
adapter rings were included so its sized to 66.6

A5 wheels will always be aggressive spacers will only make it worse. You can have the wheel machined to remove some metal to bring it in.

As long as it's done professionally and stays level on the back you shouldn't have any problems removing a few mm's off the backside.

Quick question for you aftermarket wheel guys, do the new TPMS sensors (bought a new set of 4) need to be individually programmed to the car? I cannot seem to find a procedure for it. Other posts are saying the system doesnt use sensors it monitors the rotation of the wheels through the abs system to detect for changes (ie a flat tire).

The only exception being 2009 B8 models which still used separate TPMS sensors in each wheel. Audi switched to the ABS wheel speed sensor in 2010.

Between Akebono pads and Gyeon Rim, my wheels stay and look cleaner for longer. Yeah things are going to still "stick" due to wheel designs and physics but not as bad as before. Plus now they clean much easier. Like washing any other part of the car. Mild soap and water makes them look new again. Water beads up and rolls off just like any waxed section of a car. No need for harsh wheel cleaners and brushes. If "in a bind" or needing a quick touch up, they come clean with just a paper towel.

Now how long is this going to last? Not sure about the 1 year they claim but we will see. I think just using mild soap and water helps versus harsh pH wheel cleaners.

Very nice wheels! I see ECS Tuning is selling as well. But they only have in silver. Where do I get wheel powder coating? I have to mail the wheels to them?

BTW, does anyone know the weight of 2010 A4 17" factory wheel? I thought I seen the info somewhere a while back. But now I couldn't find it.

I'm looking for 18" wheels and the Alzor 18" is around 21 lb each per ECS Tuning. Is that consider heavy or light for a 18" wheel?

To give you an idea. I am running 20x8.5 et38 front and rear. NOT LOWERED YET. 245/35-20 Toyo Proxes 4Plus tires. I am about flush up front and I could probably run 5-8 mm in the rear to make it flush. So 30-32ET

Any opinions on ultra lightweight wheels for track use? Really don't care what they look like. OZs and Enkeis are everyone's first recommendation. I'm leaning towards TR FF10s in 17". Ugly AF but cheap and 17.4 pounds.

Why not put a smaller spacer instead of roll the fender? I am running 19X9 ET33 S5 rotors on 255/35/19 and lowered on PSS10 with no rubbing at all, so you shouldn't rub with a 10mm spacers and some negative camber

How much? Cause for what they charge per wheel it’s just better off finding a used oem set. Prices are ridiculous for reps

Found a local craigslist ad for S5 Rotors (19x9 et33) $900! Thought it was too good to be true until I picked them up. Here they are, stock height for now:

Eventually thinking of going aftermarket, I want some bronze TE37's, I know many will hate on the JDM wheels on German body, but I've always love the rims and I think the shape fits the all road really well. Here's a shitty photoshop of bronze TE37's and desired ride height:

I have 19x9.5 et40 AG M590s with 255/35 on 1.25” drop HR sport springs on a A4 and it’s about as perfect as you can get. Stock height the 35 is too short of a sidewall. You may want 40 or even 45s if you aren’t going to lower it.

Excuse the dirty car. It has been below zero here for as long as I can think. No chance to wash my car. So it looks like they will poke about an inch in the back, but should clear the fender liner and suspension (tire dependent.)

This is like running 23mm spacers on stock 19x8.5+43 wheels but with smaller and skinnier tires. Not sure why you’d want to run such small tires but this might work. It’s aggressive with offset but the skinny & small tires would make it easier.

There hasn't been much snow, but about 3 weeks ago after that one storm I drove up and they performed amazingly. The road up to our cabin wasn't plowed and there were some steep hills and it was cold and icy in the morning, and it made it no problem. Haven't used in summer yet as I just got them, but I also plan on getting summer wheels so I'll only have these on during rain/snow season.

Did some refurb on these stasis wheels. 20x8, not sure on offset. Little curb rash, couldn't take the color choice on the brakes...good weekend project. Haven't been on this forum in over 10 years, glad to be behind the wheel of an Audi again.

Thanks, yeah these are replicas in 19. I couldn’t find oem 19 in the UK. They are on the black edition but for A6s or above and are normally 20 and above with wrong offsets so ended up going with replicas, they have held up great so far. Rs6c replicas I searched online for.

Just to chime in. I went %5 taller than 'recommended' with my 20s. so recommended would be 245/30-20, I am running 245/35-20 Toyo Proxes 4Plus tires on 20x8.5 et38 wheels, and my speedometer now is exactly correct, according to GPS readings. Auto manufactures set the speedometers a little higher than the car is actually traveling, so that you can never be going faster(actual speed) than the car's dash reads, when running the stock wheel and tire set up. It's a legal thing, but, like I said, the taller tires actually corrected the actual vehicle speed.

OK, So 2 things, First, my wife did the same thing. Only 2 days after I bought my new wheels. She was SUPER apologetic, and she is wonderful so whatever. They are black, and it was minor, so I just used a sharpie until I can properly fix it. Second thing. I am working on making a mesh style grill for my B8, that replicates the RS4 B8.5 grill, but it looks like you may have found one. I see you are over seas, but I have to ask, where did you pick that thing up?

Stonecarbon2009 is the seller on eBay that a lot of us have purchased from. He can do Black, chrome, or aluminum trims.

There was a group buy from xenonz.com a while back too, but I don't see those grilles on their website anymore sooooo, ebay may be your best bet. The Stonecarbon ones are good quality. I have one and it's nicely made

Hi all! I just bought an A5 wheel and the offset is less than recommended. The wheel size: 8.5J 18" ET29 w/ 245/40 R18 Micheline pilot sport tyres. Original ET should be around 45. What kind of negative effects I can have? Should I care? The car looks good, but I considering to change if I may have serious problems.

I just went to a 245 45R 18 and the ride is smoother than the 245 40R 18 with the little extra tire and feels weird at first. It takes a few miles to go thru until the computer resets to the change of size. You'll notice the change right away, the response time while cornering will be better but it still feels strange sitting up higher than before. I may go back to 40R before the summer but I feel optimistic about these roads here in Michigan. The potholes are so bad that when you drive up to them you can't even see the bottom. To protect my investment I may just keep the 45R's on and enjoy non racey but smoother ride..

I was talking about wheel offset, not the height of tire sorry if i confuse. Because now mine is in positive offset ~ +16mm against zero. I care about bearings wear, handling etc.

You could have rubbing issues in some instances. I noticed the importance of balanace and such a bit more going from 47 to 32. In addition, as the wheel distance increase from the hub you should feel more vibration because of the increased moment arm.

A good read: http://www.moderntiredealer.com/article/712036/helping-your-customer-understand-why-wheel-offset-matters

Currently Running on ST coilovers, bout a finger gap between fender and tires all around. With this current setup no rubbing at all. Wheels are 20x10 et40 and tires are 225/45/20. Bought the set for $440 locally from a seller on Craig's. Lol decided to burn through the tire before switching it. Next set of tires will be 255/35/20. Shouldn't get any rubbing. My last set up was a pair of 20x9 et 25 wheels with 245/35/20. Never rubbed at all on that set up. So my next one should be the same.
