Is this normal?

Hey guys, I have about 1600 miles on my s4 and up until recently every morning when I start the car revs by itslef up to 1000 revs... Is this a fuel pump problem or should I not be concerned?

it's normal, you'll notice it'll drop back down after 30 seconds or so.

THe engine is running that way to get the catilist hot, above a cerain effiecency level. It helps prevent catilitic converter damage in the long run

I think this happens in all cars, Japanese,American,German,etc.

It's usual for every modern car - a kind of warming up.
