Is the b8 s4 considered a luxury sports sedan or just a pure sports car. Just wondering...[confused]

Sports Sedan. But the performance of the sports sedans lately have blurred the lines a little. If you consider a z4 a sports car than I would say sports car but when I hear sportscars than I am thinking 911 turbo's, and ferrari, etc. than the S4 would be considered a sports sedan.

is that a serious question? what pure sports car weighs 3900lbs and has four door?

well a ferrari california weighs 3825lbs. I would still consider it a sports car but not four doors. Panamera is 4101lbs.

panamera is absolutely not a pure "sports" car

whoops didn't see the word pure. But I think his word pure doesn't really mean what we think it means, otherwise he wouldn't have asked this question. I think he means more like performance than weight.

True sports cars forgo convenience in the interest of performance. The S4 is specifically intended to not forgo convenience or amenities. It is most definitely a sports sedan and not a true sports car.

Lotus Elise or Exige anyone?

It's very rare to have a true, "pure" sports car nowadays.
