for the love of god, I dont know why Audi does the things they do. I have a US 2009 TTS and replaced the factory nav with a Pioneer Z110. Killer unit but the problem is the remote turn on for the amps and thus speakers is NOW DIGITAL. You cant tap in a 12v constant. None of the harness makers are even aware of this and act as if I am crazy (well enfig tried to help). And its only in the US market. THANK YOU AUDI.
Two months and wasted dollars for nothing. what a frustration
Putting the whole thing up for sale in disgust

Have you looked into going all aftermarket (speakers and amps)?
I'm firmly convinced there's not a stock system out there that will outperform the best or even moderate of aftermarket...

i've considered it but I just didnt want to spend an extra 3grand to get it. I never thought a million years it would be this difficult. The TTS is in small numbers and the harness providers are in the UK and Germany. So this being a US only design change (which neither of them were aware of until I told them) they are not in any big rush to change the design that the rest of the world doesnt need..............

Depends on your taste, but these are all decent 5 channel amps to run everything, including a sub. When it comes to speakers, I'm not sure of your sizes, but I'm sure you could keep front, rear, and a single 10" sub below $500 if you wanted, and RCA and power wires would be no more than $300 for good stuff.
I guess what I'm saying is that I've seen budget systems like this run less than $1,500 for something really good for the price, as long as you're ambitious enough to install yourself. You might even be able to keep all components below $1,000 if you go used w/ used amp (I would stay away from used speakers, however).
I used to stay far away from ebay-pieced systems, but in reality, they're quite a steal if you know what you're looking for. (Shit, that alpine 5-channel is only 50 bucks right now!)

My system has 13 speakers in the car which makes the options challenging.
I am going to check those out and see what I can do
A friend just suggested looking at an Audison LRX 5.1 amp which when combined with their bitone is supposed to be amazing

Haha, well obviously you wouldn't be utilizing all 13 spots. I find that a proper coaxial setup in the rear and a component setup in front work just fine, if not better.
...but again, it's all about personal taste.
